Comet C/2012 X1 (LINEAR), trailing ISON by 3 months, 'explodes' - 100x increase in brightness

This 'LINEAR' C/2012 X1 was discovered after C/2012 S1 - i.e., ISON. 'S' vs. 'X'. This 'LINEAR' (and there are a lot of comets discovered by LINEAR) is still in the asteroid belt. It will not make perihelion till February 21, 2014. So it is trailing ISON by 3 months.

They won't stop...

...with the dirty snowball non-sense. See this item on SpaceWeather.com where they add to it:

"The outburst does not necessarily signal a disintegration of the comet. Possibly, a local vein or cavern of deep ice in the comet's nucleus has been exposed to sunlight. Rapid evaporation of fragile ices could account for the comet's bigger- and brighter-than-expected atmosphere."

The mentioned website has been providing distorted reports on NEOs, CMEs and suppressing infos about the real nature of space events. Where to get a decent space news?
I visit solarham.com and solarmonitor.org (which both depend on NASA anyway) for the things about the Sun but for the rest it is a cherry picking.

Maybe you, rbateman, could suggest us some interesting webs?

Yeh, that and the notion that comets 'explode'. I see jets streaming from it, a coma around it, and a significant brightening... but no explosion.

Comets and the 'vacuum of space' are not what NASA et al think they are!
