Bricks in the wall. Not left alone though. Do the teachers not see themselves as proper peer-group mates? Or are they predatory?
" Comment: Encouraging news, but it could be a feint. The same regulations on censorship and centralization of power could still be brought in...
At the end of the day - may the best ideas prevail. The chips are on the table. Place your bets!
Excellent SOTT comment.

"There are enough problems on Earth and in near-Earth space," Berezhnoy said in response to a reporter's question.

Berezhnoy didn't broach the subject. Rather, he was answering a question from a reporter.
His response was rational. It's the reporter, not Berezhnoy, who was the doofus.
. . . if you read any of the many stories of seeming "UFO" adjustments, let's say, with the Yanks abilities to get an ICBM into the air the stupid notion of "preparing for the aliens" drops into its proper context, at the bottom of the round file.
Besides, we've -already- been very effectively "invaded" by the 6% . . .
The military may be powerless though they still have the weapon Mr. Putin. While he's around no alien would dare touch this planet.
I'm unprepared to deal with space alien invasion too.
However the understanding of some is that they are already here and working with the psychos that rule the planet in order to make life impossible for humanity so we will all give up and die off without any of the otherwise unpleasantness that would be frowned upon by the good aliens of the Supreme Galactic Council.
The problem with this theory is that the aliens seem to be somewhat superfluous and some might argue they would find our leadership distasteful even by thier standards. Perhaps a little ketchup would help?
Whatdya expect? Reason?
We have barely managed to send a rocket to the moon and to mars yet we consider to defend the planet from a civilization that managed to overcome interstellar travel ...???
