A large number of handicapped people (i.e. those with brain damage) are said to be that way because they were starved of oxygen at birth. If the unbilical cord is not severed, wouldn't oxygen continue to be supplied? And if so, isn't the person who cut the cord responsible for the brain damage?
This has always baffled me and I can't find much about it anywhere.
