... are also attempted suicides, and you get an even fuller picture of the situation.
If you can be suppressed forcefully enough for a sufficient amount of time, you will attempt to end your life. The impact of a bullet on a person has a similar effect.
I think it would really help, for starters, for the people involved in this problem to know what human death really is. Many doctors are aware of this, because they have learned to keep "dead" human bodies "alive" in order to harvest tissues from them. They know the difference. In a dead human body, "nobody's home." Doctors who have been around dead bodies can tell you about this.
What went away? We call it the soul, the spirit, or the higher self. In a damaged body (we assume, once we are aware of this) that the being must have been forced away from its body by the pain of the damage done to it. But those who have fought to the death in close quarters can tell you that some people can be killed by an injury, or sudden shock, that would simply annoy someone else. In other words, how easily a person dies is related to how much the person wants to live.
To the extent that we are seeing a rise in death rates, or in conditions that would be expected to cause death, we are seeing, in the population as a whole, an decrease in its desire to remain alive. This is a sure sign of increase in suppressive activities.
At some point, body death becomes necessary and remedial. But in theory, if a person were able to remain in a state of mind that refused death, they would never die. As spiritual beings are immortal, there is a certain amount of self-deception going on here, in order to be involved in the game of having a body. But that doesn't change the fact that the game goes much better in a suppression-free environment where beings only have to drop their bodies if that's what they really want to do.
