ancient china had specialized people who 'walked' caskets to town native to the deceased who was to be buried in their hometown. The caskets were 'walked' in a wooden frame cradle. It would make sense that these statues were walked horizontally.
Um why would they "recreate" something almost 1/10th scale and call it an accurate resemblance. Derp Derp Derp...... I mean it's not scientific at all.....
