Maybe Mulder or Scully would have a better idea of what was flying over the city late Wednesday night.

Shocked and stunned area residents reported an X-Files-like flying object over the Ontario area.

"I was in my backyard when I heard a weird noise and just happened to look up to see a cigar-shaped aircraft with all these lights," said Upland resident Tim Pfaoulgraff.

"At first I thought it was a blimp but it was moving so fast it obviously wasn't a blimp."

But Pfaoulgraff was not alone. Other Internet witnesses also saw the object near the 10 Freeway between 8:30 and 9:20 p.m.

A YouTube video of the aircraft had 600 views by 6 p.m. Thursday.

Pfaoulgraff said he saw it heading east before it got lost behind trees.

The Ontario's police and fire departments reported they did not receive any phone calls about a UFO.

The Goodyear officials said their blimp, based in Carson, was not flying in the Ontario area Wednesday night.

But Ian Gregor, spokesman for Federal Aviation Administration, said Southern California has one of the busiest airspaces and it is likely what people saw was an aircraft or meteor.

"We don't deal with UFOs," he said.
