Date of Sighting: June 5, 2009
Time of Sighting: Approximately 11 PM EDT
Location of Sighting: Whitby, Ontario, Canada (N. Shore of Lake Ontario, 20 MI ENE of Toronto)

Description: I was shooting video of the full moon from Whitby Ontario Canada with (Panasonic AGDVX100B professional 3ccd video camera) thinking I would be able to use the footage at some point. I was getting some eerie pictures of the moon, tilting up, shooting through trees. I thought it would make for some great footage.

Then I saw something dart across the screen and thought myself lucky to have captured images of a falling star on tape. I made mention of this to my wife while the tape was running.

Then I realized that there was more then one light, so I am thinking, meteor shower, when all of a sudden, one of the lights does an abrupt 90 degree change of direction! From heading right to left across the full moon and 45 degrees downward to basically 45 degrees back up!

I was using a rented camera so when I took it back the next day I asked the video pros about it. They could not explain it either.

We ruled out bugs because the lights were pure white, not glowing red / orange like fireflies would. Also other insects would have projected a shadow in front of the moon, but our lights where pure white.

In about 2 minutes of video, they appear only for a few seconds and were not visible to the naked eye. Frame by frame, you can see the trajectories and sudden change of direction, unlike aircraft.

I am not sure if the links below allow for video. I also have to convert it from tape to a video file to post here if that is an option. I don't know if I will be able to edit this post or add the video after clicking submit. I will try.

Note: I have provided directions for the witness to submit a copy of the video to UFOS Northwest. As of yet I have not received any further response from the witness. His report is compelling and I would like to see the video. The observed abrupt changes in direction of movement of the lights are interesting. The witness feels that the lights were not insects or other explainable objects.
