As many of you know, Signs of the Times is not supported by major funding like many other news sites, and is not affiliated with any government, political group, corporation, or news agency. SOTT is financed by any donations we receive as well as money out of our own pockets. The benefit of this setup is that we do not have any sponsors that might introduce unwanted bias into our work. The obvious and major drawback is that we do not have the funding to do all the things we would like to do for our readers.

Almost one year ago, SOTT created the P3nt4gon Str!ke presentation, which has now been viewed by well over 300,000,000 people worldwide, and is available in nine different languages. Recently, we wrote and produced the song You Lied, performed by Away With the Fairys. We also recorded our first ever podcast, beginning a project which we had been trying to get off the ground for over a year.

To produce the Signs page, we work very long days (often upwards of 14-16 hours) without pay. We do it because we love it, and because our readers often write to tell us how they have benefited from our work. In order to continue expanding our work and deepen our analysis and understanding of our world, we need to enlarge our library. There are many books we would like to have that we cannot afford. With our increasing use of sound files and our future projects that include video, we have and will continue to incur higher bandwidth costs. As well, the Signs page and related projects are created on several computers which are each upwards of five years old. They are very slow, increasingly unreliable, and won't support regular podcasts and videos.

Unfortunately, we do not have the financial means to purchase the books we need, much less new equipment. Current donations only support our basic needs and living expenses.

In order to continue producing the Signs page, the podcast, Flash presentations, and expand our operations further, we need your support.

At the moment, we are preparing six Signs of the Times Commentary books. These books are collections of SOTT commentary grouped according to theme. They will be available for sale soon, and any proceeds will go towards helping to cover our increasing operating costs.

[...] Armageddon is seen by Christian fundamentalists as "nuclear and imminent", waiting only for proper orchestration from American political leaders. The Zionists, naturally, do NOT include Armageddon in their messianic aspirations. This conflict of interests at a higher level is exposed in Gorenberg's book.

Gorenberg's book was written before 9-11 and, in this sense, was extremely prescient. The reader who wishes to understand what is at the root of the current conflict that threatens to engulf our planet will find his history of those 35 disputed acres of the Temple Mount to be crucial. Gorenberg makes clear what is at the root of the volatile relationships between Arabs, Jews and Christians in Israel. He pays special attention to carefully documenting and analyzing the actions and beliefs of fundamentalist groups in all three religions.

Jewish messianists and Christian millennialists both believe that building the Third Temple on the site where both Solomon's and Herod's temples are alleged to have stood is essential for their respective prophetic scenarios to take place (never mind that they seem to both be using each other and each believe that the other is just a dumb tool), while the Muslim believers fear that efforts to destroy Al-Aqsa mosque to make way for the Third Temple will prevent fulfillment of the prophecy about Islam's Meccan shrine migrating to Jerusalem at the end of time.

Gorenberg calls Temple Mount "a sacred blasting cap".

The problem is, of course, as I show in Who Wrote the Bible, there probably never was a FIRST "Temple of Solomon," and the Old Testament is NOT a true "history of the Jews." So, the problem is: if Islam is predicated on two "manufactured" religions, what does that say about the faith of the Islamic fundamentalists?

The fact is: There is an alliance between America and Israel in the war on Islam. They are both determined to establish Israeli control over Jerusalem and rebuild the Temple where the Dome of the Rock now stands and the Palestinians are in the way. [...]

[...] Could it ever be an evolutionarily stable strategy for people to be innately unselfish?

On the whole, a capacity to cheat, to compete and to lie has proven to be a stupendously successful adaptation. Thus the idea that selection pressure could ever cause saintliness to spread in a society looks implausible in practice. It doesn't seem feasible to outcompete genes which promote competitiveness. "Nice guys" get eaten or outbred. Happy people who are unaware get eaten or outbred. Happiness and niceness today is vanishingly rare, and the misery and suffering of those who are able to truly feel, who are empathic toward other human beings, who have a conscience, is all too common. And the psychopathic manipulations are designed to make psychopaths of us all.

Nevertheless, a predisposition to, conscience, ethics, can prevail if and when it is also able to implement the deepest level of altruism: making the object of its empathy the higher ideal of enhancing free will in the abstract sense, for the sake of others, including our descendants.

In short, our "self-interest" ought to be vested in collectively ensuring that all others are happy and well-disposed too; and in ensuring that children we bring into the world have the option of being constitutionally happy and benevolent toward one another.

This means that if psychopathy threatens the well-being of the group future, then it can be only be dealt with by refusing to allow the self to be dominated by it on an individual, personal basis. Preserving free will for the self in the practical sense, ultimately preserves free will for others. Protection of our own rights AS the rights of others, underwrites the free will position and potential for happiness of all. If mutant psychopaths pose a potential danger then true empathy, true ethics, true conscience, dictates using prophylactic therapy against psychopaths.

And so it is that identifying the psychopath, ceasing our interaction with them, cutting them off from our society, making ourselves unavailable to them as "food" or objects to be conned and used, is the single most effective strategy that we can play.

It seems certain from the evidence that a positive transformation of human nature isn't going to come about through a great spiritual awakening, socio-economic reforms, or a spontaneous desire among the peoples of the world to be nice to each other. But it's quite possible that, in the long run, the psychopathic program of suffering will lose out because misery is not a stable strategy. In a state of increasing misery, victims will seek to escape it; and this seeking will ultimately lead them to inquire into the true state of their misery, and that may lead to a society of intelligent people who will have the collective capacity to do so.

[...] Now, let me repeat the crucial point here: Ideas about conspiracy are not delusions or paranoia. From a historical point of view, the ONLY reality is that of conspiracy. Our "freedom" is to large extent an illusion. Secrecy, wealth and independence add up to power. ...Deception is the key element of warfare, (the tool of power elites), and when winning is all that matters, the conventional morality held by ordinary people becomes an impediment. In other words, creating religions to deceive people is standard procedure from the most primitive "witch doctor" who scares the tribe so that he can stay in power, right on up to the controls exerted by George Bush in the name of Christianity, and undoubtedly beyond, in the realms of hyperdimensions.

[Note: We speak of organized religions here, not about the very idea of God-Creator and the Mysteries of the Soul and Mind. If anything, we think that the evidence shows Creation to be far more grand and glorious than the organized religions even admit, and that the Cosmos is not reducible to the simplistic "god theories" of human beings.]

Secrecy about the true nature of our reality, and the true foolishness of these religions, stems from a pervasive and fundamental element of life in our world, that those who are at the top of the heap will always take whatever steps are necessary to maintain the status quo.

And maintaining the "status quo" via religion is one of the main objectives of the Power Elite.

And how do they do that?

By "official culture."

And official religious culture, understood this way, from the perspective of elite groups wishing to maintain the status quo of their power, means only one thing: COINTELPRO.

Here we do not mean the specific FBI program, but the concept of the program, and the likelihood that this has been the mode of controlling human beings for possibly millennia.

Remember: those who are at the top of the heap will always take whatever steps are necessary to maintain the status quo.

And maintaining the "status quo" via the clever manipulation of people via religion is one of the main objectives of the Power Elite.

And so it was that we gradually became aware of the fact that our approach of evaluating our reality in what amount to Scientific Gnostic terms, which suggests that this world we experience, our normally sensed space-time, is "embedded" in a fifith dimension (and here I use the term as mathematicians use it, NOT as it is used by the so-called "New Age") that is REAL, and our reality may very well be the "battlefield" of denizens of hyperdimensional space-time, is considered to be as dangerous as the ideas of the Gnostics and the Cathars who held similar ideas. That is to say human beings appear to be the "playing pieces" in vast and complex Secret Games of the Gods, and our actions or lack of action may represent the moves and maneuvers of said denizens of hyperdimensional space who, it seems, most desperately do NOT want us to unite in our awareness of their existence, and who exert great effort to confuse and obfuscate humanity to that end. Because certainly, if we really discover the proof of their existence, and their games, we will stop playing.

This is the Most Dangerous Idea on Earth.

[...] We learn that the work on such weapons was begun in Nazi Germany. The victims of these weapons were largely Jews. When Larson published his paper in 1970, "the military's private circles it was old news." Which means it had been discussed for a long time by the US military, most likely with the Nazis brought into the US after World War II via Operation Paperclip. Tests were carried out as far back as 1951 on Blacks working at the Mechanicsburg, PA Naval Supply Depot. An early form of ethnic specific weapon were the malororants, developed to control crowds (of people dissenting against the Bush Reich, perhaps?).

Influenza - "a human respiratory infection of undetermined cause" according to Webster's dictionary. Most people have at some stage in their lives felt its effects, and while the normal human virus is not lethal to humans there exists the possibility that lethal "mutated" strains can develop.

Each winter the flu virus makes its expected appearance, commonly known as the "Flu season". The standard government response is to commission the large pharmaceutical companies to manufacture vast amounts of a vaccine.

The vaccine is essentially a dose containing several, either dead, or alive but weakened, flu virus strains (among other things as we shall see). When introduced into the body these supposedly immunise us against those particular strains. However the vaccine does not cover all the possible Flu virus strains and if the predominant flu virus in any given season is not contained in the vaccine then naturally no protection will be afforded by the vaccine. Interestingly, this was the case this 2003/4 season, yet it did not stop the government from urging the public to "get immunised!"

While initially being recommended for the elderly and young, now it is advised that everyone who wants to avoid the flu should receive the shot. The question is, how much do you trust your government, and how much of that trust is warranted. As we shall see, there is cause to be highly suspicious of government advice.

Insane at the Helm

The UK can already exclude or deport those who pose a threat to security.

On Thursday al-Qaeda's number two threatened new attacks on London and blamed the prime minister for the 7 July bombings, which killed 56.

Ayman al-Zawahri also threatened the US were broadcast on an Arabic news channel. President George Bush said his policy remained the same.

'Indirect incitement'

Mr Blair's news conference on Friday will be his final media grilling before he departs for his summer holiday.

It will provide a chance for an update on the latest terror situation and other issues.

London has been nicknamed "Londonistan" - centre for militant Islam - by some critics who believe the UK has been too liberal towards radical clerics.

Mr Blair is expected to reveal the precise details of the planned new powers.

Home Secretary Charles Clarke has already said he wants to extend his existing powers to cover those who "seek to provoke others to terrorist acts".

Mr Clarke said he wanted to be able to exclude an individual from the UK if their presence is deemed "not conducive to the public interest".

There would be consultation before the final list of "unacceptable behaviours" was decided upon, he said.

Anyone wanting to enter the UK would then be checked against this list - and if they are on it they may be refused permission to enter the country.

'Mood shift'

Mr Clarke also said he planned a new offence of "indirect incitement to terrorism" to add to the current offence of direct incitement.

Metropolitan Police chief Sir Ian Blair argued it would have been better to bring in the new measures at an earlier date but said he was glad action was being taken now.

"One of the difficulties has been this idea about how can we deport people to places where they may suffer oppression," he told GMTV.

"Well, I think the public mood is shifting. I'm sorry, but this is England, Britain, and we don't want this fomenting of terrorism to go on." [...]

These are the proposed points of Government action listed by Prime Minister Tony Blair during today's news conference:

1. The Government is launching a consultation on new grounds for excluding and deporting people from the UK.

It is prepared to amend the Human Rights Act in respect of interpretation of the European Convention on Human Rights if legal obstacles arise.

A list will be drawn up of extremist websites, bookshops and centres, involvement with which would prompt the Home Secretary to consider the deportation of any foreign national.

2. There will be new anti-terror legislation in the autumn, including an offence of condoning or glorifying terrorism which would apply anywhere, not just in the UK.

3. Anyone participating in terrorism or who has anything to do with it will automatically be refused asylum.

4. Existing powers to strip people of their British or dual nationality if they act against the interests of this country, could, after consultation, be extended to apply to naturalised citizens involved in extremism, as well as being made made simpler and more effective.

5. The Government will also consult on setting a maximum time limit for all future extradition cases involving terrorism.

6. Ministers will examine possible ways of extending the period of time terrorist suspects can be held before they are charged and are examining a new court procedure which would allow a pre-trial process.

7. For those who are British nationals and cannot be deported, the use of control orders will be extended with any breach resulting in imprisonment.

8. Court capacity will be expanded if necessary to deal with " this and other related issues". The Lord Chancellor will increase the number of special judges hearing such cases.

9. The radical Hizb ut Tahrir and Al Muhajiroun groups will be banned. The Government will also look at widening the grounds for banning groups, putting forward proposals in new legislation.

10. Ministers will "review the threshold" for people who become British citizens.

Current requirements to "swear allegiance" to the country, participate in a citizenship ceremony and have an adequate grasp of the language would be looked at "to see if this is adequate".

A commission would be set up with Muslim leaders to ensure there was " better integration" with parts of the community which were " presently inadequately integrated".

11. There will be consultation on a new power to order the closure of a place of worship used for "fomenting extremism".

Muslim leaders would be asked to help draw up a list of clerics, who were not British citizens, who were "not suitable to preach", to be excluded from the country.

12. Proposals to ensure the country's borders are to be brought forward with a series of countries specifically designated for biometric visas over the next year.

An international database is being drawn up by the Foreign Office and Home Office to exclude people "whose activities or views pose a threat to Britain's security". Any appeal will only be allowed to take place outside the country.

Mr Blair added that if legislation could be made ready in time and "the right consensus achieved" the Government was ready to recall Parliament in September "at least to begin the debate over the measures".

An international organization representing the heads of police departments across the world has issued new guidelines recommending that officers who confront a suicide bomber should shoot the suspect in the head, the Washington Post reported.

The recommendations by the International Association of Chiefs of Police take a more aggressive posture than typical lethal-force guidelines for police departments, the newspaper reported on its Web Site late Wednesday. It said the guidelines were published July 8 - before the London police, acting on a similar policy, on July 22 fatally shot a Brazilian electrician in the head because they mistook him for a suicide bomber.

In the United States, the National Bomb Squad Commanders Advisory Board is developing the first national guidelines for responding to suicide bombers, the newspaper said.

Police in Israel and Britain, which have a long history of dealing with terrorist attacks, have adopted a national policy of shooting a suspected suicide bomber in the head to prevent detonation of a bomb.

The International Association of Chiefs of Police, responding to the July 7 attacks on three London subways and a double-decker bus that killed 52 people, produced a training guide for dealing with suicide bombers for its 20,000 members, the newspaper said.
The Post said the guidelines recommend that if an officer needs to use lethal force to stop someone who fits a certain behavioral profile, the officer should "aim for the head" to kill the person instantly and prevent the setting off of a bomb.

The association's behavioral profile says a suicide bombing suspect might exhibit "multiple anomalies," including wearing a heavy coat or jacket in warm weather or carrying a briefcase, duffle bag or backpack with protrusions or visible wires, the newspaper said.

The profile also said suspects may display such characteristics as nervousness, an unwillingness to make eye contact, excessive sweating, or mumbling prayers or "pacing back and forth in front of a venue," the newspaper said.

The Post said the police chiefs' guidelines say an officer does not have to wait until a suspected bomber makes a move in order to use deadly force, but just needs to have a "reasonable basis" to believe that the suspect can detonate a bomb.
