"You get America out of Iraq and Israel out of Palestine and you'll stop the terrorism." - Cindy Sheehan

Comment: Today is the 64th anniversary of the attack on the US' Pacific Navy Fleet in Pearl Harbor on the island of O'ahu, Hawai'i. The attack provided justifcation for the US government to order its military to engage in World War II. Since then, it has been categorically proven that members of the US government under President Roosevelt (or above him if you like), conspired to provoke Japan to attack the US Navy as a way to involve the US military-industrial complex in a war that was to greatly profit them.

Since then, successive US government's have employed similar tactics of self-inflicted injury to deceive the American public into lending their support, and the lives of their sons and daughters, to illegal and unjust wars. The attacks of 9/11 presented the most recent such deception.

On October 7, 1940, Lieutenant Commander Arthur McCollum of the Office of Naval Intelligence submitted a memo to Navy Captains Walter Anderson and Dudley Knox (whose endorsement is included in the following scans). Captains Anderson and Knox were two of President Roosevelt's most trusted military advisors.

The memo, (click here to see it), detailed an 8 step plan to provoke Japan into attacking the United States. President Roosevelt, over the course of 1941, implemented all 8 of the recommendations contained in the McCollum memo. Following the eighth provocation, Japan attacked. The public was told that it was a complete surprise, an "intelligence failure", and America entered World War Two.

This memo, which proves that the government of the United States desired to lure Japan into an attack, was declassified in 1994. It took fifty years for the truth about Pearl Harbor to be revealed. Will we have to wait that long for the truth of 9-11 to come out?

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush touted U.S. wartime successes in helping Iraq improve its economy and infrastructure Wednesday during a high-profile speech saying "we have to win the battle after the battle."

With growing public doubts about the war and heightened congressional debate about the U.S. military deployment, Bush focused on reconstruction efforts, saying U.S. strategy has shifted from large projects to smaller jobs that can be completed quickly, such as sewer lines and city roads.

Bush made his speech to members of the Council on Foreign Relations, a nonpartisan think tank whose members include influential Democrats critical of the administration's handling of the Iraq war.

Comment: We have to admit, we nearly lost our lunch when we read CNN's description of the Council on Foreign Relations as "nonpartisan".

You see, the definition of nonpartisan is:

"Based on, influenced by, affiliated with, or supporting the interests or policies of no single political party"

Thankfully for the CFR, this definition is vague enough to allow them to pass the nonpartisan test because it is true that they do not support the interests of any "single" political party, they support the interests of ANY political party or grouping that serves to further their agenda.

These days, their agenda seems very close to that of the Republican party (which also happens to be very close to the agenda of the Democratic party, meaning that there is really only one political party in the U.S., which to some extent renders defunkt the very idea of nonpartisanship in the US.

In any case, the President of the CFR is Richard N. Haass, who just happened to be State Department Director of Policy Planning and lead U.S. official on Afghanistan and Northern Ireland under Dubya from 2001-2003, and principal Middle East advisor to Dubya's daddy from 1989-1993. Could these facts in any way cast into doubt the claimed impartiality of the CFR? Of course not!

Haass is also the author or editor of ten books on U.S. foreign policy, including The Opportunity: America’s Moment to Alter History’s Course. Now what concepts do you think grace the pages of that little tome? Does it remind you in any way of the published work of another group of political types? "Rebuilding America's Defenses: Strategy, Forces and Resources For a New Century" anyone?

In short, it would appear that the only groups that Bush dares to address these days (other than crowds of well-managed military personnel) are those groups who have played a central role in forming the brutal and aggressive policies that his administration has been following for the past 5 years.

Turning then to Bush's actual speech to this bunch of insatiable warmongers, we note that he bravely praises the "criticism" from Democratic Senator Liberman, and in a wonderful insight into the truth of our statement about the state of "bipartisan" politics in the US and just how twisted and distorted the reality of the Bush government has become, this scathing "criticism" amounts to Liberman's comment that:
"mistakes have been made"
and
"what a colossal mistake it would be for America's bipartisan political leadership to choose this moment in history to lose its will, and to seize defeat from the jaws of the coming victory."
The obvious problem with this "criticism" is that, far from contradicting or countering the policies of the Bush administration or the words of Bush himself, it actually supports them!

But just in case anyone was confused by this fact, Bush clarifes the issue for us all:

"There's an important debate going on in our nation's capital about Iraq," Bush said. "And the fact that we can debate these issues openly in the midst of a dangerous war brings credit to our democracy."
So there you have it. Despite the appearance that there is no representation in American politics and both parties are actually pursuing the same illegal objectives, Bush assures us that open debate and calling to account is still very much the reality in Washington, the fact that it is all for the purposes of deceiving the public is totally irrelevant.

As for all of Bush's claims about the rebuilding of Iraq, most, if not all, of them are either out and out fabrications or severe distortions of the truth. Saddam posed no threat to the US. Under Saddam, Iraq was one of the most developed nations in the Arab world. The US invasion of Iraq destroyed the infrastructure of the country, 100,000 Iraqi civilians are dead, millions of Iraqis do not have basic services like electricity and clean water, even less have jobs that bring home enough money to feed their families. Israeli forces are hard at work to foment ethinc violence in Iraq in the hope of igniting a full scale civil war.

We say it again; Iraq has been devastated by the US invasion and is in the process of literally being taken apart by US and Israeli agents. The Iraq invasion was but the first step in a plan to start a broad war in the Middle East, that will ultimately involve Israel, and in which millions will perish, Jew, Christians and Arab alike.

All of this is clear for those who care to look with unbiased, objective eyes, for the rest, you are free to continue to swallow the lies of Bush and Co.

Dear Abby:

With all the focus on the outing of [at least one] CIA agents in the news pointing to Libby and Ledeen, our Vice President’s advisors, and the NYT reporter, Judith Miller, I have noticed many stories that [anecdotally] indicated these persons are [also] Jewish. Now don’t get me wrong, many close to me are Jewish, but few of them would fabricate stories that would attempt to bring harm to someone or draw the nation into a war that has killed thousands of Americans and Iraqis.

But, this story perked my interest as to the make up of our government based on religious affiliations. I have read that the Clinton White House staff enjoyed a 55% Jewish ratio, while our current White House only enjoys a 35% Jewish staff. I also learned than many private employment agencies in DC specialize in the placement of Jewish prospects. I have not learned of any agencies that specialize in placing Christians in our government. Of course, that does not mean there are none.

It is disturbing, however, to think that most of the 98% of Americans that do not practice the teachings of Judaism, are too incompetent or simple minded to participate in the decisions of our government at a ratio that more honestly expresses the demographics of our great country

WASHINGTON, Dec. 6 - In a major defeat for law enforcement officials, a jury in Florida failed to return guilty verdicts Tuesday on any of 51 criminal counts against a former Florida professor and three co-defendants accused of operating a North American front for Palestinian terrorists.

The former professor, Sami al-Arian, a fiery advocate for Palestinian causes who became a lightning rod for criticism nationwide over his vocal anti-Israeli stances, was found not guilty on eight criminal counts related to terrorist support, perjury and immigration violations.

The jury deadlocked on the remaining nine counts against him after deliberating for 13 days, and it did not return any guilty verdicts against the three other defendants in the case.

"This was a political prosecution from the start, and I think the jury realized that," Linda Moreno, one of Mr. Arian's defense lawyers, said in a telephone interview. "They looked over at Sami al-Arian; they saw a man who had taken unpopular positions on issues thousands of miles away, but they realized he wasn't a terrorist. The truth is a powerful thing."

Comment: This verdict is indeed a setback for the US government who prosecuted the case, but it is a more severe blow for Israeli interests in the US who are the real motivating forces behind the case and who were seeking to further intimidate and demonise as "terrorist supporters" all decent people who can clearly see the injustice of Israeli government policies towards Palestinians.

A visit from Rice on Tuesday, intended as a bridge-building trip with Merkel's new government, veered badly from the intended script when the Masri case was raised.

While Merkel told reporters Washington had acknowledged it made a mistake in detaining him, a senior U.S. official said Rice had said no such thing.

"We are not quite sure what was in her head," he said, referring to Merkel.

German media seized on the embarrassing contradiction.

WASHINGTON - From the Strategy for Victory in Iraq to "Recovery Channel" TV on federal disaster relief, the Bush administration's spin operation is in high gear, aiming its message directly at the American public as it critiques the mainstream media.

There has been plenty to spin: since George W. Bush's August vacation in Texas, when grieving military mother Cindy Sheehan camped outside his Crawford ranch, the president has had to deal with a perceived sluggish federal response to Hurricane Katrina, the failed Supreme Court nomination of Harriet Miers, the 2,000th U.S. military death in Iraq, the investigation into who leaked a covert CIA operative's name and the indictment of White House aide Lewis "Scooter" Libby.

The greatest marketing trick of the 20th century was the positioning of propaganda.

Marketing is propaganda. Positioning propaganda as distinct from other forms of marketing is state-of-the-art persuasion.

The definition of Propaganda varies greatly by source. The Catholic Church coined the word “propaganda” in 1622 within the Sacra Congregatio de Propaganda Fide, which was commissioned by Pope Gregory XV. One of Pope Gregory’s accountants came to the conclusion that it was more cost effective to teach Catholicism than to invade and force conversion. The accountant had the insight to recognize that a territory could be acquired less expensively by converting people’s minds. It might take more time, but if you convert the minds, the bodies will follow. And, converting minds is less expensive than physically enforcing new sovereignty.

Is criticism of Israel anti-Semitic if it uses the same kinds of images as those long used to attack Jews?

That question will be posed by an exhibition of anti-Semitic art appearing in London early next year that was inspired in part by a three-year-old political cartoon that showed a naked Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon eating a Palestinian baby.

The exhibition, using images from a Jewish doctor's private collection, will be held at a London gallery that was fiercely criticised by Israel and Jewish groups when it gave its top annual award to the Sharon cartoon.

Comment: Have a look at the cartoon in question:

Anyone familiar with the reality of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will immediately recognise the cartoon as a shocking yet accurate portrayal of the actions of Sharon and members of his government over the past 5 years.

The labeling of such presentations of fact as "anti-Semitic" by certain "Zionist" groups therefore, merely provides more evidence that in the opinion of such groups, ANY criticism of the Israeli government or its policies is also anti-Semitic, and from there we draw the conclusion that the truth too must be anti-Semitic.

It’s impossible to fit a square peg in a round hole. It’s equally as impossible to fit a large 757 airliner through a small hole like left in the Pentagon wall after 9/11.

And this is just one of the many examples that the official 9/11 story makes no sense. In fact, it makes about as much sense as trying to keep jamming that square peg into that proverbial round hole.

However, while the feds fiddle with pegs that don’t fit, the 9/11 debate rages on across the country, mainly among the fringe truth movement groups whose numbers are small.

And this is precisely where politicians want the debate to remain, away from the public’s ear, since so far they have been dealt a winning 9/11 hand, knowing any serious measure to bring justice has been effectively cut-off.
