Best of the Web: Analysis reveals the US cities Biden is flying hundreds of thousands of migrants in controversial program, sparking national security fears

undocumented migrants 1
A new analysis reveals which U.S. cities where the majority of the migrants are arriving on President Joe Biden's program flying up to 30,000 undocumented migrants each month to be released into the U.S.
The vast majority of migrant flights President Joe Biden's White House is transporting directly from foreign countries to U.S. airports to bypass the southern border are landing in Florida.

A new analysis from the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) reveals that 326,000 migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela arrived in Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' state since the program started in January 2023.

Lawyers for Biden's immigration agencies refused to disclose through a FOIA request data on which airports were receiving the undocumented migrants, claiming it would compromise safety and create national security 'vulnerabilities.'

While the latest analysis reveals the eight cities with the highest number of arrivals, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) revealed last month that the flights landed in at least 43 different American airports from January through December 2023.

Soldier claims 'nobody willing' to join Ukrainian army - media

Draft evasion in Ukraine has taken extreme forms, a soldier serving with the infamous neo-Nazi Azov regiment has reportedly told local news outlet TSN. "Literally no one" is willing to go to the front lines, the serviceman allegedly claimed.

The man, identified only by his combat nickname 'Niko', said he continues to fight despite being injured and losing his leg in battle because there is simply no one to replace him.

"No one is willing to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine nowadays," he told TSN.

People "do whatever they come up with" to escape the military draft, including "swimming across the Tisza River and drowning themselves in there," the soldier said. He was referring to recent reports about dozens of men losing their lives in attempts to flee Ukraine and avoid being conscripted amid the conflict between Moscow and Kiev.

The plan to target menthol flavored products had divided the African-American community, the Democrats' traditional base.

The White House has indefinitely postponed plans to ban menthol cigarettes, after polls showed a drastic drop in African-American support for President Joe Biden ahead of the November election, according to the Wall Street Journal.

About 81% of black smokers used menthols as of 2020, the year when Biden got 91% of the black vote. Recent polls showed only 68% of African Americans planning to support the Democrat this time around, however.

"It's clear that there are still more conversations to have, and that will take significantly more time," Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra said in a statement on Friday, noting the feedback the proposed ban received from civil rights and criminal justice reform groups.

The ban was first proposed in April 2021, as part of Biden's "Cancer Moonshot" initiative. The White House argued that outlawing menthol cigarettes would help "people of color" improve health outcomes. Menthols account for more than 30% of all cigarettes sold in the US each year, and are the most popular among black and Hispanic smokers.

Power outage at major UK airport causes havoc for travelers

stansted

A power outage has brought a major airport to a grinding halt as passengers crowd inside the terminal building. Stansted Airport in Essex has suffered a malfunctioning of nearly all its systems, including security, check-in desks and baggage conveyor belts.

Bosses at the airport have apologised for the inconvenience caused, but travellers have been caught up in such chaos that some have reported missed flights. Pictures from passengers show wall-to-wall of people waiting to collect luggage in what is assumed to be arrivals.

A spokesman for Stansted said: "Apologies for any inconvenience caused. We are experiencing an ongoing partial power outage that is affecting a number of airport systems, including check-in, security and baggage."

Comment: The above incident is notable because it's just the latest in a litany of outages and disruptions effecting critical - below is just a small selection of other incidents:

Bird flu detected in India results in quarantine of 2 doctors, 6 workers

Amid a bird flu outbreak in Ranchi, two doctors and six staff members of the Regional Poultry Farm in Hotwar have been quarantined at the JSIA building in Ranchi, which has been converted into a bird flu ward.

According to officials, a team of medical experts from Ranchi have taken the samples of infected people.

Almost all cases of H5N1 infection in people have been associated with close contact with infected live or dead birds or H5N1-contaminated environments.

The Ministry of Animal Husbandry has implemented various measures following the confirmation of the bird flu outbreak, including a complete ban on the sale and purchase of all birds and conducting surveys around the epicentre.

Comment: Whilst bird flu isn't yet looking like the WEF's desired 'Disease X', with mass culls, detections in various creatures, including cattle (that were fed the excreta of infected birds), strict border controls, and the concocting of another experimental mRNA injection, bird flu does at least threaten to cause significant upheaval: USDA claims bird flu is spreading in cows with detections in 32 herds in 8 states, is criticized for withholding data

Russia takes out major energy facilities in three regions of Ukraine

FILE: Ukraine's Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant.
Russia attacked Ukrainian energy facilities in three regions on Saturday, damaging equipment and injuring at least one energy worker, Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko said.

Comment: Injuring just one worker in such major strikes speaks to Russia's precision targeting, and its continued attempts to avoid civilian casualties.

Galushchenko said on the Telegram messaging app that the Russian strikes targeted the Dnipropetrovsk region in central Ukraine and the western regions of Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk.

DTEK, Ukraine's largest private energy company, said its four thermal power stations were hit.

"The enemy again massively shelled the Ukrainian energy facilities," DTEK said in a statement. "The company's equipment was seriously damaged. At this very moment, energy workers are trying to eliminate the consequences of the attack."

Military expert Alexander Zimovsky: The collapse of the Ukrainian energy industry turned out to be much closer than the Ukrainian authorities expected. After today's latest high-precision destruction of thermal generation facilities in the Dnepropetrovsk, Lvov and Ivano-Frankivsk regions of Ukraine, Zelensky was forced to come out with a special address "to the nation."

By the way, the Burshtynska Thermal Power Plant, in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, was covered with sea-based Calibers. Rumors about the final victory of Ukrainian naval drones over the Black Sea Fleet turned out to be somewhat exaggerated. And the skeptics were put to shame.

Best of the Web: Northern Ireland Unionist leader Jeffrey Donaldson and his wife appear in court on child rape charges

Comment: His party is the ultra-loyalist, ultra-'biblical' one representing Ireland's small but vociferously 'traditional' pro-UK, protestant christian minority...

Jeffrey Donaldson has made his first court appearance in Northern Ireland on sexual offence charges amid a heavy security presence.

The former Democratic Unionist party (DUP) leader is scheduled to appear at Newry magistrates court in County Down on Wednesday morning to face allegations of sexual abuse against two people.

It will be the first time the 61-year-old has been seen in public since 28 March when he was arrested and questioned along with a 57-year-old woman.

Comment: That would be his wife.

Comment: Polished media appearances only get you so far. Eventually, when you're a degenerate, the truth will out.

According to Belfast Live, Donaldson was charged with historic sexual offences against two children:
The man who was subsequently named by the DUP as Jeffrey Donaldson, was charged with rape, gross indecency and indecent assault.

His wife, subsequently named in court as Eleanor Donaldson, was charged with causing unnecessary suffering to a child, aiding an abetting a charge of rape and aiding and abetting and charge of indecent assault.
It has long been common knowledge in the north of Ireland that the Unionist community is run by sadistic pedophiles. This is 'official reality' just catching up...

Jill Stein has accused the Jewish state of committing "genocide" in Gaza

Jill Stein of the US Green Party has been arrested at a pro-Palestinian rally at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Stein's arrest came amid a nationwide crackdown on anti-Israel demonstrations.

Stein, her campaign manager, and her deputy campaign manager were among 100 people detained at a protest camp on Washington University's campus on Saturday. Video footage shows the 73-year-old being led away from the camp by three police officers, her hands apparently bound behind her back with zip ties.

Comment: A 73 year old member of a relatively insignificant political party is arrested for little reason. What is the story behind this?

3) Divisions among Jews: On April 24, 2024, British columnist and commentator Zoe Strimpel had an article published in the Jewish Chronicle - Anti-Israel Jews are worse than just antisemitic:
Long before American campuses became the sewers of open antisemitism we are seeing now, it had become clear that the traditionally progressive Jews of North America are part of the problem. A 2021 poll of Jewish voters found that a quarter of respondents agreed that Israel is an apartheid state. Other surveys show that more young American Jews feel that Israel has nothing to do with them since the current war. For many, the age-old excuse for anti-Israel rhetoric - "the government" - is deployed.
This came the day after the ISraeli PM made this outrageous claim: US campus protesters akin to 1930s Nazis - Netanyahu

Considering that Jill Stein is Jewish, Netanyahu's claim is all the more outrageous, but Stein is not alone in her disagreement with the Zionists.

Strimpel mentions Canadian author Naomi Klein, New York lawyer Stanley Cohen, Israeli historian Ilan Pappé, US politician Bernie Sanders, US linguist Noam Chomsky, the UK academic Jacqueline Rose. Also from the UK:

What Zoe Strimpel writes at the end of her article is like an introduction to a novel about serious trouble ahead.
But to me, now, whatever rituals they perform, they are useless Jews. Superfluous. In the enemy camp, working against all who believe "never again".

Klein, Rose, Pappé, Chomsky and co may keep advocating for boycott and disinvestment. I extend the same desire to boycott them, their poisonous spewing and the "false idol" of their version of Judaism.
4) A quick look at Jill Stein's Wiki may help to set the stage for what she is doing. Born May 14, 1950, she is a descendant of Russian Jews living in the Midwestern United States, and had her career in Massachusetts in the Northeastern United States, where she practiced internal medicine for 25 years and also had teaching positions at medical schools.
Her campaigns for president have focused heavily on the proposal of a Green New Deal, [...]

In 2023, it was announced that Stein would help run Cornel West's 2024 Green Party campaign for president.[2][3][4] After West withdrew from the Green Party to continue his campaign as an independent, Stein launched her campaign for the Green Party's 2024 presidential nomination.[5]

The links are not an encouragement to read the articles, but the topics and headings give an idea of the political context that has surrounded her activities:

Hamas would lay down arms if an independent Palestinian state is established, militant group says

Khalil al-Hayya

A top Hamas political official told The Associated Press the Islamic militant group is willing to agree to a truce of five years or more with Israel and that it would lay down its weapons and convert into a political party if an independent Palestinian state is established along pre-1967 borders.

The comments by Khalil al-Hayya in an interview Wednesday came amid a stalemate in months of talks for a cease-fire in Gaza. The suggestion that Hamas would disarm appeared to be a significant concession by the militant group officially committed to Israel's destruction.

But it's unlikely Israel would consider such a scenario. It has vowed to crush Hamas following the deadly Oct. 7 attacks that triggered the war, and its current leadership is adamantly opposed to the creation of a Palestinian state on lands Israel captured in the 1967 Mideast war.

Who was responsible for the "Look Them in the Eyes" campaign?

street advertise
We all remember the harrowing "Look them in the eyes" (LTITE) messaging campaign of early 2021, aimed at levering compliance with Covid restrictions. By means of a series of videos and posters, we were confronted with close-up images of acutely unwell patients in intensive care units, ominous music and a voiceover beseeching us to tell them, nose-to-nose, that we never break the rules. Deploying materials that were heavily infused with behavioural science strategies ('nudges'), frightening and shaming an already overly scared population into obedience, this advertising initiative was widely considered to be the most controversial - and unethical - of all the public health communications during the Covid event.

But who were the key actors responsible for inflicting the LTITE campaign on the populace?

Comment: Surely to come: A next time, and again 'the test will be put to us'.
