It is easy to make appeals to God, to declare that "God is on our side". Bush and Hitler are not alone. It is the age-old justification on the part of oppressors and imperial powers - or imperial wannabe's - to appeal to God when they go off to conquer the "heathen".

Let's look for a moment at the cognitive dissonance such declarations reveal.

When we speak of a Creator, we speak of the force or conscience from whom all emerges. If "God" is the Creator of all that exists, then he is the Creator of all peoples, he has created all the planets, including this one. Any "God" that would align himself with any one people or place would be an imposter.

What does this tell us about a "God" that aligns himself with a piece of real estate on the eastern shore of the Mediterranean, with a supposedly "Chosen People" who claim they once inhabited this land in a great kingdom?

From this idea, one is drawn to conclude that the "God" of the Jews, Jehovah or Yahweh, is a usurper, seeking to put himself in the seat of the Creator. Well, tradition has the story of that being who tries to take the Creator's place. We know him as Satan, and Satan certainly would not hesitate to present himself as something he is not if it would further his aims. Moreover, given the actions of the worshippers of this "God", it is easy to believe that the being that guides their actions is truly Satan. The Christian fundamentalists in the United States, some of whom go so far as to call themselves "Christian Zionists", also believe that they are the new "Chosen People". It appears the God of the Fundies has the same operating procedure as the God of the Jews. What does that tell us?

By their fruits ye shall know them.

Take this reasoning one step further, to the inevitable climax where two "Chosen Peoples" duke it out for supremacy - after all, ultimately there can only be one "Chosen People" - and you have a truly Satanic strategy.

In looking over the geopolitical situation, we see that the world is being manipulated to a large degree by these two peoples who consider themselves "Chosen". The problems created by Israel as the "Promised Land" of its "Chosen People", supported and financed by Jews the world over who buy into the fairy tale, are clear. The Israelis need an unstable Middle East to be able to reclaim "Greater Israel", the mythical kingdom. The great Kingdom of David and Solomon never existed as portrayed in that famous piece of historical revisionism, the Bible. Archaeological work in Jerusalem has uncovered no trace whatsoever of the Temple of Solomon. The Israelis are basing their claims upon wishful thinking, and the rest of the world, in particular the Palestinians and their Arab neighbors, are paying the price. The Bible is not history, yet Christian scholars promote the fraud because their own faith depends upon the lie because the Christ principle has been reduced by the Christian Churches to the person of Jesus, reducing a spiritual truth to flesh and blood, as Mel Gibson so graphically portrayed. Do we see here as well the hand of the Fallen One?

But today is the Fourth of July, so we will focus upon that other group of "Chosen People", the citizens of the United States, who today head out to their barbeques and fireworks in another display of self-congratulatory narcissism.

Americans believe that their country is the pinnacle of progress - political, economic, cultural, and social. On their money it states "In God We Trust". They believe that their riches come from God, not guns, bombs, violence, and theft. Or if such unChristian activities have been necessary, they are justified because "God is on our side".

If there is one concept that you would think transcended national boundaries, skin colour, and language, it would be "God". In this light, the idea of a "Chosen People" is such a bizarre, outrageous, and self-annihilating concept that one would think we would have out-grown it quickly, if not outright refused it when it was offered.

How is it that people have been bamboozled into believing God has citizenship? In the US these days, there are probably some who think God is a Republican!

On these pages, we think that one's nationality, citizenship, colour, race, or language are unimportant. More than that, they can become distractions.

What is important is one's soul.

Ask yourself, what colour is your soul? What citizenship or nationality is your soul? Where was your soul born?

Ridiculous questions, aren't they? So why do we get so emotionally wound up about them? Why do we take to the streets for parades to celebrate something so unimportant as nationality? What did any of us have to do with choosing where we were born? Why should we make so much out of something that we had no say in?

Truly, in the words of Samuel Johnson, "Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel."

Yes, Virginia, there is a Democracy

Dear Editor,

I am 8 years old. Some of my little friends say there is no Democracy in America. Papa says, "If you see it in The Sun, it's so." Please tell me the truth, is there a Democracy?

Virginia, your little friends are wrong. They have been affected by the devil of critical thinking. They actually believe that our leaders would lie to us. Our ideals of American-style "freedom and democracy" are not comprehensible by their little minds. All minds, Virginia, whether they be men's or children's, are little, because I say so. In this great universe of ours, man is a mere robot, a machine, in his sleeping intellect as compared with the entropic world about him, as measured by the lack of accurate information in order to grasp the whole of truth and knowledge.

Yes, Virginia, there is a Democracy.

It exists as certainly as enemy combatants and martians exist, and you know that these repititious buzzwords give to your life its highest suggestibility for programming. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Democracy! It would be as dreary as if there were no Virginias. There would be no innocent children dying in foreign countries then, no abject poverty for those at home, no romance between psychopaths to make intolerable this existence. We should have no punishment, except in conscience. The oppresive darkness with which the Demiurge fills the world would be illuminated.

Not believe in democracy! You might as well not believe in terrorists. You might get your papa to hire Homeland Security jackboots to spy on all them crazy Arabs and free-thinking protestors on Independance Day to see what Democracy is, but even if you have never seen Democracy in action, what would that prove?

Nobody really sees Democracy, but that is no sign that there is no Democracy, because I say so. The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see, like the true nature of the powers that be.

Did you ever see terrorists dancing on the lawn? Of course not, but that's no proof that they are not there. Nobody can conceive or imagine all the potential terrorists there are unseen and unseeable in the world.

You tear apart a bomb to see what makes the noise inside, but there is a secret veil covering the unseen world none but the most rich and powerful men are aware, and not even the united strength of all the strongest men that ever lived, could stand up to them.

Only conformity, subservience, blind faith, and wishful thinking, will hold that curtain in place and so that you may never view and picture the supernal beauty and glory beyond. Is it all real? Ah, Virginia, in all this world there is nothing else as real and abiding.

No Democracy! Thank Jehovah! It lives and lives forever. A thousand years from now, Virginia, nay 10 times 10,000 years from now, Democracy will continue to feed the illusion of freedom in the hearts of children.

The Israeli Lobby Is America's Third Party

In 1956, as Eisenhower was campaigning for his second term in the White House, his Secretary of State appeared before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to discuss the Arab/Israeli conflict. Kieth Kyle, the author of 'Suez', records that John Foster Dulles was 'given a sharp reminder of the domestic political dimensions of his problem' and was 'subjected to several hours of questioning. Much of it, from such pro-Zionist Democrats as Wayne Morse of Oregon and Hubert Humphery of Minnesota, was of a hostile and sardonic nature.'

Dulles responded to the Senators with a remark that still rings true today. "Our difficulty derives very largely from the fact that the Arabs believe that the United States, when it confronts problems which relate to Israel, is in the last analysis dominated by domestic political considerations". According to Kyle's well documented narrative, Dulles expressed the hope that 'in the pending political campaign the discussion will be on such a level as to dissipate the idea'.

These Senate hearings took place on February 24, 1956. Dulles was so irritated with the Zionist lobby that a few days later, on March 2, he took the extraordinary step of taking up the issue with Abba Eban, the Israeli Ambassador to the United States. Kyle narrates that in a 'bitter dressing down' of the Ambassador, the Secretary of State complained of 'the political campaign being waged by the Israelis against the administration, the paid advertisements, the mass meetings, the resolutions, the demands of Zionist organizations, the veiled threats of domestic political reprisals'.

Back in 1956, an American President could actually confront the Israeli Lobby and still win a second term in office. Today, the new political math in Washington allows Netenyahu, an Ex-Prime Minister of Israel, to publicly instruct Bush on how to properly apply the 'Bush doctrine'. And just to make sure the President learns his lessons well, Netenyahu can round up 98 Senators to his 'Amen corner'.

Over the course of the last five decades, the Israeli Lobby has grown in power to the extent that it now amounts to a third major party with a political program that rivals the agendas of both the Republicans and the Democrats. Like the other two contenders for political power, the party of the Israel Firsters has enhanced its stature by shifting alliances and wooing new constituents.

AIPAC, the umbrella group of 'official' pro-Israeli pressure groups, is but a small component of this major third force in the American political process. What the Israel Firsters lack in terms of an actual demographic voting constituency, they make up for by having a major stake in influential media monopolies.

Let us begin with the obvious links between the mass media titans and what is essentially an ethnic lobby. Mortimier Zuckerman, the President of Major American Jewish Organizations, publishes US World and News Report. William Safire of the New York Times publicly acknowledges doing public relations work for Ariel Sharon. Thomas Friedman has spent two decades sanitizing the criminal war record of both Begin and Sharon. Ted Koppel boasts of his personal friendship with Netenyahu. At CNN, Walter Isaccson appears to be coordinating coverage with the IDF. Charles Krauthammer of the Washington Post likes to pose to the right of Netenyahu. Conrad Black, the Canadian media tycoon, publishes the Jerusalem Post, which reads like a semi-official publication of the IDF.

During the Clinton years, the keys at the State Department were handed over to operatives straight from the Israeli Lobby. Martin Indyk, former head of AIPAC was made ambassador to Israel. Dennis Ross, the 'mediator', also had ideological roots in the lobby. Eagleburger, Holbrooke and Albright are all dedicated Israel Firsters.

With the change in administration, a new batch of pro-Israeli activists moved into key positions. Ideologically, they pose as 'neo-conservatives'; a movement that even the New York Times reports is mostly Jewish. In fact, the proper definition of neo-conservative is an Israel Firster who wanted to be politically viable after the Reagan 'revolution'. To a large extent, the difference between 'neo' and the 'oldo' conservatives is the country they aspire to serve. The 'oldos' are America Fisters, while the 'neos' worship the 'old country', a mystical Yiddish supremacist apartheid state built on the ruins of Palestine on the shores of the Eastern Mediterranean.

In the last two decades, the Israeli Lobby has expanded its constituency to include a major new base among right wing Evangelicals who believe that Israel is always right. According to this very new and very American branch of Protestant Christianity, the bible says Israeli goons can kill and maim Palestinians, steal their land and place them under a constant stage of siege. Among the followers of this 'new religion' is one Richard Armey, the House Majority Leader, who has publicly advocated the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from the West Bank. This new 'constituency for repression' believes that Israel has biblical sanction to administer collective punishment and torture, destroy personal and public property and generally make life miserable for the native people of the Holy Land.

It makes little difference to these 'Zionist Christians' that the community they seek to 'cleanse' includes the oldest Christian community in the world. And it matters even less to the Israel Firsters that their doctrines also predict the mass conversion of Jews and the end of times.

Today, between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean, ten million people are locked in a bitter struggle over land and destiny. Nearly half of the population between the river and the sea are native Palestinians. Their desperate cry for liberty is not only ignored by America, but tens of billions in United States tax revenues are spent to assist their tormentors.

We have an American policy in the Middle East that serves the constituency of a third party that no American has ever voted for. It is an ethnic constituency that includes lunatic elements with visions of an apocalyptic end to our one common planet.

In the aftermath of the criminal assaults on America, we are long due for an investigation of the real cause of all our troubles with radicalized elements in the Middle East. Why is our Congress investigating the CIA, the FBI and the INS, when the real focus should be on the State Department and a catastrophic foreign policy that amounted to the appeasement of a belligerent foreign state run by war criminals? Why do we have an Israeli Lobby so powerful that it acts like a major political party and constantly tampers with our foreign policy to align it with the dictates of the Likudniks in Tel Aviv? What vital American national interest is served by the continued repression of the Palestinian people?

The deadly assaults against our shores on 911 could certainly have been avoided. But the notion that any American government would have sanctioned such an assault or been lax in attempting to stop it is a bit off the wall. Yet, the fact remains that both the Clinton and Bush administrations were arrogant enough to take foreign policy risks to appease the constituency of the Israeli Lobby, the phantom third party that has come to dominate public discourse on foreign policy. It was common knowledge that there would be a price to pay for the Gulf War, the Saudi military bases, the murderous economic blockade of Iraq and the humiliating occupation of the West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem and the Golan. If there was an intelligence failure, it was a failure to properly assess the potential cost of our errant foreign policies.

Congress is now interrogating the intelligence community. I would rather that the intelligence community started interrogating Congress. Perhaps the INS should be called upon to sort out our governors and find out which ones deserve ID cards to properly identify them as members of the third party. But since Congress is the designated investigator, perhaps they should call for the State department to come clean with the American people. How did so many members of the Israeli Lobby end up in such prominent positions at Foggy Bottom during the Clinton years? How many have found new homes in the Bush administration? Did they serve American interests or align themselves with Sharon's agenda? What measures can be taken to protect the State Department from the fundamentalist theology of the third party? Do certain ethnic publishers have an inordinate say in tailoring our policies in the Middle East and beyond? If Safire works for Sharon, should he still get a fair hearing with Colin Powell? I am certain that John Foster Dulles would have given a very candid response to all questions regarding the third party.

We are at a critical point in the history of the Republic and the world. It is essential that men of honor insist that proper scrutiny be paid to the third party. No rational discourse of the 911 disaster is possible without taking account of the ruthless nature of the operatives of the Israeli Lobby. Do not expect the New York Times, CNN or the Washington Post to instigate such a probe. They are very much part of the problem. It will be left to the brave voices of the alternative press to lead the charge and uncover some very basic truths about 911. The good news is that none of this is rocket science and the public record will eventually be set straight. Congress can investigate now or be investigated later.

Comment: We are running this article today because it shows what a lie it is to believe the Americans run there own country. What kind of a democracy is it when another country has such a large say?

Fans Want G.I. Joe in Toy Hall of Fame

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - G.I. Joe fans think it's about time the iconic action figure took its rightful place with the likes of Barbie, Silly Putty and Mr. Potato Head.

The little soldier's absence from the National Toy Hall of Fame prompted something of a war cry this weekend at the International G.I. Joe Collectors' Convention in Lake Buena Vista, where triumphant shouts of "Yo, Joe!" gave way to "Why no Joe?"

"G.I. Joe has more name recognition than virtually any other toy in America," said Brian Savage, director of the G.I. Joe Collectors' Club.

G.I. Joe is marking the 40th anniversary of his debut, fittingly, on the same weekend the nation celebrates its birthday.

The toy, introduced by Pawtucket, R.I.-based Hasbro in 1964, was the world's first action figure, and towered over the tiny plastic or lead toy soldiers that preceded it. About 400 million G.I. Joe figures have been sold.

"We like to say G.I. Joe has saved the world a million times over, one back yard at a time," Savage said. [...]
