Media reported more than 11,000 lightning strikes across the state during a storm on 07 March 2021. One person died from lighting strike in Córrego São José de Pancas, according to state Civil Defence.
Heavy rainfall was reported in several parts of the state. In 24 hours to 08 March, the municipality of Marechal Floriano recorded 149.00 mm of rain; Vila Velha 113.74 mm; Serra 108.51 mm; Cariacica 90.38 mm and Vitória 88.88 mm.

The winter in Moscow "broke out" with the snowfall
Spring has arrived according to the calendar, but instead has exploded in blizzards in Moscow and the Moscow region.
In VDNKh, at 9 am on March 7, the height of the snow was exactly 40 cm, and on the morning of March 8, it increased to 48 cm. The height of the snow increased more visibly in the area of Tushino: there the snow piles increased by 10 cm. At the weather station with the same name it is 55 cm.
The County of Maui said a breach of the Kaupakalua Dam near Haiku was reported during the afternoon of 08 March 2021.
"Emergency evacuations were ordered for everyone downstream of the reservoir dam in the Haiku area makai of Kaupakalua Road. People near heavily flowing streams were advised to evacuate or seek higher ground immediately." Evacuation centres have been opened in local public buildings.
The Maui Fire Department said it received more than a dozen calls for help from residents who were trapped in their homes because of rising flood waters.

Some Floridians were treated to a rare sight on Saturday: hail on the ground looked like snow.
"I moved south to get away from this. Who shovels in flip-flops?" a man asks as he clears the pathway in front of his home in a video posted to Twitter on Saturday.
"I thought he moved to Florida to escape the snow," the man's daughter, Meribeth Evans, says off-camera.
According to AEMET, in a 24 hour period to 05 March, 127.2mm of rain fell in Estepona in Málaga Province and 77.8mm in Tarifa in the province of Cádiz, both in Andalusia. San Roque in Cádiz recorded 92.6mm the following day.
Emergency Services in Andalusia (112 Andalucía) reported that they rescued a total of 55 people from flooded homes in Los Barrios in the province of Cádiz where the Palmones River broke its banks. Three of those rescued required healthcare for hypothermia. Areas around San Roque, Tarifa and Algeciras were also flooded and at least 6 roads in the province were closed as a result. 112 Andalucía said flooding from the overflowing Guadiaro River left several areas in Sotogrande cut off.
The rain in Spain stayed mainly in Águilas on Sunday morning, as rainfall inland swept down into the ramblas which disgorged into the Mediterranean, leading to lucky escapes for two vehicle owners, and left over 60mm of rain in Águilas itself.
The original forecast had been for the worst of the rain to hit Mazarrón and the Campo de Cartagena all around the Mar Menor, but in this area the maximum rainfall was around 40mm in Los Alcázares, leading to plenty of muddy puddles and minor flooding, but there were no significant problems as there have been in the past.
The cyclone hit today, generating gusts of up to 220km/h.
RRB radio reported a child was injured by shards of glass from a bay window during the storm.
About 20,000 people are without power and roofs have also been ripped off buildings in the town of Dumbea, on the outskirts of Noumea.
Several ships have also been forced aground on the coast in Noumea although, according to a provisional report, no major damage was recorded following the cyclone, the intensity of which was a little lower than expected.

20 INCHES OF SNOW BURIES ATLANTIC CANADA
The tail end of winter is hitting Atlantic Canada hard this week, particularly the province of Newfoundland which on Tuesday reported heavy snow, howling winds and blizzard conditions, according to theweathernetwork.com.
Conditions quickly began to deteriorate Monday night, and by Wednesday the snowstorm had delivered 30+cm (12 inches) to some parts. Heavy snow and wind chills of -20C (-4F) are persisting in northern sections and across Labrador where 20+cm (8 inches) of extra pow-pow is forecast before the close of Thursday, March 4.
