Heavy rainfall from 01 October 2020 caused flash flooding and landslides in the Adjara region of Georgia. At least 5 people are thought to have died.

A landslide struck in the village of Jocho, Khelvachauri municipality swept away a house and a vehicle, leaving several people missing. The country's Emergency Management Service (EMS) says that over 100 rescuers are working to find the missing individuals. As of 03 October, 5 bodies had been found with one more person thought to be missing.

Heavy rain caused flooding in other areas of the region, damaging homes and other buildings. EMS said they received 440 calls for assistance.

"Heavy rain fell on the Black Sea coast of the Krasnodar Territory.

The downpour also fell on Novorossiysk, where the high alert regime continues to operate.

In the vicinity of Novorossiysk, mud streams came down in some settlements, in some places the roadway was damaged or blocked.

Two people were confirmed to have died and several others missing on Saturday after torrential rain brought by Storm Alex caused devastating flooding along the French Riviera coast and inland areas. Bridges collapsed and roads were left submerged as rivers broke their banks.

The Alpes-Maritimes département was subject to a red weather warning - the highest alert level - as persistent downpours saw up to 350mmm of rain fall in local areas.

On Saturday morning as the rains eased the red level warning was lifted but the impact of the deluge was still present.

Authorities reported at least 12 people were missing including two fire fighters.

Ontario residents living near the Great Lakes have gotten quite a show this week, as weather conditions have been ideal for the creation of waterspouts for multiple days in a row.

According to The Weather Network, at least 29 waterspouts were confirmed in Ontario on Wednesday alone, and residents have been taking to social media to share photos and videos of the breathtaking phenomenon.

Lightning kills 2 in Jharkhand, India

Couple of people including a teenage boy lost their lives as lightning fell in Raipura village under Gola block of this district on Thursday.

Inspector Sanjay Gupta of Gola Police Station said that the deceased has been identified as Fatima Khatoon (20) and Khaleel Ansari (14). The duo had gone to collect sweet potatoes from a field when suddenly it started raining and to prevent themselves from rain they had taken shelter under a tree over which lightning fell and both of them died on the spot.

Upon receiving the information Ramgarh MLA Mamta Devi reached the village and spoke with the family members. She assured that as per provisions of disaster management department compensation would be provided to the families.

Flooding has affected tens of thousands of people in northern Bangladesh after days of heavy rain.

Among the worst hit areas is Rangpur district in Rangpur Division, where a record 433mm of rain fell in just 12 hours between 26 and 27 September 2020.

Heavy rains accompanied by hailstorms hit Istanbul, a metropolis with a total population of almost 16 million, on Sept. 29, interrupting daily life and paralyzing traffic.

The harsh weather conditions hit Istanbul's Silivri, Büyükçekmece, Çatalca and Arnavutköy districts, as well as some areas of the city's Asian side as of 12:30 p.m. local time.
