Adapt 2030 Ice Age Report: Is crustal displacement and uplift beginning?

Eight houses were swept into the sea by the powerful landslide in northern Norway

With a small portion of Norway's coastal range slipping into the sea, it does fit perfectly the time line intensification of our four gas giants forming a square in one quadrant of our solar system not seen since 79A.D during an intensifying Grand Solar Minimum.

My question: Does this signal the beginning of more intense global liquefaction events? Let me know what you think about the information presented, does it show a trend?

Geysers may be signalling magma intrusion under Yellowstone

Steamboat Geyser
© Jamie Farrell, USGSSteamboat Geyser erupts on 4 June 2018. Scientists examined how deformation and hydrothermal activity in the northern rim area of the Yellowstone caldera might be linked to magmatic intrusions kilometers beneath the surface.
Steamboat Geyser in Yellowstone National Park is an enigma. It is the tallest currently active geyser in the world, sometimes blasting superheated water over 90 meters (300 feet) into the air. Yet unlike the more famous Old Faithful, Steamboat Geyser runs on its own rhythm. Sometimes the geyser is quiet for decades and then suddenly bursts back to life. It is a mystery exactly why Steamboat has such behavior. After a new period of activity started in 2018, we might have more clues about what drives these steam-and-water explosions.

Yellowstone caldera is a geologic wonderland. It is the source of three of the largest explosive eruptions in the past 3 million years. The caldera itself covers over 1,500 square kilometers (580 square miles) in the northeast corner of Wyoming. As Charles Wicks from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) puts it, "Yellowstone's roots seem to extend all the way to the core-mantle boundary. In that dimension, it's a magmatic system of continental scale."

The Yellowstone caldera is packed with geothermal features like geysers, hot springs, mud pots, and geothermal pools. This hydrothermal activity is driven by the vast reservoirs of heat beneath the Yellowstone area, most of which comes from the magma found many kilometers underneath the caldera. All this heat and water mean the land surface at Yellowstone rises and falls frequently, meaning Yellowstone is best described as a "restless caldera."

Mother, child rescued after sinkhole swallows their car in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico

Outdated infrastructure was blamed for this sinkhole in Nuevo Laredo.
Outdated infrastructure was blamed for this sinkhole in Nuevo Laredo.
A mother and daughter were rescued unharmed after their car was swallowed by a sinkhole caused by intense rains in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, early Tuesday morning.

The sinkhole opened up beneath their 2010 Volkswagen Jetta at around 5:30 a.m., but despite the spectacular nature of the incident, the car remained right-side-up and the mother and her young daughter were not injured.

Firefighters and Civil Protection rescuers arrived on the scene to find the two on top of their car, which was surrounded by water and mud at the bottom of the hole, which was more than five meters below street level.

Sinkhole opens up and swallows floodwater in Bomet County, Kenya

sinkhole
Resident of Bomet County were treated to a shocking show of sink-hole that swallowed vegetation around it.

A sinkhole is a cenote, sink, sink-hole, swallet, swallow hole, or doline, is a depression or hole in the ground caused by some form of collapse of the surface layer. With area being swampy from the video, underground water current may have forced the water and vegetation to the inside.

From the details in the video, this geographical phenomenon may have been caused by the heavy rainfall that continue to pour across the country. The area in the video also seem to be swampy and this may explain why the vegetation around it were 'disappearing' underground.

Sinkholes can be natural or man-made. They are caused by either erosion or underground water. The video from Bomet strongly suggest that the sinkhole may have been caused by underground water.

A sinkhole emerged in the back parking lot of the Oxford (Mississippi) Post Office on Thursday morning, damaging one vehicle in the process.

The incident took place around 6 a.m., according to witnesses. The vehicle belonged to a post office employee, but was empty at the time it fell in and no injuries were reported, according to Oxford Police Chief Jeff McCutchen.

McCutchen noted the size of the sinkhole was at least "12 feet by 12 feet," if not larger, and similar to the sinkhole that emerged on Highway 6 East before the Chucky Mullins Drive exit in 2015.

SES crews have roped off a large sinkhole that has appeared in Melbourne's east as wintery conditions made an early appearance in Victoria

The 12-metre-wide and five-metre-deep hole in Kew developed in reserve about 3:15pm in what the SES said was a broken pipe for stormwater access belonging to the Boroondara City Council.

Council officials roped the area off to keep people safe amid fears it would continue to grow while it was raining and police were called to the scene.

Island off the coast of North Carolina that appeared then vanished has returned

Shelly
This photograph shows a 98ft-long sandbar in the spot previously occupied by Shelly Island
An island that disappeared off the North Carolina coast two years ago not long after forming is back.

Shelly Island, off the tip of Cape Point in Buxton, appeared in January 2017, eventually measuring one mile length-ways and 400ft across. But it vanished in early 2018 after being battered by a series of storms.

The landmass is proving to be resilient, though. A few days ago beachgoers spotted a 98ft-long (30m) sandbar in roughly the same spot that Shelly occupied, with photographs showing birds sunning themselves on it.

The photos were posted on Sunday to the Facebook page of Cape Hatteras National Seashore, which is managed by the U.S. National Park Service and protects that stretch of coastline.

Sappers Field has been closed until further notice because the sinkhole that has opened up is now approximately 140-foot deep.

The popular Wooburn playing field will be closed to the public for the foreseeable future, with a 60-foot deep chasm now underneath the sinkhole.

Wooburn and Bourne End Parish Council released a statement, which reads: "Sappers Field is closed because the whole of it, not just the area around the sinkhole, is potentially unstable and very dangerous.

"The sinkhole is approximately 140 feet deep, with an underground chasm stretching 60 feet from the centre. Any part of the field could collapse in a similar way.

Massive sinkholes in Gauteng, South Africa swallowing homes, roads

Residents from a Khutsong suburb outside Carletonville could soon be forced to leave their homes because of a sinkhole swallowing up giant portions of land, laying waste to properties and infrastructure.

Community leaders have accused the local Merafong City Municipality of ignoring geologists' reports which years ago said this the earth was likely to give way. The City confirmed that it plans to rehouse more than 25 000 residents.

Homes and streets have already completely disappeared in some parts, leaving residents in nearby areas worried that their properties could be next.

A stench from the broken sewer pipes hangs over the area. Some residents have taken to using the sinkholes as dumping sites.

In some places, owners have abandoned their homes which continue to fall into the sinkholes bit by bit. The situation is often worsened by heavy rain.
