Earthquakes
Mexico City Mayor Miguel Angel Mancera wrote in his Twitter account that there was no immediate word of damage or casualties.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake had a magnitude of 5.5 and its epicenter was in the sparsely populated mountains north-east of Acapulco, about 160 miles (260 kilometers) south of Mexico City. The quake was also felt strongly there, but no damage was immediately reported.
Because of its site on an unstable former lakebed, Mexico's capital often feels such quakes strongly even if they occur some distance away.
No casualties have been reported. The epicentre was located at the Arik Township. The quake struck at a depth of 10 kilometers.
Many people living in the county seat of Qilian have stayed outdoors after feeling strong jolt, according to the local publicity department.
So far, no casualties have been reported. The county has sent a team to the epicenter to learn the damage after the quake, state-run a news agency reported.
A 5.9-magnitude quake struck northern Afghanistan late Sunday, the US Geological Survey said, jolting the Indian capital and parts of Pakistan according to local reports.
The tremor struck 22 kilometres (14 miles) southwest of Ashkasham, 300 kilometres northeast of the Afghan capital Kabul, at a depth of 92.4 kilometres. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
The quake, which occurred at 02:16 am local time (1816 GMT), was felt across northern Afghanistan and northern Pakistan and in the Indian capital Delhi.
In October a 7.5-magnitude quake ripped across Pakistan and Afghanistan, killing almost 400 people and flattening buildings in rugged terrain that impeded relief efforts.
For many in Pakistan, October's quake brought back traumatic memories of a 7.6-magnitude quake that struck in October 2005, killing more than 75,000 people and displacing some 3.5 million.
Afghanistan is frequently hit by earthquakes, especially in the Hindu Kush mountain range, which lies near the junction of the Eurasian and Indian tectonic plates.
In Nepal a quake in April and a strong aftershock in May killed more than 8,900 people.
Large boulders and swaths of rubble detached off the mountain which precariously hung atop the lush sandy beach below, leaving much of the open area that welcomed thousands of tourists annually, completely wiped away.
The moment of the earthquake and the large landslides were captured on video by a fisherman whose boat was just offshore when the earth shook.
On Thursday, a 4.7 magnitude quake was recorded near Cherokee, Oklahoma around 1:42 a.m.
Just one day later, the U.S. Geological Survey reported several earthquakes in the Medford area.
The U.S. Geological Survey says a 4.6 magnitude earthquake was reported near Medford around 4:40 p.m. on Friday.
Just 13 minutes later, a 3.1 magnitude quake was recorded near Medford, followed by a 3.9 magnitude quake just two minutes after that.

The quake was felt in Saumlaki, the closest city to the epicentre, a local geophysics station officer said
The quake was felt in Saumlaki, the closest city to the epicentre, a local geophysics station officer said.
"We felt the quake for about 25 seconds, and it felt like a truck went past in front of the house," an officer at the geophysics station, Alva Rottie, told AFP.
The tremor prompted some residents to run outside, but the National Disaster Management Agency said the quake had no tsunami potential. Indonesia sits on the Pacific "Ring of Fire" where tectonic plates collide, causing frequent seismic and volcanic activity.

Monitoring by the Icelandic Met Office has recently revealed significantly greater seismic activity than any time since the 2014-15 eruption in the adjacent Holuhraun lava field.
Bárðarbunga is one of Iceland's most powerful volcanoes and is located under the country's famous Vatnajökull glacier.
The Met Office's Einar Hjörleifssonhas indicated that the situation is being monitored closely.
The tremors were felt at 9:45 am.
According to US Geological Survey, the fresh tremors were felt 25 miles northeast of Kathmandu.
National Seismological Centre (NSC) is reported to have said that the epicenter was at Nimlung in Sindhupalchowk district, The Kathmandu Post reported.
The NSC also said that the fresh earthquake was an aftershock of the 25 April Great Quake of 7.9 magnitude.
There have been no reports of damage or casualties following the quake.
Local media reports said that the earthquake was also felt in neighboring Kansas. Kansas-based KSN reported that the quake had affected Wichita, the largest city in Kansas, with almost 400,000 residents.
"It was a quick jolt with windows rattling with [the first waves], then 5-10 seconds later [the second waves] rattled windows and shook appliances and computer monitors," said AccuWeather Enterprise Solutions meteorologist William Clark, who felt the earthquake in Wichita.
Oklahoma has repeatedly seen seismic activity, which reportedly has links with fracking operations being undertaken in the area.

Comment: Across the planet generally volcanic eruptions and earthquakes are increasing. Very recent seismic activity in the Oklahoma area include:
- Seven earthquakes in seven hours shake Oklahoma-Kansas border area
- Multiple earthquakes registered in Oklahoma
There is growing evidence that fracking and earthquakes are linked:
