December 7, 2002 - PHOTOGRAPHER ARRESTED FOR TAKING PICTURES OF VICE PRESIDENT'S HOTEL - An amateur photographer named Mike Maginnis was arrested on Tuesday in his home city of Denver - for simply taking pictures of buildings in an area where Vice President Cheney was residing. - The agent told Maginnis that his "suspicious activities" made him a threat to national security, and that he would be charged as a terrorist under the USA-PATRIOT act. - When Maginnis refused to admit to being any sort of terrorist, the Secret Service agent called him a "raghead collaborator" and a "dirty pinko faggot." - The new police powers introduced by the USA-PATRIOT act, in the name of fighting terrorism, have been frightening in their apparent potential for abuse. Mike Maginnis's experience on Tuesday is a poignant example of how this abuse is beginning to occur.

Man Sentenced for 'Burning Bush' Comment - A man who made a remark about a "burning Bush" during the president's March 2001 trip to Sioux Falls was sentenced Friday to 37 months in prison. - Richard Humphreys, of Portland, Ore., was convicted in September of threatening to kill or harm the president and said he plans to appeal. He has said the comment was a prophecy protected under his right to free speech. -
Humphreys said he got into a barroom discussion in nearby Watertown with a truck driver. A bartender who overheard the conversation realized the president was to visit Sioux Falls the next day and told police Humphreys talked about a "burning Bush" and the possibility of someone pouring a flammable liquid on Bush and lighting it. "I said God might speak to the world through a burning Bush," Humphreys testified during his trial. "I had said that before and I thought it was funny."
Comment: Well, if this guy went to jail for that one, wonder what is gonna happen to us? After all, we freely say that Bush is the False Prophet and that many prophecies describe in some detail the fate of the False Prophet. In fact, that is certainly part of today's episode of As the World Turns...
Israeli helicopter attack on Gaza kills two UN workers - Ten Palestinians were killed yesterday in an Israeli raid on a refugee camp in the Gaza Strip, including two UN staff members. The deaths of the UN staff came two weeks after Iain Hook, a British UN worker, was shot dead by an Israeli soldier at his office in Jenin. A UN official in Gaza, Christer Nordahl, said yesterday that as many as eight of the dead in the Bureij camp were unarmed civilians.
These are the People George Bush Wants to Bomb - Since 1990, there has been a severe and prolonged deterioration in the standards of living of the vast majority of the inhabitants of Iraq. These problems have been detailed most clearly in two reports of the highest integrity, written in 1999. -
"Low birth weight babies (less than 2.5 kg) rose from 4% in 1990 to around a quarter of registered births in 1997, due mainly to maternal malnutrition. UNFPA and other sources such as the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies believe that as many as 70% of Iraqi women are suffering from anemia -
"The dietary energy supply had fallen from 3,120 to 1,093 kilo calories per capita/per day by 1994 - 95. At least 20 people were killed and some 100 others injured on Saturday in a string of explosions at four packed movie houses in northern Bangladesh. At least five of the injured died in hospital hours after their admission, the nurse in Mymenshingh town, 110 kms north of Dhaka, said by telephone. She said the hospital was overstretched with scores of injured to handle. Police earlier said 15 people had been killed and 50 injured.
Iraq Cites No Weapons of Mass Destruction - "The declaration will satisfy all the questions and will answer all the questions which have been addressed during the last months and years," said Lt. Gen. Hossam Mohammed Amin, the Iraqi official who oversaw production of the declaration, told reporters. Amin also said it would name companies and countries that helped Iraq develop unconventional weapons in the past. - Iraq's declaration will shift the crisis into a new stage, as Washington and Baghdad move step by step toward a crossroads between war and peace. - U.S. officials have not presented conclusive evidence Iraq has banned weapons. The White House said Thursday that "solid evidence" would be turned over to U.N. inspectors.
Palestinians arrest al-Qaeda 'poseurs' - Palestinian security forces have arrested a group of Palestinians for collaborating with Israel and posing as operatives of Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda terrorist network, a senior official said yesterday. The arrests come two days after Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon charged al-Qaeda militants were operating in Gaza and in Lebanon.
"The Palestinian Authority arrested a group of collaborators who confessed they were working for Israel, posing as al-Qaeda operatives in the Palestinian territories," said the official, on condition of anonymity. He said the alleged collaborators sought to "discredit the Palestinian people, justify every Israeli crime and provide reasons to carry out a new (military) aggression in the Gaza Strip."
FLASHBACK! Hamas history tied to Israel - In the wake of a suicide bomb attack on a crowded Jerusalem city bus that killed 19 people and wounded at least 70 more, the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, took credit for the blast. Israeli officials called it the deadliest attack in Jerusalem in six years. Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon immediately vowed to fight "Palestinian terror" and summoned his cabinet to decide on a military response to the organization that Sharon had once described as "the deadliest terrorist group that we have ever had to face."
Active in Gaza and the West Bank, Hamas wants to liberate all of Palestine and establish a radical Islamic state in place of Israel. It is has gained notoriety with its assassinations, car bombs and other acts of terrorism.
But Sharon left something out.
According to several current and former U.S. intelligence officials, beginning in the late 1970s, Tel Aviv gave direct and indirect financial aid to Hamas over a period of years. Israel "aided Hamas directly -- the Israelis wanted to use it as a counterbalance to the PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization)," said Tony Cordesman, Middle East analyst for the Center for Strategic Studies. Israel's support for Hamas "was a direct attempt to divide and dilute support for a strong, secular PLO by using a competing religious alternative," said a former senior CIA official.
Comment: And since we now know that the touted " son turning against the father" explanation given for the Taliban turning against the CIA is a crock of malarkey, I think we can pretty well figure out that Hamas is still an "intelligence asset" of Israel. Whether they know it or not, they serve the agenda of the Israelis. But, my guess is that they are NOT ignorant of their true master. I don't think that either the Taliban or Hamas or other militant Islamic groups are as stupid as they are being portrayed.
Outgoing House Majority Leader Dick Armey addressed a National Press Club luncheon this afternoon in Washington. He warned how the nation must guard against the "awful, dangerous seduction" of sacrificing freedom for safety in the fight against terrorism. "...the courage of America is being called upon more than at any time in my lifetime. And what I fear I hear is an echo chamber of voices in America that are saying, ``Give us greater dominion over your personal liberties and we will make you secure.''
Two more join the nation's unemployed - The stock market plunged [thursday] morning on reports that the nation's unemployment rate has jumped to 6 percent, and then it recovered on the news that the jobless will soon include President Bush's two top economic policymakers. The sacking of Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill and economic adviser Lawrence Lindsey within minutes after the unemployment report was a coincidence in timing, but the two were clearly related. The unexpected jump of 0.3 percent in the unemployment rate is a symptom of the economic problems that prompted the president to order a regime change in the economic policy shop at the White House. And the stock market's recovery was in essence a poll on the impending departure of O'Neill and Lindsey, which Wall Street interpreted as a sign the president is not only benching his backfield but revamping his offense.
The first question of this morning’s White House briefing came from John Roberts of CBS News. “What size shoe does the president have?” Roberts asked. “What size shoe?” press secretary Ari Fleischer replied. “I don’t understand.” “Well,” Roberts, explained, “there were size 10 1/2 footprints on Paul O’Neill’s rear end.” Fleischer made a face as if he had bit a lemon.
An "angry and hurt" Treasury Secretary O'Neill called Andrew H. Card Jr., the White House chief of staff. Mr. O'Neill told Mr. Card that if the White House wanted him out — after assuring him for months that Mr. Bush fully backed him — he was resigning immediately. This morning, Mr. O'Neill sent Mr. Bush a four-sentence letter of resignation and left immediately for his home in Pittsburgh. - Administration officials, who have been eager to distance themselves from an economic team that has been criticized for months by Republicans, Democrats and Wall Street, readily acknowledged that the method of the dismissals was brutal — and deliberately so. - Things began to change in recent weeks, administration advisers said, as the White House began preparing for what is described by Republicans as a major speech by Mr. Bush about the economy.
Today I want to review some things before we get on with the current events because it is important to know what has led up to the present day's news, and to have a context in which to view it. Please bear with me, as it will be worth it.
As everybody knows by now, the economy is taking a major dive. It's been in serious condition for some time now, but has recently been downgraded to critical. Regular readers also know that Michael Chossudovsky, Professor of Economics at the University of Ottawa tells us:
"The "war on terrorism" and the development of the authoritarian State are occurring at the outset of a huge global economic depresssion marked by the downfall of the State institutions, mounting unemployment, the collapse in living standards in all major regions of the world, including Western Europe and North America, and the outbreak of famines over large areas.
"At a global economic level, this depression could be far more devastating than that of the 1930s. Moreover, the war has not only unleashed a massive shift out of civilian economic activities into the military-industrial complex, it has also accelerated the demise of the welfare state in most Western countries.
"Five days before the terrorist assaults on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon, President Bush stated almost prophetically:
I have repeatedly said that only time to use Social Security money is in times of war, times of recession, or times of severe emergency. And I mean that. [September 6, 2001]
"The recession and war buzzwords are being used to mould U.S. public opinion into accepting the pilfering of the Social Security fund to pay the producers of weapons of mass destruction - i.e. a massive redirection of the nation's resources towards the military industrial complex."
Yesterday we included on this page a big chunk of a talk given by Phillip Agee - Producing the Proper Crisis - which also dealt with the issue of war and economics. In this piece, Agee asks: "Why would Bush seek a world crisis?" And the answer was:
"One thing we should never forget is that a nation's foreign policy is a product of its domestic system. We should look to our domestic system for the reasons why Bush and his entourage need this crisis to prevent dismantling the national security state.
"First we know that the domestic system in this country is in crisis, and that throughout history foreign crises have been manufactured, provoked, and used to divert attention from domestic troubles a way of rallying people around the flag in support of the government of the day."
When I was in high school, I had a rather unusual history teacher. He was a retired army intelligence officer. He taught our high school history class probably in much the same way he taught history to intell officers in the military, and we certainly were exposed to a much deeper insight into politics than most students at that age. It is probable that his training in thinking about history through the eyes of "intell" has influenced me all my life. I have never looked at "world events" as just "what happens" and "what you see is what you get" which is the view of most people.
The average person thinks history is boring or a tedious memorization of dates and events. Nothing could be further from the truth. History is the MONDO Whodunnit of all time. For fans of Sherlock Holmes or Agatha Christie, or other great mystery writers, history is a Maximum Impact, virtual reality game of Clue without rival. And politics is History in the making. In other words, "Current Events," as they called it when I was in school, is the ongoing drama between professor Moriarty and Holmes, as they play cat and mouse of crime and detection through space and time.
I could go on about my love of history and detection of the "unseen elements" that drive events as was taught to me by my high school history teacher, but I think the reader gets the point. So, let me tell you something he told us one day when we were working our way through the conditions of the planet that made it possible for Adolf Hitler to rise to power. What he told us that has stuck forever in my mind was the following: the German economy was so bad, the mark was so worthless, that it took a wheelbarrow full of notes to buy a loaf of bread. A man who went to a store with the requisite pile of money in his garden cart had to park it outside the market while he went in to get a few bags to carry the money inside. While he was inside, someone came along, dumped out the pile of money, and stole the wheelbarrow.
The story was meant to be a humorous example of how bad things were at that time, but it was also meant to convey to us the artificiality of monetary systems. There are any numbers of ways that a government can respond to an economic "situation." As Mr. Agee noted above, "a nation's foreign policy is a product of its domestic system," and the crisis of our domestic system has been building for a long time. What Mr. Agee doesn't seem to realize - and a lot of other economists do not seem to realize - is that "domestic crises" are ALSO manufactured, provoked, and used to generate the conditions for creating a foreign crisis. Back in November of 1995, I had a sort of "vision" about the economy which was extremely disturbing because I "saw" global effects of great suffering. I asked the C's about it:
Q: (L) Enough. The other day I experienced one of those extended pre-sleep states, and it seemed that I was in a class and there was someone explaining things to me. What they were telling me was that during this Christmas season, certain steps would be taken by those controlling the economy, and that after Christmas, in January and February, a whole lot of stuff was going to be put into motion to send the economy into a dive of major proportions. It was not clear that it was THIS year, but that it was right after Christmas. Can you tell me where this information was coming from, and what was I experiencing?
A: This is a long and complicated subject, but we will do our best to explain it. What you were seeing was one possible future. The economy of your 3rd density world is entirely manufactured. The forces that control it are both 3rd density and 4th density. There are conflicting opinions in the 3rd density sector right now as to when, where, and how to institute an economic depression. This has been "in the works" for quite some "time" as you measure it. So far, the forces arguing against institution of a collapse have prevailed. How long this condition will be maintained is open to many outcomes. Also, please be aware that the state of the economy is entirely an illusion. In other words, the world economy performs soley based upon what the population is told to believe. ... If you notice, all successful business people ...multiply their money, expand their horizons, continuously. They multiply their money by multiplying their output, thus their intake likewise. And the process is never ending, because they understand instinctively that it is part of a cycle. For the intake to continue, it must not be only retained, but must increase in order to keep pace with the ever spiraling cycle of increase and expansion. And, for this to happen, the output must be expanded accordingly. When it stops, it collapses. And this is how the Illuminati AKA The Brotherhood AKA The Antichrist creates a "Panic," by stemming the flow, even only slightly, and then broadcasting the created impression aggressively.
So what we are seeing is the production of a domestic crisis - an economic crisis - a panic - which can then be utilized to divert the "flow" into strictly military endeavors. It's the same old story over and over again. And, as Agee pointed out, the economic crisis is designed to do now what it was designed to do when Hitler came to power: "... long-standing American concepts of fair play must be reconsidered ... we must learn to subvert, sabotage, and destroy our enemies by more clever, more sophisticated and more effective methods than those used against us.It may become necessary that the American people be made acquainted with, understand, and support this fundamentally repugnant philosophy." And how better to do that than to make it a matter of "survival?" Hungry people are notoriously cranky and can be induced to do a lot of things they would not otherwise do.
At present, the chief concerns of the American people ARE economic. Agee quotes the stats for us:
"About one in three people are economically deprived, either in absolute poverty or so close that they have no relief from want. We also know that one-in-three Americans are illiterate, either totally or to the degree that they cannot function in a society based on the written word. [...] During the past 20 years these domestic problems have gotten even worse thanks to the Reagan-Bush policy of transferring wealth from the middle and poor classes to the wealthy, while cutting back on social programs. And, of course, they get away with cutting back on the social programs by proclaiming loudly and repeatedly that they are "cutting taxes."
Anybody who looks closely can see that the cutting of taxes amounts to feeding your dog less and less every day until you feed him nothing and then you are surprised when he dies.
Let me tell you a little secret: I spent a few years working for the State in the welfare office, interviewing and certifying Food Stamp recipients. At the time I was working there, I kept reading articles in the papers about "welfare fraud" and how awful it was for the people who were working to have to support those people who were not working, and how this was "welfare fraud." However, the workers in the welfare system knew that it was quite different. Nearly every recipient of food stamps had a full time job - only their full time job didn't produce enough income to pay for shelter, clothing and food. It was that simple. They needed help to survive. And certainly, some of that help WAS coming from taxpayers. But the majority of the money from the taxpayers was NOT going to help their friends and neighbors who needed help - it was going to pay for exhorbitant graft and corruption at high levels of government.
For example: there were a couple of "high profile" cases that made the news where some woman invented a hundred kids and applied for welfare for all of them and wore a mink coat and drove a cadillac, but that was vanishingly rare. However, the MAIN problem of "welfare fraud" that existed inside the agency was the fact that there were individuals at high levels who were counterfeiting millions of dollars of food stamps and selling them on the streets at 50 cents on the dollar via crime syndicates. It was understood that whoever was doing this had ACCESS to the PLATES and the serial numbers!
The cutting of taxes that Bush and the Gang proclaim so loudly is nothing but a ruse. He is just feeding the dog less and less every day, and this is what is behind the "usual litany of crises: education, health care, environment, racism, women's rights, homophobia, the infrastructure, productivity, research, and inability to compete in the international marketplace," all of which has produced an American nation "not only in crisis, but in decline as well. In a certain sense that might not be so bad, if it stimulates, as in the Soviet Union, public debate on the reasons. But the picture suggests that continuation of foreign threats and crises is a good way to avoid fundamental reappraisal of the domestic system, starting where such a debate ought to start, with the rules of the game as laid down in the constitution."
But, that is not what Bush is doing. Bush and the Gang are beating the drums of war as the "way out" of our crises the same way Hitler promoted "Lebensraum" as the way out of Germany's crises. And again, hungry people are cranky and pliable.
How many of you got a "Tax rebate check" just a few weeks before the 9-11 event? Clever maneuver, eh? Bush pays everyone a nice little bonus so they would all think he was a great guy just before he "burned the Reichstag." And now we have this from yesterday:
SHOCKER: 6% UNEMPLOYMENT! DOW PLUNGING - The U.S. unemployment rate jumped back to its highest level of the most recent recession and businesses slashed thousands of jobs from payrolls in November, the government said Friday.
Comment: Georgie Porgie pudd'n and pie, kissed the economy and made it die...
Flashback! PRESIDENT Bush displayed no interest in having Congress extend unemployment benefits before it adjourned for more than 800,000 jobless workers whose essential federal lifeline will expire right after Christmas. And a Happy New Year to you, too, Master of the Universe. The White House and the incoming Republican-controlled Congress are gleefully making plans for many more tax giveaways to benefit rich individuals and lavish loopholes to benefit corporations. But the victims of a wave of corporate collapses and employee downsizing in the shaky economy were stiffed by the GOP-controlled House of Representatives and the White House. The president ignored Democratic pleas to lean on his party's House leaders. The Republicans, flaunting their new political power, are practicing the Marie Antoinette school of economics. If the people are starving because they cannot pay the price of bread, let them eat cake. - The GOP's verbal sophistry is small comfort to the 820,000 jobless workers whose benefits run out Dec. 28 or the 95,000 whose benefits will run out the following week and every week afterward.
The Reader who sent in this link comments: Seeing this article by Marianne Means brings back childhood memories on the chicken farm. People on foot would stop and ask my father if they could work for food. Other times as Dad could afford it, he would give them $4.50 a week along with that midday meal. Young teenagers who lived around us joined the CCC, the Civilian Conservation Corp to go off and clean wooded areas ( I really think it was "make work" to balance out the meals being given to the young men. Then there was the WPA. I remember there was a crew who came around and installed "outhouses" , making them more sanitary than the usual. Those were bad times, and I do think that those times are here or are right around the corner. This environment and the opinions my father had about the Hoover regime and the Republicans left me a Democrat for life.
And then there is this interesting collection of headliners:
Poor foot the bill as New York goes bankrupt - The steps of City Hall, for many years empty of angry protests - especially since 11 September - were crowded and noisy again last week as New York City plunges towards bankruptcy, with the poor and middle class picking up the tab. First there were pensioners armed with placards reading 'Seniors Vote!', furious at the proposed closure of 32 daycare centres for the elderly. Then the firefighters - the heroes of 9/11 - demanding that eight fire stations due for closure be rescued. But these are just two measures on the table as the financially rotting Big Apple faces a deficit more awesome that at any time since the Seventies, an era all New Yorkers like to forget, since when the city is seen to have risen, phoenix-like.
FLASHBACK: Federal civilian workers won't see the full pay raise they were promised with President Bush's decision to cut the planned salary hikes because of the war on terrorism. The workers were to have received an average increase of 18.6 percent, but will now get a 3.1 percent raise. Comment: Now, let me try to remember... hmmm.... didn't we read some stories a few days ago about Bush's spending??? Ah, yes, here they are:
Homeland a megamerger mess - Last week, the Senate followed the House in approving the Homeland Security bill. The legislation will combine 22 existing agencies and 170,000 federal employees to create a new government department with at least a $35 billion annual budgetrequest.
Israel will ask the United States for 8 to 10 Billion Bux to bail out its failing economy. - The request for guarantees on foreign bank loans would be in addition to the $2.9 million in direct loans and grants that Israel receives annually from the United States, the official said. - More than 10 percent of the work force is unemployed and inflation has risen to about 8 percent this year. The official said the economic outlook could worsen if the United States attacks Iraq – which many fear could prompt Baghdad to fire missiles, or chemical or biological weapons, at Israel.
A federal appeals court Tuesday ruled that the U.S. government does not owe free lifetime medical care to World War II and Korean War veterans who agreed to serve 20 years in exchange, despite promises made to them when they were in the armed forces. The ruling represents a victory for the federal government, which had argued the veterans were not entitled to the benefits. The ruling will potentially save the government billions of dollars in health care costs.
Comment: Meanwhile, of course, we realize the Bush couldn't care less about the American People. Toronto Star: Bush is a Psychopath - By stumbling blithely along, he has been able to push his image as "just folks" — a normal guy who screws up just like the rest of us. This, in fact, is a central cog in his image-making machine, Miller says: Portraying the wealthy scion of one of America's most powerful families as a regular, imperfect Joe. But the depiction, Miller says, is also remarkable for what it hides — imperfect, yes, but also detached, wealthy and unable to identify with the "folks" he's been designed to appeal to. An example, Miller says, surfaced early in his presidential tenure. "I know how hard it is to put food on your family," Bush was quoted as saying. "That wasn't because he's so stupid that he doesn't know how to say, `Put food on your family's table' — it's because he doesn't care about people who can't put food on the table," Miller says. [...]
And then this interesting tid-bit which suggests to us the ways and means that we are being manipulated - by cleverly timed "releases" of information - which then suggests that there is a hidden agenda behind the smasing of the economy just now... how better to prime the public for WAR as well as to divert attention from any 9-11 inquiry????
Kissinger trots back into news on Turkey Day eve - All presidents attempt to manipulate the news cycle for their own benefit. The Clinton administration was fond of releasing troublesome documents to the press after the Friday night news shows so that the revelations would appear in the little-read Saturday papers. George W. Bush tried an artful variant on the same trick by announcing a stunning personnel decision on the day before Thanksgiving. - It is hard to imagine a commission chairman more likely to be sympathetic to White House requests that certain information be kept from the public, not on national-security grounds but to prevent embarrassment. - But so far, the facts lead to the conclusion that the White House not only acceded reluctantly to the commission but also handpicked a chairman who knows how to keep secrets.
Now, let's look at more of what is happening in today's episode of As the World Turns:
US slide prompts Bush purge - George Bush performed a night of the long knives on his economic team yesterday as the White House took fright at the deteriorating state of the US and world economy. - On a day which saw a sharp rise in US unemployment and a big drop in British factory output, Mr Bush forced the resignations of his treasury secretary, Paul O'Neill, and the White House economic adviser, Larry Lindsey. The move was seen by Wall Street as an attempt to clear the decks for a more aggressive economic policy, including tax cuts, that will prevent Mr Bush from following his father into the history books as a one-term US president. - Washington has been alive with rumours for months that Mr Bush was not happy with the increasingly vain attempts of his plain-speaking treasury secretary to talk up the stockmarket and the US economy. Interest rates have been cut 12 times over the last two years to a 41-year low of 1.75%, but the fragility of the US recovery was underlined by the surprise jump in the jobless rate yesterday to a nine-year high of 6%. The evidence of renewed weakness in the world's largest economy will cause alarm in Britain, where the chancellor, Gordon Brown, is counting on a strong international rebound, led by the US, to boost the UK.
Comment: Now, let's remember what the C's said about this: The Antichrist creates a "Panic," by stemming the flow, even only slightly, and then broadcasting the created impression aggressively. And in the above article, we see that this is exactly what is being done here. We also see that this has been "in the works" for months, with rumors of poor Bush just being so unhappy with his "advisors."
Al Qaeda says targeting Israel - according to a website that U.S. officials believe speaks for the organisation, the Washington Post has reported. Intelligence officials believe the website (http://www.mojahedoon.net) provides further proof of al Qaeda's determination to target Israel, the Post said in its Friday edition. Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said on Thursday that al Qaeda had established a presence in the Palestinian-ruled Gaza Strip and in Lebanon and that Israel was a target for al Qaeda attacks.
Comment: Now that we have a much better perspective on these machinations (see The Secret Cult) it is easy to see that there is, indeed, a probability that Mossad and the CIA are working in concert to "feed and sustain" the Islamic Militants, or reasonable facsimiles. And of course, many of the Islamic Militants are falling right into the trap the same way they did in Afghanistan in 1979. In other words, if the above is not entirely a creation of Mossad and the CIA to benefit their agenda (which we can see is the ONLY agenda it will benefit!), then it is simply a manipulation of a CIA "asset" to think it is doing one thing, while it is actually doing another. This is certainly the case with the "suicide bombing" of Israel for the past many years. And this, of course, leads us to the next item:
Russia plans to increase troops in Central Asia - to offset the deployment of US troops in the region. This was indicated by Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov on Thursday, in a statement, few hours before the arrival of the Russian President Vladimir Putin, in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek, after the conclusion of his three-day state visit to India.
Comment: Those readers who are now familiar with the investigations of Michel Chossudovsky, much of which we have presented in the above article: The Secret Cult, already know of the most interesting part that India and its intelligence service has played in the 9-11 "Terrorist Attack," and that they - and their Russian counterparts - are most assuredly "in the know" as to who is "on first" in this ballgame. We also know that Al Gore recently paid a visit to China to see what he could find out and to maybe parlay some game pieces into position. However, what is MOST interesting about this alliance between India and Russia and Iraq is the way it plays out in the prophecies of both Edgar Cayce and Revelation. In Revelation, the destruction of the Beast Empire - which is clearly identified NOW as the United States - is described in some detail which includes the following:
15:7 And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.
15:8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.
16:1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.
16:2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.
16:3 And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.
16:4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.
16:8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.
16:10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,
16:12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.
16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 16:14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. ...16:16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.
16:17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.
16:18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
16:19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
16:20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. 16:21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.
17:1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: 17:2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
All of the above, of course, describes the encounter of the earth with a cluster of comets as has occurred cyclically throughout the Earth's history as discussed in our book Ancient Science. We have assembled the many clues that the Controllers behind the scenes of World Affairs are represented by the Dragon. The United States Empire that became the dominant force in the world following WW II is, of course, The Beast that the Dragon placed "on the throne" of the world. And the current events of today follow so closely on that archetype that is is truly amazing to me that the Fundies who have been preaching about this for years cannot even see it. They are so convinced that it must be "over there" that they cannot see that they, themselves, are a part of it. But then, that also fulfills one of the prophecies about the "apostasy," the "falling away" of those professing to be Christians. The Great Harlot is, the Great City, is - of course - the United States proper - the geographical area of the "Beast Empire." So if you plug these terms into the above, while taking current events into account, it is easy to see the possible - or even probable - future of the United States under the leadership of George Bush - the False Prophet.
13:11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. [George Bush and the Warmongers]
13:12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast [United States] before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13:13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, [The War Machine, including Nuclear bombs]
13:14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. [Become part of the U.S. Empire]
13:15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. [The power of "giving life," is that of making war in the name of the Beast/U.S. Empire]
13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: [Bush and the gang are too smart to try to do this directly. They are going to do it under the cover of Smallpox Vaccinations. As the C's have pointed out, "Such inoculations are designed to make the nervous system more "appropriately tuned" to 4D STS "downloads" and manipulation." And so, right now, in the present day, right before our eyes, the Mark of the Beast is being imposed on human beings in this country and abroad...]
13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. [The Homeland Security Act insures that imprisonment is part of the consequence of refusing the inoculations.]
Getting back to the detail about the coming of the Kings of the East in the prophecy of Revelation. This is most interesting particularly in light of some comments made by Edgar Cayce and Nostradamus.
Nostradamus constantly repeats the themes of worsening conditions of the human race, war and political strife, and a great comet signalling the end of the world as we know it -- and, the beginning of a new order.
In the year 1999 and seven months
From the sky will come the Great King of Terror,
Raising again the great king of the Mongols,
Before and after Mars reigns at his pleasure.

The first event here is the coming of "The Great King of Terror" from the sky. The ancients knew Venus as the Queen of Heaven and Mars as the King of Heaven or King of Terror -- the god of war. There are several possibilities here. We already know that no great new comet appeared on the scene at this point in time, and there was no displacement of Mars. However, based on research we have assembled into our book Ascension, and additional research that is presented on this site in numerous articles, including our pages on the Nemesis Hypothesis, what is VERY likely is that during the observations of teh Solar eclipse of 1999, something WAS seen by the "powers that be," and this was the reason for the entire subesequent year to have been spent on putting things in place so as to get Dubya into the White House come Hell or High Water.
But, it may not even be that simple. We have the further problem of consideration of what, exactly, is the “seventh month.?” In our calendar, it is July. In ancient calendars, it was September. The words "Sept" means "seven." We certainly know that something very significant happened in September of 2001, so could there be simply a date glitch? After all, the C's have also said:
The forces at work here are far too clever to be accurately anticipated so easily. You never know what twists and turns will follow, and they are aware of prophetic and philosophical patternings and usually shift course to fool and discourage those who believe in fixed futures.
So, it would be entirely in keeping with such deception to manage to shift the date of the attack on the World Trade Center to NOT occur in 1999 because it would then be instantly matched up by followers of prophecy, and other matches would then be enabled.
In the end, my thoughts run in the direction of a sort of combination of both elements: the possibility of something “entering” the solar system, or becoming evident to astronomers and cosmologists at this time period, which is then concealed from the public, and is followed by the "preparations" which would include ensuring that the "creature" of the Control System is put into the Oval Office.
Nevertheless, this event enables the raising of the "Great King of the Mongols" which is pretty bizarre considering the remark in Revelation about the sixth angel:
"Then the sixth angel emptied his bowl on the mighty river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to make ready a road for the kings of the east." (Revelation 16:12)
Edgar Cayce, also pronounced a similar prophecy:
"If there is not the acceptance in America of the closer brotherhood of man, the love of the neighbor as self, civilization must wend its way westward -- and again must Mongolism, must a hated people be raised."
It is indeed odd that Cayce used a similar term as Nostradamus -- Mongols. In this respect, one of the more interesting of Nostradamus' quatrains is the following:
Mabus will soon die bringing
Dreadful destruction of people and animals;
Sudden vengeance will be revealed,
A hundred to hand, thirst and hunger,
when the comet will pass.II.62
The first question is: who or what is Mabus? The next question is: why does Mabus' death bring vengeance, death and destruction, thirst and hunger; and how is this all tied in with the passing of a comet?
The somewhat standard interpretation of a number of people, until recent times, was that a world leader would die at the passing of Halley's comet leaving no strong leadership which would then enable a cruel dictator to come to power who would use and abuse the population of the world and take us all into a war. It’s clear that this idea was a bust, so we have to think more creatively here. So, I have rearranged the quatrain so that it follows a more linear structure:
When the comet passes, Mabus will die
Revealing vengeance and dreadful destruction with
a hundred dying at each blow. Those not killed
will suffer thirst and famine.
Knowing Nostradamus' penchant for puns and anagrams, I puzzled over the name Mabus for a long time. I noted that, with the exception of the insertion of the "b" Mabus could be a combination of the names "Mars" and "Venus." In many Latin root languages, the use of a "b" or "v" is interchangeable.
In a reference from the book of Daniel in which he predicts the "arising" of the archangel Michael to "save" the people, and a connection between the archangel Michael and the planet Venus made by Velikovsky, leads us to think that this quatrain may be more obvious than previously thought.
Based on our own collection of facts and data, it seems very likely that, at various cyclical periods, there are disruptions in the Solar system of exactly the sort described by Immanuel Velikovsky and others, which includes a disordering of the orbits of the planets. Could it be possible that this quatrain describes something entering our solar system and disturbing the orbits of Mars and Venus? Might it be possible that such an event could send them hurtling toward the earth, perhaps to crash together, becoming, literally “Mavus,” which "dies" with the impact, sending great chunks of debris raining down on our planet killing hundreds of people at a blow?
Revelation predicts:
"The first angel blew his trumpet, and there was a storm of hail and fire mingled with blood, cast upon the earth, and a third part of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.
"The second angel blew his trumpet and something resembling a great mountain, blazing with fire was hurled into the sea. And a third of the sea was turned to blood, a third of the living creatures in the sea perished, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
"The third angel blew his trumpet, and a huge star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it dropped on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. And the name of the star is Wormwood. A third part of the waters was changed into wormwood, and many people died from using the water, because it had become bitter.
"Then the fourth angel blew his trumpet, and a third of the sun was smitten, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that the light of a third of them was darkened, and a third of the daylight was withdrawn..." (Revelation 8:6-21)
Velikovsky examined the story of the Exodus and found evidence that the turning of the waters into "blood" could possibly explained by red comet dust raining on the earth. This seems to imply a cometary impact of some kind though sorting it out is a real can of worms!
Is the coming of the "King of Terror" actually the entry into our solar system of a cyclical companion star, a Brown dwarf? Or is the "King of Terror" George Bush, who is generating so much "contact potential difference" in the United States' geographical area that it is a certainty that this is the area that will be "cleansed" by any future cataclysmic activities? In this sense, is George Bush one of the "Mongols" in the sense that Mongols are understood historically as marauding barbarians? As the C's have pointed out:
Disasters involve cycles in the human experiential cycle which corresponds to the passage of comet cluster. Human cycle mirrors cycle of catastrophe. Earth benefits in form of periodic cleansing. Time to start paying attention to the signs. They are escalating. They can even be "felt" by you and others, if you pay attention.
There is certainly more to the use of this particular term than meets the eye, but we will leave it at present. Apparently the destruction from this last event involves only a third of mankind immediately. But, it is implied by Nostradamus' references to famine and thirst that water is ruined and a darkening of the atmosphere would prevent the natural growing cycle and bring on famine as described in Revelation. That both of these previous quatrains possibly refer to the same event -- suggesting cosmic activity between Mars, Venus, and a possible unknown body may be indicated by the following:
The world is nearing its final period,
Saturn is late again on his return,
The empire will move toward a dark nation...
Narbonne shall have her eye picked out by a hawk.
III.92
Saturnalia, the celebration of the return of the lengthening of days and the beginning of the growing season, occurs on the winter solstice. An implied second delay to the return of the light indicates that some event has left the earth shadowed in wintry darkness for a considerable period of time. This gives insight to the repeated references to extreme famine. The C's have also pointed out that:
One change to occur in 21st Century is sudden glacial rebound, over Eurasia first, then North America. Ice ages develop much, much, much faster than thought.
And certainly, in such an event, the peoples of Eurasia might be expected to make intense efforts to migrate Westward - by peaceful means or otherwise. I do not, however, think that it necessarily refers to Mongolia or people from the East in any normal sense. I hesitate to speculate on this matter, but I tend to think that this “Dark Nation” or “Mongols” has an altogether different meaning, and it refers to darkness in strictly spiritual terms. At another time, Cayce made a rather peculiar remark that may have some significant relationship to this “Dark Nation” and “Mongol” matter.
Q: If Armageddon is foretold in the Great Pyramid, please give a descrption of it and the date of its beginning and ending.
A: …It will be as a thousand years, with the fighting in the air, and – as has been- between those returning to and those leaving the earth. [Carter, Mary Ellen, Edgar Cayce on Prophecy, 1968, Warner, New York, p. 112]
A thousand years of fighting in the air? Between those “returning to and those leaving the earth?” Most peculiar.
The next quatrain either amplifies the single cometary event with more detail, or describes an additional event. I hope it is the former because I am sure there are limits to how much a single afflicted planet can take! But, if the scientists are correct in everything except their timing, and the Oort cloud does shower us with billions of comets, then the latter explanation would stand.
After great misery for mankind, greater approaches,
The great cycle of the centuries begins renewal,
Rains of blood, milk, famine, war and disease,
In the sky, fire dragging a great trail of sparks.
II.46
This verse echoes the previous ones as well as the events in Exodus and Revelation: rains of ferruginous pigment; rains of carbonaceous substances making the waters milky; famine, disease and war. I don't believe it is important to place this event in a "timeline" based on any strict interpretation of the date of the "Millennium." What is being said is that a "great cycle of the centuries begins renewal," and this may have no bearing whatsoever on our arbitrary calendrical systems. "Fire dragging a great trail of sparks" does not sound anything like a missle. It sounds like a comet. A missile does not become fire until impact.
The next quatrain is most interesting in that I feel it has long been a stumbling block to interpreters of Nostradamus. We must keep always in mind the fact that Nostradamus had a great fondness for playing with words in addition to the usual interpretative problem of dealing with archaic vernacular.
The great star will burn for seven days,
The cloud will make the sun appear double,
The big dog will howl all night,
When the great pontiff changes his territory.
II.41
There are three elements to consider here: The burning star which appears "double"; the "big dog"; and the traveling "pontife". Most interpreters have depicted the pope fleeing by night while his dog mourns his departure during the seven day passing of a comet!
First, does Nostradamus mean a flaming comet in his description of the burning star, or does the second line amplify that the sun itself is in a state of expansion? If so, what is the cause? I am reminded again of St. Malachy's "de Labore Solis" as the motto of the Present Pope. Hmmm...?
Could it be that a comet is held in the embrace of the earth's magnetic field for a period of seven days, positioned in front of the sun so that the sun appears doubled in size?
But, if it were a comet and those circumstances prevailed, the earth would be so blanketed with dust from the volcanic and earthquake activities that such a sight would be impossible from the earth's surface. Of course, if we were seeing a comet approach from the direction in which the sun lies, at a distance, we could view it without disruption in the atmosphere until it gets much closer. And, it could take seven days for this thing to reach a point that it disrupts the orbital motion of the earth. Whichever it is, the second two lines are the result. And, not to be facetious, I don't think it would be at all significant that the pope changed his residence and left a broken-hearted hound if the earth were being shaken by a cosmic event!
The "Big Dog," considering Nostradamus' interest in astrology and astronomy -- and his frequent use of such allusions -- I think must refer to Canis Major... Big Dog.
"Pontife" may very well be a play on words -- "pont", or "point" -- axial orientation. The traveling pontife could refer to a shift of the axis of the earth toward a new Pole Star as a result of a seven day encounter with a great, burning star, or comet!
That the dog howls all night after the residence change must indicate that Sirius, the Dog Star -- one of the brightest in the heavens, is somehow a clue to the solution of this quatrain. What we DO know about Sirius is that it is a binary - even a ternary - star system. So, perhaps our own "companion star" is being indicated here as the "Big Dog." A review of our research into Sirius/Sothis in Ascension certainly might give some clues here. The C's have said about Sirius:
Sirius was regarded highly in your "past." "From whence cometh, is seen that which knows no limitation."
Of course, the description of a flaming star which appears double could refer to a supernova visible for seven days. But then, what would be the impetus for the axial shift? Of course, we could revert to the idea of a traveling pope who flees the Vatican at the same time Sirius explodes! But then we would ALL be fried! While we are getting a sort of idea of cosmic catastrophe in all of these prophecies, we have to be careful about settling upon any one interpretation.
One commentator, Vaughn, in his book "Patterns of Prophecy," remarks about the following quatrain that: "(this) seems to say that when the moon and the sun are eclipsed, then another celestial body will become visibly red..."
The moon shall be obscured in the deepest darkness,
Her brother shall pass being of a ferruginous color,
The great one long hidden under the shadows,
Shall make his iron lukewarm in the bloody rain.
Of course, the "Great One long hidden under the shadows" could be a companion star to our own solar system - a brown dwarf - a "little brother" - which begins to glow red as it approaches perihelion:
A: What would happen if the brown star that is the sun's twin were to get close enough to be illuminated by the sun?
Q: (T) Well, if it were close enough to be illuminated, the obvious result is that it would be SEEN. People would panic...
A: Yes.
Q: (T) Governments would fall...
A: And terror and chaos. And when it departs again?
Q: (L) Everything will seem to be fine! But, they won't realize that the Oort cloud has been hit! Oh, sugar!
A: And then what?
Q: (L) It is not the Oort cloud or the comets that is going to cause all this terror and carrying on, it is going to be the seeing of the illuminated brown star, which will go away, and then no one will see what is coming! And this IS talked about in both the Bible and Nostradamus - but it was incomprehensible before! Okay, how long will it take the comets to get from the Oort cloud to here?
A: Let us just say that the cluster travels much faster than the usual cometary itinerary.
Q: (T) And this is because they are traveling in the wake of a large sun sized gravity well...
A: And we have spoken of the comet cluster before, and we have told you that this time, it rides the Wave.
Nostradamus writes:
"When the eclipse of the sun shall be at noonday, the monster shall be seen..."
We know that the eclipse that fits this description occurred in the neighborhood of Paris at 11:09 U.T., on August 11, 1999. And again, we point out that it was in the following year that George Bush was placed on the Throne of the Beast... and that a year following that, the WTC disaster occurred, so it seems that all of these pieces may be fitting together if we open our minds and allow some flexibility to interpretation, accounting for the fluidity of reality. Let's just look at Revelation again for a moment:
"Then the fourth angel emptied out his bowl upon the sun and it was permitted to burn humanity with heat...
Then the fifth angel emptied his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom was in darkness, and people gnawed their tongues for the torment -- of their excruciating distress and severe pain --
Then the sixth angel emptied his bowl on the mighty river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to make ready a road for the Kings of the East...
Then the seventh angel emptied out his bowl into the air, and a mighty voice came out of the sanctuary of heaven from the throne saying, It is done!... And there followed lightning flashes, loud rumblings, peals of thunder, and a tremendous earthquake; nothing like it has ever occurred since men dwelt upon the earth. The mighty city was broken into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell... And every island fled and no mountains could be found. And great hailstones... fell from the sky on the people, and men blasphemed God for the plague of the hail, so very great was the plague..."(16:18-21)
Remembering, of course, that this is NOT likely to be a hail of ice, but rather "barad," or fiery stones. And so, Nostradamus has given us a terrifying picture of cosmic upheaval which matches almost exactly what we have found in the Bible.
Jesus said in Luke, Chapter 21:
"Be on your guard and be careful that you are not led astray; for many will come in My name saying, I am He! and, The time is at hand! Do not go out after them. And when you hear of wars and insurrections -- disturbances, disorder and confusion -- do not become alarmed and panic stricken and terrified; for all this must take place first, but the end will not come immediately...

Keep awake then and watch at all times; pray that you may have the full strength and ability and be accounted worthy to escape all these things that will take place...
I would like to point out that the explicit wording states that one should be aware of the impending event - all of which is said will occur within a single generation - by watching the signs. It is also suggested that one will need strength and ability to "stand" in this chaos which will come upon all who live on the earth. Strength and abilities of a very specific sort will definitely be required to survive the passing of the heavens and earth!
