Fourteen die after Israelis launch missile into
crowd - that included women and children. As the wounded
were arriving in hospital, Israeli guns opened up on the hospital,
killing one man and wounding three others. - It was the heaviest
death toll in an Israeli raid for months, just as Javier Solana,
the EU's foreign policy chief, flew in to talk peace. The US state
department stepped up its criti cism of Israel, saying Washington
was "deeply troubled" by the raids. - the Israeli soldiers must
have known they were firing in the direction of a hospital.
Mohammed abu Shaluli, who worked there, died from a bullet in the
head. - Of the dead, the youngest was 17. One woman, Rahima
Salaami, was 50. The rest of the dead were men. More than 100
people were wounded. The Israeli army said yesterday it had film of
the rocket attack, taken by a pilotless drone flying over Khan
Younis, but it had not yet decided whether they should release
it.
French owner blames terrorists for explosion, while Arab TV runs tape purporting to be al-Qa'ida leader. - In Paris, François Rivasseau, a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, would only say that it was too early to be sure what had caused the explosion, but other unnamed government officials said France had strong indications the blast was caused by an attack. President Jacques Chirac was said to be following developments closely. - Another Euronav director, Jacques Moizan, pointed to the supertanker's double hull as a safeguard against all but the most deliberate attacks. "You can imagine the extreme high energy needed to open both hulls," he said.
Comment: Some of the readers might remember that the C's predicted a "faked" terrorist attack on French interests in order to engender support for the "Bush cause." Any French readers who can do so, please notify the owner of the vessel that it was predicted, and it was probably NOT Islamic terrorists or anyone connected with the terrorists blamed for the WTC attack. Also, the readers might remember that the C's also said that what was going to happen in the USA was "random shootings" to engender more terror. However, this is the activation of the HAARP system in an attempt to enforce more complete Mind Control "waves" on the US population. Naturally, those who are programmed by the alphabet soup guys to "go off," will do so under this influence.
The next item on the agenda, according to C's, is some sort of disease, likely an epidemic of a killing variety of Influenza. The C's say: "Do NOT - we repeat - do NOT take the flu shots. You might want to check out colloidal silver generators as well as supplements for protection of your health."
Let's list exactly what we really must forget if we are to support this madness. Most important of all, we absolutely must forget that President Ronald Reagan dispatched a special envoy to meet Saddam Hussein in December 1983. It's essential to forget this for three reasons. Firstly, because the awful Saddam was already using gas against the Iranians – which is one of the reasons we are now supposed to go to war with him.
Secondly, because the envoy was sent to Iraq to arrange the re-opening of the US embassy – in order to secure better trade and economic relations with the Butcher of Baghdad. Thirdly, because the envoy was – wait for it – Donald Rumsfeld. Now you might think it strange that Mr Rumsfeld, in the course of one of his folksy press conferences, hasn't chatted to us about this interesting tit-bit. You might think he would have wished to enlighten us about the evil nature of the criminal with whom he so warmly shook hands. But no.
Strangely, Mr Rumsfeld is silent about this. As he is about his subsequent and equally friendly meeting with Tariq Aziz – which just happened to take place on the day in March, 1984, that the UN released its damning report on Saddam's use of poison gas against Iran. The American media are silent about this too, of course. Because we must forget.
We must forget, too, that in 1988, as Saddam destroyed the people of Halabja with gas, along with tens of thousands of other Kurds – when he "used gas against his own people" in the words of Messrs Bush/Cheney/Blair/Cook/Straw et al –President Bush senior provided him with $500m in US government subsidies to buy American farm products. We must forget that in the following year, after Saddam's genocide was complete, President Bush senior doubled this subsidy to $1bn, along with germ seed for anthrax, helicopters, and the notorious "dual-use" material that could be used for chemical and biological weapons.
And of course, we must forget about oil. Indeed, oil is the one commodity – and one of the few things which George Bush junior knows something about, along with his ex-oil cronies Cheney and Rice and countless others in the administration – which is never mentioned.
We've got to fight "nuclear holy warriors". That's what we have to do to justify the whole charade through which we are being taken now by the White House, by Downing Street, by all the decaying "experts" on terrorism and, alas, far too many journalists.- Forget the 14 Palestinians, including the 12-year-old child, killed by Israel a few hours before Mr Bush spoke, forget that when his aircraft killed nine Palestinian children in July, along with one militant, the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon – a "man of peace" in Mr Bush's words – described the slaughter as "a great success". Israel is on our side.
Remember to use the word "terror". Use it about Saddam Hussein, use it about Osama bin Laden, use it about Yasser Arafat, use it about anyone who opposes Israel or America. Bush used it in his speech yesterday, 30 times in half an hour – that's one "terrorism" a minute.
Dubya sez: "while there are many dangers in the world, the threat from Iraq gathered together the most serious dangers of our age in one place". Because of its record, its capabilities and the "merciless" nature of its regime, "Iraq is unique".
Comment from Quantum School: The depth of deceit and the sheer lack of shame that Bush shows in declaring the above is staggering, even if we could ignore the fact that there are many other equally oppressive regimes around the world (many of them set up by the CIA) and if we somehow are able to blind ourselves to the fact that Bush has been utterly unable to provide any proof for allegations of Saddams weapons of mass destruction, and even goes so far as to block inspectors from entering Iraq (because he knows they will find no evidence to support his claims), there remains one other question: Why now George? What new "mercilessness" has Saddam embarked upon now that warrants his annilhilation, that he was not doing during all those years since the gulf war?
Tell us George. All we want is a simple answer, a simple fact, a single piece of evidence that will back up even ONE of the claims you make?
It seems Dubya is banking on the US and the rest of the world's people being too stupid to even demand the facts. He seems to think that simply by stirring the emotional pot with words and phrases such as "mercilessness" and "axis of evil" he will get the public (and political) support he craves. The question is, is he gonna be proven right? To me, it seems like George has got it right, and we may never get to know what would have happened if people had simply stood up and called a spade a spade, or a liar a liar.
Raid on US marines puts question mark over friendly Kuwait - The two attackers, both wearing civilian clothes, were reportedly shot dead by US marines after the killings, although the exact circumstances of the shooting remained unclear yesterday. The fact that the two dead killers were Kuwaitis, is serious news for the Emir and the crown prince, whose countrymen have never shown any hostility to the United States since the 1991 Gulf War.
Another Meteor Spotted Monday Night - A fireball shot through the Colorado sky Monday evening for the second consecutive night at nearly the same time. - The Cloudbait Observatory Web site reports that the Rocky Mountain region "has experienced a very unusual burst of fireball activity." - The observatory received a total of 560 reports of Sunday night's fireball from seven states. - Preliminary analysis of witness reports suggests the Sunday fireball was a meteor that may have exploded 10 to 20 miles above eastern Utah or western Colorado, said Peterson, a member of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science meteorite investigation team.
