Three weeks later a search team found a ravaged tent. Over the next few months, 9 bodies were found within a 1 km diameter of the tent. To date no one knows what forced the hikers to run away and meet their deaths. In March 2019, the Russian Prosecutor's office sent a team to the Dyatlov Pass to carry out tests at the site of the tragedy and determine the real cause of the deaths of the Dyatlov group.
