@harley_pasternak The Truth About Animal Fats: For all of you, hard-core carb hating, keto loving, Atkins adhearing diet-goers out there, who got excited when that one study came out a couple years ago, suggesting that saturated animal fats might be harmless, think again. A poorly done study reported the consumption of saturated animal fats, like bacon, lamb, and butter, was totally harmless. Subsequently, a number of scientists from Harvard came forward to refute this study, and explain why it was poorly done, and why the data and outcome were very misleading. The study found that removing saturated animal fats from someone’s diet, did not necessarily lead to a healthy outcome. The problem with the study, was they compared people eating saturated animal fats, with other people who remove the saturated animal fats, and replaced it with highly processed and often sugary carbohydrates. What they failed to do, was compare those eating highly saturated animal fats with healthier mono and poly unsaturated fats, found in avocados, nuts, seeds, olives, and cold water fish.
