L’UE reprend enfin sa politique migratoire en main.

The EU is finally taking back control of its migration policy.
.
Last month, we voted to toughen the EU's asylum policy. Today, the European Parliament has just voted in the Committee on Civil Liberties on its position regarding the Return Directive, which will significantly facilitate the detention and expulsion of undocumented migrants or those rejected for asylum. .
.
Once again, the coalition of the right, of which our @ecrgroup is the pivotal force and which also includes the EPP, the Patriots, and the Sovereignists, has prevailed over the left. .
.
Together, we have thus secured numerous advances:.
.
👉 possibility of expulsion centers in third countries;.
👉 detention of undocumented migrants permitted for 24 months and longer if circumstances justify it;.
👉 entry ban on European soil with no time limit;.
👉 possibility of searching and seizing the belongings (identity papers, phone...) of an undocumented migrant without their consent in order to identify their country of origin;.
👉 an appeal against an expulsion decision no longer suspends the organization of the expulsion..
.
It's not perfect, but these are considerable advances that stand in stark contrast to the laxity that has prevailed until now. This was, once again, a demand from our ally Giorgia Meloni, who is fighting in Rome and Brussels to protect our borders and our peoples. .
.
The text will soon be put to a vote in plenary session before being negotiated with the Council. Congratulations to our negotiator @weimers, with whom we have worked from the outset to secure these victories. And thanks to @fxbellamy who managed to convince his group to work with the right once again..
.
Thanks to ECR, thanks to the coalition of the right, we are finally forcing the EU to change course. We will continue to fight to repair the damage caused by decades of submission to the left, to make France and Europe safer, more prosperous, and stronger. .....
