SOTT Focus: A Scientific Look at The Mask Fallacy - And Why We're Told to Wear Them

wearing face mask
Imagine a large grizzly bear is terrorizing your neighborhood. You have a powerful bear gun and potent bear spray that will make the bear go away or allow you to eliminate it if it attacks you. But your government tells you not to use those tools. Instead, they insist you camouflage yourself, hunker down, and hope the bear doesn't get you.

That about sums up Covid-19 in America. We have powerful methods for getting rid of the virus if one gets a bad infection, but instead we're told to wear masks and stay six feet apart. Oh, and no large gatherings, either - unless you're protesting.

Let me first briefly discuss reliable tools for getting rid of a Covid infection, and then we'll examine the efficacy of masks.

SOTT Focus: Stop Pretending The BLM Protests Were Peaceful

Minneapolis riots
© Jon Collins | MPR News6 weeks on, Minneapolis still lies in ruins
Having spent the past month traveling around the United States — from major cities to the countryside — the scale of the 'movement' which erupted in late May after the death of George Floyd is almost incomprehensible. According to the New York Times, which relays their finding with obvious excitement, the 'movement' (its precise contours seldom defined) "may be the largest" in U.S. history.

That is certainly plausible. In which case, it would presumably be important to document how ordinary Americans, especially those most directly affected, perceive the "movement" in question.

Scan almost any of the popular media coverage over the past six weeks and you'll find that journalists have been steadfast in their depiction of "protesters" as unassailably "peaceful." While the vast majority of those who attended a state-backed demonstration or some other event spurred by the 'movement' are unlikely to have committed any acts of physical destruction, the term "peaceful protest" doesn't seem to quite capture the impact of a society-wide upheaval that included, as a key component, mass riots — the magnitude of which have not been seen in the U.S. since at least the 1960s.

From large metro areas like Chicago and Minneapolis/St. Paul, to small and mid-sized cities like Fort Wayne, Indiana and Green Bay, Wisconsin, the number of boarded up, damaged or destroyed buildings I have personally observed — commercial, civic, and residential — is staggering. Keeping exact count is impossible. One might think that a major media organisation such as the New York Times would use some of their galactic journalistic resources to tally up the wreckage for posterity. But roughly six weeks later, and such a tally is still nowhere to be found.

Comment: The media silence on the scale and intensity of the riots across the US last month is a dead giveaway that it was coordinated by the Powers That Be.

Just by way of anecdote - and perhaps readers would like to look into just how widespread and systematic this was around the world - the editors of one of our sister sites, Danish Sott.net, observed that when equivalent 'BLM' protests kicked off in Denmark at the beginning of June, the heaviest promoter of protests at the US embassy in Copenhagen (and remember, people gathered there ostensibly to protest 'systemic and institutionalized racism by the American state against its own people')... was the US embassy in Copenhagen.

SOTT Focus: MindMatters: The Ideal And Value of Beauty

beauty
From time to time we are struck with something we may deem "beautiful". We see a work of art, a landscape, or a face that speaks to an almost ephemeral ideal which demands our attention, acknowledgement and contemplation. But why does this occur? What is it that we, as individuals, are perceiving as beautiful? And what exactly is beauty anyway? In exploring this largely taken for granted dimension to human experience we ask: What place should it hold in our lives, and what value do we hold for it - and it for us?

This week on MindMatters we explore and expand on some common conceptions of things beautiful - from the mundane to the sublime. And we see how noticing and arranging things to be beautiful can be an invocation of our greatest ideals and values. In a time and place where we are surrounded by ugliness, the gifts and astonishment that may be found in beauty may be one more key in connecting to the highest part of the Universe, and to ourselves.

SOTT Focus: Objective:Health - The Future of Food - Controlling the Population Through What We Eat

O:H header
Diving deeper into the swamp that is the future of food from last week, this week we look into the issue of food being used as a weapon for control over the population. Corporate agriculture, real and manipulated food shortages, inflation, chemical food systems, genetic modification, fake foods - all of these and more are used as a means of ultimately controlling the populace.

Is there an escape? Can we still have a say in what we eat in a future food system dominated by a handful of corporations who control and track all food from the seed stage to the final sale? Will we still be able to grow food for ourselves and our families and wider communities? Will food freedom be a thing of the past?

Join us on this episode of Objective:Health as we look into the scary future of the human food system.

SOTT Focus: Stoicism, Materialism and the Search for Divinity

Stoicism
Confined indoors due to the coronavirus and the lockdowns, I had a lot of time to think, to read and to watch videos on YouTube. I'd like to take you on a little journey, to show you what I found and what I learned, and how I think that all this connects to what is happening in the world today.

Covid-19 has sent people into a frenzy. Despite the low mortality, a lot of people fear for their lives. There is a big disconnect between the actual numbers of deaths and the fear of death that this crisis has elicited in people. There seem to be a number of reasons for that.

First and most obvious is the relentless pounding of the populace with images of apocalyptic scenarios. Switch on the television, and you will be flooded 24 hours per day with stories of doom, gloom and death. Quite illuminating in this regard is the bellicose language - the current health crisis is compared to and described as a war. Terms like "a battle between life and death", "battling the virus" and "front-line workers" are testament to that.

But if you look at the numbers - even recognizing that they are entirely manipulated and fabricated - they talk another language. The latest numbers suggest that between 5 and 20% of the population has had contact with the virus. At least half of those get infected but don't develop any symptoms at all. Of those infected, most only experience mild symptoms, analogous to what a majority of people experience during any flu season. Only a small minority fall gravely ill, and still many fewer die.

SOTT Focus: MindMatters: Father Joseph Azize Interview: Gurdjieff's Legacy and the 'New Work'

azize
Few scholars and writers in the world today have the experience and in-depth knowledge that Father Joseph Azize has of G.I. Gurdjieff's Fourth Way work. In this new interview with the author of Gurdjieff: Mysticism, Contemplation and Exercises, we explore a range of issues : Have students and organizations based on Gurdjieff's work watered down and distorted what the great teacher wrote and instructed? At what point do ideas - in an attempt to make them more "accessible" - lose their power and potency altogether? And by contrast, what does it look like when integrity is maintained?

This week on MindMatters we discuss these issues as well as some more of the specially designed exercises Gurdjieff prescribed for his pupils that we began to explore with Fr. Azize in our first interview. Looking specifically at the mystic's "Second Assisting" and "Web" exercises we examine what they were intended to do for the practitioner - as well as what the larger implications and possible benefits that such work had, and has, for humanity as a whole. Join us as Joseph Azize gives a number of very nuanced and informed explications of Gurdjieff's ideas, and what value they hold for those seeking to climb the staircase of one's own being.

SOTT Focus: SOTT Earth Changes Summary - June 2020: Extreme Weather, Planetary Upheaval, Meteor Fireballs

secsjune2020
Sheets of rain, floods and hail left a path of destruction all over the world, and the northern hemisphere still got snow in June.

The unbelievable amount of precipitation during the past months can be explained with the increasing amount of charged particles in upper layers of the atmosphere.

When meteors and meteorites pass through our lower atmosphere, or when our planet goes trough a comet dust stream, charged particles accumulate between the ionosphere and the surface of the earth causing storms to intensify, clouds to grow and more rain to fall. Wildfires and volcanic eruptions, for example, also contribute to this accumulation of particles.

At the same time, rain can conduct the accumulated electrical charge of the ionosphere to the ground, which increases the occurrence of other electrical phenomena, as tornadoes, hurricanes and plasma formations.

The accumulation of charged aerosols and increasingly colder temperatures in upper layers of the atmosphere - caused by the current solar minimum - can also be responsible of the increasing amount of hail and unseasonable snow around the world.

Charged particles influence weather much more than has been appreciated.

Heavy rain and raging floods took the life of hundreds and affected millions in south China, and destroyed 1,470 houses and 3 bridges in Gorontalo Province, Indonesia. Heavy floods also hit Assam, India leaving 16 dead and over 253,000 affected.

While Romania got its second coldest day in June, Montana got more than 1 foot of snow and southeast Wyoming got 6 inches... just at the beginning of summer.

Siberia got a share of extreme weather this month, from tornadoes to floods and extreme temperature swings.

A 7.5-magnitude earthquake rattled large swaths of southern and central Mexico, killing at least five people. No major damage was reported.

Locusts continued to ravage Africa, India, Brazil, Argentina and the Middle East, with no sign that they'll be gone soon.

All that and more in our SOTT Earth Changes Summary for June 2020:

SOTT Focus: Objective:Health - Project Salus: Track the People, Track the Food

O:H header
Project Salus is a massive tracking program launched by the Pentagon using artificial intelligence, blockchain technology and a bunch of other tech the average person has no idea even exists. With it, they say they'll be able to predict COVID hot spots (so can we; just look at nursing homes), supply chain problems and other logistics issues. These systems already have geolocation data that allow them to do mapping, resource allocation, etc.

The scariest part of this is they will have the ability to trace all food, down to the individual coffee bean, from it's inception right until it gets into your cup. This is a level of control never before seen on planet earth.

Tune in to this episode of Objective:Health as we look into the deeper implications of Project Salus.

SOTT Focus: Remaking the World: The Globe-spanning Agenda of Protesters, Corporate and Cultural elites

reset button
Revolutions, historically speaking, bubble up from the most oppressed sections of society - workers, peasants etc, with only the leader coming from the top echelon. The revolutionary type activism occurring in America for the last two months is different - it is taking place on the street, in elite institutions, corporate enterprises and at the international level. Let's look first at the Democrats' plan to win in November from the strategy emerging on the streets.

Information Operation

They say the long-term strategic objective is a more equitable society for all, but a key component of this would consist of denying the protection of certain norms and laws, all while subjecting you to norms and laws when it works to their benefit. It is materializing as an information operation from activists at the societal level coupled with a soft power effort from elites and international actors.

While there have been some tragic casualties in the protests, so far there is no actual warfare, but the protests are continuing. Mostly they are trying to affect perceptions, build a narrative, play on those perceptions and cause an action that will lead to the activists'/democrats' victory.

SOTT Focus: Compelling Evidence That SARS-CoV-2 Was Man-Made

SARS-Cov-2 man made
The unfolding of the COVID-19 pandemic left many unanswered, or unsatisfactorily answered, questions. Why were effective drugs banned while a hypothetical vaccine was promoted? Why the sudden concern of the authorities for "saving lives"? Why the same measures across dozens of countries? Why the imposition of lock-downs when detection and treatment worked better? Why was a virus whose fatality rate is comparable to a seasonal flu, hyped to such an extent? Is SARS-CoV-2 a natural virus, or was it created in a laboratory?

The present article aims to answer those questions and, more importantly, to decipher the true motives behind the global coronavirus show.
