Putin-Macron Meeting: Glorious Summer After a Long Winter of Discontent?

French President Emmanuel Macron and wife Brigitte • Russian President Vladimir Putin
Five years is a long time in politics. In 2014, relations between Russia and the West went into a nosedive over Ukraine and Syria.

The "annexation" of Crimea, the shooting down of the Malaysian airliner, and the conflict in eastern Ukraine destroyed the partial re-establishment of normal relations which had started in 2008 with President Obama's "re-set" and Nicolas Sarkozy's rapprochement with Vladimir Putin. This included the Georgian crisis of that year, of which the French president's decision in 2010 to sell two Mistral aircraft carriers to Russia was a potent symbol. The collapse in relations as a result of the Ukraine crisis led to EU and US sanctions against Russia, and to her expulsion from the G8 group of nations, as it then was, as well as to a war of words between East and West.

Vladimir Putin's visit on Monday to the fort at Bregancon, the official summer residence of the French president, demonstrates that that period is now officially closed. On every level, the West has now abandoned its earlier hostility to Putin and Russia. First, the symbolism: President Putin spends a lot of time governing from his own summer residence in Sochi, and the invitation to the Mediterranean coast, where the atmosphere is more intimate and relaxed than in Paris, was undoubtedly a gesture to Putin's predilection for warmer climes. The fact that the meeting took place just a few days before the Biarritz summit of what is now the G7 also shows that Paris intends to include Moscow in discussing world affairs at the highest level, even if it is unlikely that Russia will be formally readmitted to that structure. Even the substance of the meeting showed how much things have changed. When Emmanuel Macron said that Russia was essential to solving various crises in the world - Iran, Ukraine, Syria, the INF Treaty - he was announcing a 180-degree change in French and Western policy.

Objective:Health # 27 - Parasite Lost: Are Icky Worm Infections Key to Our Health‌?

O:H header
One would never think that the topic of parasitic worms could be thought to require nuance. Worms are bad, anything that kills them is a good thing, end of story. But surprisingly, there has been a significant amount of research in recent years that is hinting at the idea that, in some situations, parasitic worms are actually a good thing. In fact, some attribute the loss of these worms from our digestive tracts as leading to an increase in various conditions in the west, including autoimmune conditions, asthma, Multiple Sclerosis and allergies.

There have even been a number of experiments involving the treatment of various conditions involving the deliberate infection of subjects with different types of parasites. It's known as 'helminth therapy' and, while it's not universally helpful across the board, a statistically significant number are reporting beneficial results.

Join us on this episode of Objective:Health as we look into this slightly icky but truly promising new (or very old) medical procedure. And stay tuned for Zoya's Pet Health Segment, as she tells us all about pets who can detect psychic phenomena!

MindMatters: Our Favorite Books, Films And Shows So Far This Year

mindmatters list
© SOTT
Your MindMatters hosts can't be hitting the books and reading non-fiction ALL the time! So on this week's show we'll be sharing some of the novels, movies and shows that, in our estimation, are insightful of the human condition, artful enough to be called something like literature - and entertaining enough to add a little joy to our days - and which are certainly worth discussing. And don't worry, we'll be mentioning some of the non-fiction books we've been looking at that satisfy those qualities as well, some of which we haven't discussed yet on previous shows, like the new, definitive book on the Manson murders, CHAOS: Charles Manson, the CIA, and the Secret History of the Sixties; a truly revolutionary book on mythology, E.J. Michael Witzel's Origins of the World's Mythologies; and two recent books on the literary nature of the New Testament gospels and the classical works they imitated.

Missing European Teenager Found Dead in Malaysian Jungle Under Mysterious Circumstances - Another Missing 411 Case?

nora quoirin

A Royal Malaysian Police officer points to a map showing the search and rescue operation area
Details concerning the discovery of the body of missing Irish-French teenager in the Malaysian jungle on August 13th point to it being another 'Missing 411' case.

15-year-old Nora Quoirin was on holiday in Malaysia with her two younger siblings and their parents, staying at the Dusun eco-resort in Negeri Sembilan state.

Situated at a trailhead on the west side of the Berembun Forest Reserve, the resort is a mere 35kms as the crow flies from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, but is nonetheless surrounded by dense rainforest.
nora quoirin
The Quoirin family had arrived there on August 4th, checked-in to their villa at the resort, then Nora was noticed missing by her father at 8am the next morning when he discovered she was not in her room and that the window was open.

As search-and-rescue (SAR) teams began looking for her, Malaysian officials' working theory was that she had left the bedroom at some point in the early hours, wandered off and become lost. But Nora was born with the brain defect holoprosencephaly, an unusual condition in which the forebrain is not fully divided into left and right hemispheres.

Nora's medical condition meant that she was highly dependent on full-time care and, as her mother insists, "would not have wandered off on her own." Her siblings, who were sleeping in the same room as her, did not notice her leave, and CCTV cameras at the resort did not capture her leaving. Even if she had been motivated to do so, it's unlikely Nora could physically negotiate the rigors of leaving the resort and trekking through steep, dense jungle. For these reasons, her parents insisted that local investigating authorities consider that she had been abducted.

Who Inflicts The Most Gun Violence in America? The U.S. Government And Its Police Forces

US police state
"It is often the case that police shootings, incidents where law enforcement officers pull the trigger on civilians, are left out of the conversation on gun violence. But a police officer shooting a civilian counts as gun violence. Every time an officer uses a gun against an innocent or an unarmed person contributes to the culture of gun violence in this country." — Journalist Celisa Calacal
Yes, gun violence is a problem in America, although violent crime generally remains at an all-time low.

Yes, mass shootings are a problem in America, although while they are getting deadlier, they are not getting more frequent.

Yes, mentally ill individuals embarking on mass shooting sprees are a problem in America.

However, tighter gun control laws and so-called "intelligent" background checks fail to protect the public from the most egregious perpetrator of gun violence in America: the U.S. government.

Consider that five years after police shot and killed an unarmed 18-year-old man in Ferguson, Missouri, there has been no relief from the government's gun violence.

Here's what we've learned about the government's gun violence since Ferguson, according to The Washington Post: If you're a black American, you've got a greater chance of being shot by police. If you're an unarmed black man, you're four times more likely to be killed by police than an unarmed white man. Most people killed by police are young men. Since 2015, police have shot and killed an average of 3 people per day. More than 2,500 police departments have shot and killed at least one person since 2015. And while the vast majority of people shot and killed by police are armed, their weapons ranged from guns to knives to toy guns.

Clearly, the U.S. government is not making America any safer.

Everyone's A Conspiracy Theorist, Whether They Know It Or Not

Epstein face
Plutocratic propaganda outlet MSNBC has just run a spin segment on the breaking news that the medical examiner's determination of the cause of Jeffrey Epstein's death is "pending further information".

"Our sources are still saying that it looks like suicide, and this is going to set conspiracy theorists abuzz I fear," said NBC correspondent Ken Dilanian. "NBC News has been hearing all day long that there are no indications of foul play, and that this looks like a suicide and that he hung himself in his cell."

Dilanian, who stumbled over the phrase "conspiracy theorists" in his haste to get it in the first soundbyte, is a known asset of the Central Intelligence Agency. This is not a conspiracy theory, this is a well-documented fact. A 2014 article in The Intercept titled "The CIA's Mop-Up Man" reveals email exchanges obtained via Freedom of Information Act request between Dilanian and CIA public affairs officers which "show that Dilanian enjoyed a closely collaborative relationship with the agency, explicitly promising positive news coverage and sometimes sending the press office entire story drafts for review prior to publication." There is no reason to give Dilanian the benefit of the doubt that this cozy relationship has ended, so anything he puts forward can safely be dismissed as CIA public relations.

Objective:Health #26 - Mindfulness - Corporate Scam or Key to Nirvana

O:H header
The term 'mindfulness' is everywhere. With celebrity endorsements from the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Goldie Hawn, headlines featuring the latest studies with bold claims to Google employees and Davos World Economic Forum attendees, everyone is getting in on the biggest craze in consciousness since The Secret.

It's taking the world by storm, reportedly now a $4.2 trillion industry. More than 100,000 books on Amazon have a variant of "mindfulness" in the title. Besides books, there are workshops, online courses, glossy magazines, documentary films, smartphone apps, bells, cushions, bracelets, beauty products and other paraphernalia, as well as a lucrative and burgeoning conference circuit.

But does anyone know what this over-hyped and commercialized term actually means? Is there anything behind 'mindfulness', or is just another empty New Age term like spiritual, energy or karma?

On this episode of Objective:Health, we take a look at mindfulness, and discuss how it's not so black and white. We look into the origin of the term and the true practice behind what has become a tool of corporate compliance, stripped of all its original ethical and religious tenets. Join us for an enlightening discussion.

The Misanthropic Bankers Behind The Green New Deal

Charles Greta AOC green new deal
© Matthew Ehret
A vast sweeping change towards a "green economy" is now being pushed by forces that may make an educated citizen rather uncomfortable.

Of course, news reports flash daily showcasing the brave young movement of "eco-warriors" led by Sweden's 16-year-old Greta Thunberg or America's 17-year-old Jamie Margolin, who have become a force across Europe and America leading such movements as the 'Extinction Rebellion', 'This is Zero Hour', the 'Sunrise Movement' and the 'Children's Climate Crusade'. The young face of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez daily sells the idea that the only way for outdated capitalist forces that have plagued the world for decades to be replaced is by imposing a sweeping Green New Deal that priorities de-carbonization as a goal for humanity rather than continuing to allow the mindless forces of the markets to determine our destiny.

EU President Ursula von der Leyen has even attacked China's Belt and Road Initiative (which is ironically representing a true 21st century New Deal) by saying "some are buying their influence by investing in dependence from ports and roads"... but "we go the European way". What is the "European way"? Not the development plans of Charles De Gaulle or Konrad Adenauer who envisioned industrial growth and increasing population as positives, but rather a Green New Deal. Von der Leyen said on July 17 that "I want Europe to become the first CO2 neutral continent in the world by 2050! I will put forward a Green New Deal for Europe in my first 100 days in office..."

MindMatters: Unstable Reality: When Objects Disappear And Reappear, And What It Means

jott
© SOTT
"Just one of those things." Sometimes you just can't find your keys. Sometimes you lose your TV remote. But sometimes, an object might fall from your grasp, never to be seen again. Sometimes objects might disappear from their usual home, only to reappear in the same place days, weeks, or months later - sometimes in a completely unexpected and implausible location. Sometimes a missing object will even be replaced with a poor facsimile. Psychical researcher Mary Rose Barrington calls these phenomena "jotts". Most will dismiss them as "just one of those things", but if you're paying attention, something more seems to be going on here.

Today we discuss Barrington's book, JOTT, in which she provides nearly a hundred case studies, and a wide-ranging theory of what's really going on, with reference to a range of parapsychological phenomena. Her proposal is expansive, original, and has parallels with many of the ideas we've been covering on MindMatters, from Whitehead to Carpenter to Kastrup. Tune in to find out where those missing keys of yours may have gone, and why they went missing in the first place.

Mega Group, Maxwells And Mossad: The Spy Story at The Heart of The Jeffrey Epstein Pedo Scandal

epstein wexler mossad
© Claudio Cabrera

Comment: Part Three of Whitney Webb's deep expose of the decades-long history behind the rise of Jeffrey Epstein.

Read Part One: How 1920s prohibition gave rise to the likes of Jeffrey Epstein

and Part Two: Jeffrey Epstein, Trump's mentor and the dark secrets of the Reagan era: Governing by blackmail

As billionaire pedophile and alleged sex-trafficker Jeffrey Epstein sits in prison, reports have continued to surface about his reported links to intelligence, his financial ties to several companies and "charitable" foundations, and his friendships with the rich and powerful, as well as top politicians.

While Part I and Part II of this series, "The Jeffrey Epstein Scandal: Too Big to Fail," have focused on the widespread nature of sexual blackmail operations in recent American history and their ties to the heights of American political power and the U.S. intelligence community, one key aspect of Epstein's own sex-trafficking and blackmail operation that warrants examination is Epstein's ties to Israeli intelligence and his ties to the "informal" pro-Israel philanthropist faction known as "the Mega Group."

The Mega Group's role in the Epstein case has garnered some attention, as Epstein's main financial patron for decades, billionaire Leslie Wexner, was a co-founder of the group that unites several well-known businessmen with a penchant for pro-Israel and ethno-philanthropy (i.e., philanthropy benefiting a single ethnic or ethno-religious group). However, as this report will show, another uniting factor among Mega Group members is deep ties to organized crime, specifically the organized crime network discussed in Part I of this series, which was largely led by notorious American mobster Meyer Lansky.
