Two months into the most politically and militarily seismic event since World War Two, is Russia 'winning' or 'losing' in Ukraine? And can this complicated situation really be reduced to such an oversimplified question and answer?

This week on NewsReal, Joe Quinn answers listeners' questions about the war in Ukraine and its global ramifications, explaining what probably happened to the Moskva Russian ship, what will likely happen to Ukrainian refugees, the probability that Ukraine will be much smaller by war's end, the Ukrainian admission that the 'Ghost of Kiev' was fake news spread to 'boost morale', and more.

SOTT Focus: Objective:Health - In The News: No Mask Mandates | Anti-Covid Pill | Fines for the Unvaxxed

O:H header
Welcome to another exciting episode of Objective:Health's In the News, where we take a look at the latest health headlines bouncing around the collective consciousness and give you the O:H take.

On this week's show we talk about the reactions, and overreactions, to the dropping of mask mandates by a number of travel companies in the US. Most people cheered, but a particular breed is demanding the mandates be brought back.

We also discuss the anti-Covid pill currently being promoted by the Biden administration (don't worry; they say they have enough to go around, so you won't miss out!) We also talk about a proposed bill in Rhode Island that would impose fines on the unvaccinated and charge them double in tax!

Join us for all this and more on our latest episode of Objective:Health.

SOTT Focus: Objective:Health - Sudden Surge in Liver Inflammation Around the World - Vaccines to Blame?

O:H header
On April 15 the WHO announced an outbreak of hepatitis of unknown origin in the UK. Since that time, they've specified that it seems to be centered on young children. And it's not limited to the UK.

As of April 21, there have been at least 169 cases of acute hepatitis reported from 11 countries (Cases have been reported in the UK (114), Spain (13), Israel (12), the United States of America (9), Denmark (6), Ireland (<5), The Netherlands (4), Italy (4), Norway (2), France (2), Romania (1), and Belgium (1).) The kids who have been tested have come up negative for hepatitis A through E, but some have tested positive for adenovirus.

So far they don't know what's causing it, but are explicitly stating it has nothing to do with vaccinations since most of the children infected were too young to have received the shots. We don't think that rules anything out.

Join us on this episode of Objective:Health as we speculate as to possible reasons we may be seeing this strange hepatitis outbreak.

SOTT Focus: NewsReal: UK Govt Now Says Russia Might Win in Ukraine After All

russia putin ukraine newsreal
© Sott.net
In an unexpected shift from the unified Western narrative that Russia is losing badly and will soon be driven out, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson this week became the first Western leader to concede Vladimir Putin could 'win the war' in Ukraine, and that it could last until the end of next year.

This revelation is shocking to those who believe the Western media's war propaganda, but unsurprising to skeptics. This week on NewsReal, Joe and Niall contrast shifting British and Western expectations with the unchanged Russian ones, noting the recent capture of Mariupol and the Russian military's 'land bridge' to Crimea.

Meanwhile, in a development that was blacked out by Western media, Russian envoys reported to the UN last week details about a global complex of American bio-labs that ring Russia and China for the purpose of unleashing ethnic-specific weapons - something that perhaps explains China's extreme lockdowns in Shanghai and Hong Kong.

'Back home', EUrocrats continue threatening to place embargoes on Russian oil and gas by year's end, a development that will effectively de-industrialize Europe and impoverish tens of millions of people, while in the US major food distribution facilities are mysteriously burning to the ground.

Is this all to 'get Putin'? To 'save the planet'? Is this the result of feckless ideology run amuck, or is there an element of wilfull destruction behind it all?

SOTT Focus: MindMatters: Political Psychopathy Goes Mainstream, Linked to Crimes Against Humanity

pinochet
Not since Nuremberg have political leaders and functionaries accused or guilty of crimes against humanity been accessible to psychologists for close study, specifically with regard to the presence of personality disorders like psychopathy. A new paper by Robert Hare and colleagues is the first of its kind to examine men convicted of crimes against humanity and test for psychopathy using the PCL-R, specifically, members of Pinochet's armed forces convicted of crimes like torture and murder. Today on MindMatters, Harrison reads portions of the paper and discusses its main conclusions and implications. (See his substack post on the subject too.)

SOTT Focus: "One less traitor": Zelensky Oversees Campaign of Assassination, Kidnapping And Torture of Political Opposition

Alexander Matjuschenko 1
Above: The torture of left-wing activist Alexander Matjuschenko on March 3 in Dnipro, recorded by Azov members. Below: President Volodymyr Zelensky poses during a media engagement.
While claiming to defend democracy, Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky has outlawed his opposition, ordered his rivals' arrest, and presided over the disappearance and assassination of dissidents across the country.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has framed his country's war against Russia as a battle for democracy itself. In a carefully choreographed address to US Congress on March 16, Zelensky stated, "Right now, the destiny of our country is being decided. The destiny of our people, whether Ukrainians will be free, whether they will be able to preserve their democracy."

US corporate media has responded by showering Zelensky with fawning press, driving a campaign for his nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize and inspiring a flamboyant musical tribute to himself and the Ukrainian military during the 2022 Grammy awards ceremony on April 3.

Western media has looked the other way, however, as Zelensky and top officials in his administration have sanctioned a campaign of kidnapping, torture, and assassination of local Ukrainian lawmakers accused of collaborating with Russia. Several mayors and other Ukrainian officials have been killed since the outbreak of war, many reportedly by Ukrainian state agents after engaging in de-escalation talks with Russia.

"There is one less traitor in Ukraine," Internal Affairs Ministry advisor Anton Geraschenko stated in endorsement of the murder of a Ukrainian mayor accused of collaborating with Russia.

SOTT Focus: Objective:Health - Microplastics are Everywhere, Including in Your Body

O:H header
Two recent studies have shown the microplastics, tiny pieces of plastic by definition less than 5 mm but can be microscopic, have been found deep in the tissues of most humans. One study from the Netherlands found microplastic particles in the bloodstream of 77% of healthy volunteers. Another study looked at the lung tissue of patients undergoing surgery and found 84% of the samples contained plastic.

Another study by the University of Newcastle, Australia estimated that the average person is eating about 5 grams of plastic per week - that's the equivalent of one credit card. But plastic also gets into the body via the airways. Aren't you glad you've been forced to wear plastic-containing face masks over your mouth and nose for the last 2 years? Animal studies have found that inhaled plastics quickly make their way from the lungs to the heart and spleen, as well as to the deep organs of the fetus in pregnant animals, including the fetal liver, lungs, kidney and brain.

It would be one thing if these plastic particles were benign, but they have been shown to damage human cells, although the extent of the damage at this point is unknown. Some studies have shown "coronary dysfunction, vascular perturbations, negative reproductive health outcomes, and neurological outcomes after maternal inhalation of engineered nanomaterials during pregnancy." It's also speculated to cause gut dysbiosis, greater oxidative stress and neurotoxicity. And this isn't even getting into the endocrine disrupting chemicals and carcinogens plastic loves to absorb and carry.

Join us for this episode of Objective:Health as we discuss the ubiquity and dangers of microplastics.

SOTT Focus: NewsReal: Shanghai Lockdown - Moskva Hit - Escalation in Ukraine?

Moskva sinking Shanghai lockdown newsreal
© Sott.net
Shanghai has been under severe lockdown for three weeks for reasons the Chinese government says are entirely to do with enforcing its 'Zero Covid' policy of playing whack-a-mole with any and all expressions of 'Covid cases'. By their own admission, the city of 26 million people has just 25,000 'cases', mostly asymptomatic, and ZERO deaths. So why put the population under such duress 'to save lives'?

This week on NewsReal, Joe and Niall attempt to explain the real motive for Shanghai's harsh lockdown, discuss what (probably) really happened to the Russian Black Sea Fleet flagship the Moskva, ponder just how far the US and Russia are willing to escalate their proxy war in Ukraine, stand back in awe at the Western media's blaming of all the world's problems on Putin, and comment on the potential takeover of Twitter by 'based' billionaire Elon Musk.

SOTT Focus: Military Situation in Ukraine: An Update by Jacques Baud

Medal in Khankala
© Moscow Museum of Modern Art"Medal in Khankala," by I.S. Araslanov; painted in 2007.
The Operational Situation

As of March 25, 2022, our analysis of the situation confirms the observations and conclusions made in mid-March.

The offensive launched on February 24 is articulated in two lines of effort, in accordance with Russian operational doctrine:

1) A main effort directed toward the south of the country, in the Donbass region, and along the Azov Sea coast. As the doctrine states, the main objectives are — the neutralization of the Ukrainian armed forces (the objective of "demilitarization"), and the neutralization of ultra-nationalist, paramilitary militias in the cities of Kharkov and Mariupol (the objective of "denazification"). This primary push is being led by a coalition of forces: through Kharkov and Crimea are Russian forces from the Southern Military District; in the center are militia forces from the Donetsk and Lugansk republics; the Chechen National Guard is contributing with engagement in the urban area of Mariupol;

2) A secondary effort on Kiev, aimed at "pinning down" Ukrainian (and Western) forces, so as to prevent them from carrying out operations against the main thrust or even taking Russian coalition forces from the rear.

This offensive follows, to the letter, the objectives defined by Vladimir Putin on February 24. But, listening only to their own bias, Western "experts" and politicians have gotten it into their heads that Russia's objective is to take over the Ukraine and overthrow its government. Applying a very Western logic, they see Kiev as the "center of gravity" (Schwerpunkt) of Ukrainian forces. According to Clausewitz, the "center of gravity" is the element from which a belligerent derives his strength and ability to act, and is therefore the primary objective of an adversary's strategy. This is why Westerners have systematically tried to take control of capitals in the wars they have fought. Trained and advised by NATO experts, the Ukrainian General Staff has, predictably enough, applied the same logic, focusing on strengthening the defense of Kiev and its surroundings, while leaving its troops helpless in the Donbass, along the axis of the main Russian effort.
