SOTT Focus: For Victory Day: It's Time to Think About Finally Winning WWII

hitler-schacht-prescott-bush
77 years ago Germany surrendered to allied forces finally ending the ravages of the Second World War.

Today, as the world celebrates the 77th anniversary of this victory, why not think very seriously about finally winning that war once and for all?

If you're confused by this statement, then you might want to sit down and take a deep breath before reading on. Within the next 12 minutes, you will likely discover a disturbing fact which may frighten you a little bit: The allies never actually won World War II...

Now please don't get me wrong. I am eternally thankful for the immortal souls who gave their lives to put down the fascist machine during those bleak years... but the fact is that a certain something wasn't resolved on the 9th of May, 1945 which has a lot to do with the slow re-emergence of a new form of fascism during the second half of the 20th century and the renewed danger of a global dictatorship which the world faces again today.

It is my contention that it is only when we find the courage to really look at this problem with sober eyes, that we will be able to truly honor our courageous forebears who devoted their lives to winning a peace for their children, grandchildren and humanity more broadly.

SOTT Focus: Russia's Ukraine Operation 'Preemptive' - Putin at Victory Day Parade

Russian President Vladimir Putin

Launching the offensive was "the only right decision," Russian President insisted at the annual Victory Day parade

Russia's military operation in Ukraine was a preemptive move against future aggression, President Vladimir Putin has outlined during his address at the Victory Day parade in Red Square in Moscow on Monday.

Putin not only praised the achievement of the Soviet people during World War II, but also addressed the Kremlin's reasons for the ongoing conflict between Moscow and Kiev. Russia had to act because a large-scale offensive against the breakaway republics in the eastern Donbass region was being planned, he claimed.

"We saw the military infrastructure unfolding [in Ukraine]; hundreds of foreign advisers starting their work; there were regular deliveries of the most modern weapons from NATO countries. The danger grew every day," the president explained.

"Russia gave a preemptive rebuff to aggression - this was a forced, timely and the only right decision by a sovereign, strong and independent country," he added, referring to the launch of the military operation.

Comment: The staggering loss of millions soldiers (and many more innocent civilians) during WWII has left a deep scar in the hearts and memory of Russia. Today, victory over Nazi forces is celebrated and commemorated during today's massive 'Immortal Regiment' procession in Moscow:
Hundreds of thousands of people assembled for an annual procession through Moscow while holding portraits of their family members who fought against Nazi Germany and its allies in World War II as Russia celebrates Victory Day on Monday.

The 'Immortal Regiment' is a massive civil march held on Victory Day in which people carry portraits of those from their family who participated in the war.

More than one million people took part in the event in Moscow on Monday, the Russian Interior Ministry said.

The procession set off from one of Moscow's railway stations at 15:00 local time and traversed the seven-kilometer-long route through the city center to Red Square. President Vladimir Putin and Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin took part in the march as well.

The event was held online in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid-19 restrictions.

In addition to Moscow, 'Immortal Regiment' processions were also held in many other cities across Russia, including all of the country's regional capitals. More than 200,000 people took part in Novosibirsk and over 100,000 participated in the Siberian city of Omsk.

The Red Army's fight against Hitler's forces is often called the Great Patriotic War, which started for the USSR on June 22, 1941. In Russia, May 9 is one of the country's most revered public holidays.

The 'Immortal Regiment' began as a grassroots movement in the Siberian city of Tomsk in 2012. The idea was then quickly picked up by other cities. The processions are held on Victory Day all across Russia and in many places abroad, where Russian-speaking expats participate alongside locals.

SOTT Focus: NewsReal: USA vs Russia: Could Proxy War in Ukraine Escalate to Nuclear Conflict?

nuclear war russia ukraine usa newsreal
© Sott.net
The admission this week by the US government that it assisted Ukrainian forces with sinking the Russian flagship 'Moskva' last month highlights the risk of the 'proxy war' between the USA and Russia in Ukraine escalating to a 'point of no return'.

This week on NewsReal, Joe and Niall discuss the possibility of 'Nuclear Armageddon', explaining why they believe it remains unlikely. In the meantime, the US government pours greatly increased volumes of money and weapons into Ukraine.

There will be an end point to this, and that ending will indeed be catastrophic for many, but how it manifests will vary - and probably surprise everyone who followed the media version of events.

SOTT Focus: SOTT Earth Changes Summary - April 2022 - Extreme Weather, Planetary Upheaval, Meteor Fireballs

ecsapr22
Hundreds of food processing and food distribution facilities around the world were forced to halt activities since the lockdowns started, some of them suffered cyberattacks, and hundreds of others have exploded or burned down, a trend that increased considerably this year with up to 28 facilities burned down in mysterious ways just in the US.

Other related events worth mentioning: Further, The Guardian in the U.K. came up with a brilliant study that concluded that Northern Ireland must get rid of 1.2 million sheep and cattle, along with 5 million chickens, to meet zero carbon emissions and a 50% reduction in methane emissions... all this while global food prices are at their highest points in the 32-year history.

Well, does this sounds like a manufactured crisis? You bet. Yet, nature has its own plans, and the consequences are becoming the most significant factor.

We wanted to highlight that the most relevant events this month are related to unseasonable temperature drops and snow around the world, up to the end of April.

Winter-like temperatures have been gaining ground throughout the years damaging crops and crippling livestock farms, meanwhile planting and harvesting seasons keep getting displaced.

Sudden drops in temperatures are also worth mentioning, as in the Cascades, Washington that triggered a heavy snowfall that caused dozens of road accidents. In Europe, France registered the coldest April night since 1947.

There were a couple of extreme heat events during this month in some parts of the US, Europe and Asia, but they pale in comparison with the overarching frigid temperatures.

Unusually heavy rain and floods have also been contributing to damaged crops and farms.

Brazil continued to struggle with heavy rain, floods, and landslides this month, with a record of 31 inches of rainfall in 48 hours in Rio de Janeiro. In Antioquia, Colombia unusually heavy rain triggered destructive landslides causing the deaths of 12 people.

Thailand and the Philippines are having trouble recovering from the damage caused by continuous floods and landslides since last year. The trend continues as tropical storm Megi poured 10 inches of rainfall in 24 hours killing at least 224 and displacing thousands. While in south Thailand a foot of rain in 48 hours triggered the evacuation of 20,000 families.

The deadliest storm in record pummelled KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa destroying homes, bridges and roads. Floods and landslides caused the deaths of at least 450 and displaced thousands. The storm forced sub-Saharan Africa's most important port to halt operations.

In Uzbekistan at least 4 people died as a result of floods and mudslides after a month's worth of rain fell in less than 2 hours. Floods and mudflows also damaged crops, homes, schools and other buildings. At least 260 farms and buildings suffered damage, and 100 people were displaced. It was the worst storm in 80 years.

SOTT Focus: Objective:Health - Sudden Surge in Liver Inflammation Around the World - Vaccines to Blame?

O:H header
On April 15 the WHO announced an outbreak of hepatitis of unknown origin in the UK. Since that time, they've specified that it seems to be centered on young children. And it's not limited to the UK.

As of April 21, there have been at least 169 cases of acute hepatitis reported from 11 countries (Cases have been reported in the UK (114), Spain (13), Israel (12), the United States of America (9), Denmark (6), Ireland (<5), The Netherlands (4), Italy (4), Norway (2), France (2), Romania (1), and Belgium (1).) The kids who have been tested have come up negative for hepatitis A through E, but some have tested positive for adenovirus.

So far they don't know what's causing it, but are explicitly stating it has nothing to do with vaccinations since most of the children infected were too young to have received the shots. We don't think that rules anything out.

Join us on this episode of Objective:Health as we speculate as to possible reasons we may be seeing this strange hepatitis outbreak.

SOTT Focus: NewsReal: UK Govt Now Says Russia Might Win in Ukraine After All

russia putin ukraine newsreal
© Sott.net
In an unexpected shift from the unified Western narrative that Russia is losing badly and will soon be driven out, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson this week became the first Western leader to concede Vladimir Putin could 'win the war' in Ukraine, and that it could last until the end of next year.

This revelation is shocking to those who believe the Western media's war propaganda, but unsurprising to skeptics. This week on NewsReal, Joe and Niall contrast shifting British and Western expectations with the unchanged Russian ones, noting the recent capture of Mariupol and the Russian military's 'land bridge' to Crimea.

Meanwhile, in a development that was blacked out by Western media, Russian envoys reported to the UN last week details about a global complex of American bio-labs that ring Russia and China for the purpose of unleashing ethnic-specific weapons - something that perhaps explains China's extreme lockdowns in Shanghai and Hong Kong.

'Back home', EUrocrats continue threatening to place embargoes on Russian oil and gas by year's end, a development that will effectively de-industrialize Europe and impoverish tens of millions of people, while in the US major food distribution facilities are mysteriously burning to the ground.

Is this all to 'get Putin'? To 'save the planet'? Is this the result of feckless ideology run amuck, or is there an element of wilfull destruction behind it all?

SOTT Focus: MindMatters: Political Psychopathy Goes Mainstream, Linked to Crimes Against Humanity

pinochet
Not since Nuremberg have political leaders and functionaries accused or guilty of crimes against humanity been accessible to psychologists for close study, specifically with regard to the presence of personality disorders like psychopathy. A new paper by Robert Hare and colleagues is the first of its kind to examine men convicted of crimes against humanity and test for psychopathy using the PCL-R, specifically, members of Pinochet's armed forces convicted of crimes like torture and murder. Today on MindMatters, Harrison reads portions of the paper and discusses its main conclusions and implications. (See his substack post on the subject too.)
