It's finally here! The irrefutable evidence of malevolent Russian meddling in the elections of our democratic nations has finally been revealed, and it's absolutely stunning. "Incontrovertible!" "Mounting evidence!" That's how the British press described the evidence in November for Russian meddling in the Brexit vote.

Even though the Kremlin has cynically denied it on countless occasions, this week we got absolute proof that Vladimir Putin and his wretched rubles were directly responsible for manipulating millions of Britons to vote to leave the EU, potentially bankrupting the city of London and bringing down the civilized world as we know it. Bombarded by Kremlin-bot-backed social media propaganda, naive Brits were maliciously manipulated into voting the way Vladimir Putin wanted them to, and against their better judgment. The British elite were powerless against this Russian information war onslaught. The memes were just too good, using cutting-edge Russian persuasion technology.

Quoting a letter provided by Facebook's HQ, The Telegraph reported that the total investment by all the social network accounts of the Saint Petersburg based IRA (Internet Research Agency) was... are you ready?... under a dollar. That's right, Putin's measly pennies (or were they 'Putin Coins'?) are so powerful that he doesn't need to spend much to change the course of history. The price of Western democracy, it seems, is less than a Pumpkin Spice Latte.

It is said that a genius is someone who can hold two contradictory ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function. But a person who not only holds two contradictory ideas in mind at the same time but then proceeds to act on them, is obviously an idiot. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is just such an idiot.

When he is not virtue-signaling about diversity and inclusion, pretending to be a feminist, posing for photos with topless women, paying out over 10 million dollars to convicted terrorists, apologizing to various minority groups for every conceivable injustice that history may have visited upon them, and attempting to reintegrate ISIS fighters into Canadian society, he likes to sell weapons of war.

Charlie Sheen is suing the National Enquirer for defamation after they released an article claiming he sodomized a 13-year-old Corey Haim in the 1980s when they were on set filming 'Lucas'. Sheen has vehemently denied the allegations, stating they are malicious stories published by Dylan Howard (American Media, Inc. chief content officer) who has a personal vendetta against him.

American Media, Inc. the parent company of the National Enquirer, issued a public statement on the matter:

"We look forward to litigating against Charlie Sheen, and can't wait to expose his depravities in a court of law," an AMI spokesperson told THR.

The original story, described here, claims Sheen sexually abused Haim and "pushed him down a drug fueled-path to an early grave." The allegations came from Dominick Brascia, who in the past was also accused of assaulting Haim, which he too denied.

As the US rolls into the 16th year of its 'longest-ever' war, in Afghanistan - ostensibly against the Taliban, although no one really knows who they are anymore - and appears to be seriously considering another large-scale intervention on the Korean peninsula, it's worth recalling what took place the last time US forces amassed in East Asia.

The Vietnam War - known by Vietnamese as 'the American War' - was a long, protracted, bloody mess. Most histories of the war say it lasted either 10 or 20 years, depending on what phase is taken as its starting point: large-scale, regular US military forces were engaged from 1965 to 1975; alternately, US military 'advisors' under the auspices of the CIA first intervened there in 1955. But there was an earlier phase still to this war, one that blends it into occupation by imperial France, and WWII occupation by Japan before that.

At 20-30 years, this would certainly make Vietnam, and not Afghanistan, America's 'longest war'. In any event, some 2,600,000 American soldiers rotated through Indochina in the 1960s and 70s, 58,000 of whom lost their lives, while to up to 3 million Vietnamese died.

In most accounts of the war, it is represented as a relative blip in American history, a fight lost against a guerrilla communist force known as the 'Vietcong', an enemy comprising elusive forces capable of surprising and surrounding helpless American soldiers, then disappearing into the jungle as quickly as they appeared. They would use local inhabitants and villages as human-shields so that American napalm and machine-guns couldn't tell the difference between friend and foe. At least, that's one take on it.

As we near the end of 2017 it seems only fitting to review the diseases that have swept the world and held our attention. Russian President Vladimir Putin held his annual marathon press conference today. Over 1,600 journalists were accredited for the event, which ended up lasting just under four hours.

The entire ritual just demonstrates how far Russia still has to go before it becomes a full-fledged Western democracy. In a real democracy, leaders only take pre-approved soft-ball questions from a select group of hand-picked journalists and then read their answers from teleprompters. Tough or unexpected questions are either ignored or given a pat answer devoid of any real information. After 20 minutes or so, that's a wrap. Under no circumstances are leaders to field countless questions from a range of sources, and extemporaneously provide detailed answers on a wide range of subjects. Sound about right?

Actually, the reason Western leaders don't do such things is because they're simply incapable of it. They don't have a command of all the facts and figures. They know their 'policy positions' are just slogans and sound bites made up for public consumption, so their answers are never in-depth or backed up by anything of substance. And they know the justification for the 'party line' is based on a foundation of deceit and lies, so they can't give adequate space for facts or other points of view. When you're following a script, you can't be spontaneous. Putin, on the other hand, can do so because he's something all his Western 'colleagues' are not: a real leader.

From fireballs to floods to unseasonable snow in both hemispheres of our planet, this past November saw many meteorological records broken.
After an unusually strong X-class solar flare and unusual solar activity back in September - possibly related to a series of powerful earthquakes above 7.0M in New Caledonia and Mexico - last month was marked by three powerful earthquakes that caused widespread damage - in Iraq/Iran, Chile and South Korea. Meanwhile, volcanic activity seems to have reached a seasonal peak (yes, soon we'll have to start talking about 'volcano season').

These increased geological phenomena, and the official predictions of an increase in earthquake activity in 2018 due to the slow-down of Earth's rotation, have left affected people with a feeling of dread.

Droughts also worsened in Portugal and Spain last month, while sheets of rain fell in South America, Australia, and in most parts of Asia. All this at a time when meteorologists are finding themselves having to use the term 'atmospheric phenomena' because 'rainfall' just doesn't cut it anymore.

Trumpet sounds and portents in the sky were seen as harbingers of changing times in the past, from the social and political arena, to significant cosmic events. So fasten your seat belts folks, because it seems that things are going to get rough.

Ukraine has long been known for pervasive corruption. Yet, the current US-backed regime in Kiev takes the cake - or rather, it steals it from disabled children.

Ukraine is so corrupt, Joe 'attaboy' Biden commented that corruption was "eating Ukraine like a cancer." He should know too, after one of his sons cashed in on the firesale of state assets following the US regime change operation there in 2014.

Not to be outdone, the first lady of Ukraine, Marina Poroshenko, is embroiled in a corruption scandal of her own. The country's Ministry of Justice suspects her involvement in a money-laundering scheme with funds meant for the families of children with disabilities. If true, it sounds like she could be a viable candidate for Ukraine's next president. She could do lunch and compare schemes with that haggardly has-been Hillary.

But the Ukrainian First Lady is probably just taking her lead from her husband. President Petro Poroshenko and his supporters have been making moves to do away with the country's anti-corruption bodies, drawing criticism even from the West. The head of Ukraine's anti-corruption committee, Yegor Sobolev, has recently been dismissed. He condemned the move saying, "the former and present corrupt elite have colluded. Their plan is to break the independence of anti-corruption bodies and replace them with fake ones." To make matters worse, Western governments have dumped millions of their citizens' tax-dollars into Ukraine's anti-corruption programs, with the result being... more and more corruption. Amazing!

I sincerely hope that this is the very last time that I (or anyone else) will have to write about this topic. But here we go again.

New data has been added to the already sizable trove of evidence that clearly show that the FBI actively attempted to subvert American democracy by preventing Donald Trump from winning last year's US presidential election. When Trump won despite the FBI's efforts, the agency launched a 'Russian collusion' smear campaign against him in an attempt to hobble his presidency, in particular to prevent him from establishing closer ties with Russia and changing US foreign policy from one that promotes terrorism to one that fights it. Both of these measures would, of course, have been in the best interests of the American people.

It was revealed back in 2015 that Coca Cola invested at least $4 million in founding the 'Global Energy Balance Network' (GEBN), a non-profit organization run by university scientists engaged in obesity research projects.

The group said that halting weight gain should be less about dieting and more about "maintaining an active lifestyle and eating more calories". They claimed that there was no compelling evidence to suggest that people should blame fast food and sugary drinks for the obesity epidemic. GEBN's message was that "obesity is not about the foods or beverages you're consuming, it's that you're not balancing those foods with exercise". Their main claim was that there was "strong evidence" that lack of exercise is mostly to blame for obesity, not poor diet. GEBN's website and social media pages are no longer available after their industry-sponsorship came to public awareness.

In the same year, the public learned that Coca-Cola spent £8.9 million over the past five years funding top British scientists carrying out research on healthy-eating, including the British Nutrition Foundation (£224,769), the National Obesity Forum (£67,300) and the Science Media Centre (£30,000), which promotes the "voices and views of the UK scientific community to the news media."
