The X-Files: I Want to Believe, a film based on the popular television series about two FBI agents who investigate paranormal cases, lands in movie theaters today.

And while agents Scully and Mulder explore the X-Files, we decided to take a look at the M-Files - some of Mississippi's unexplained sightings.

On the 27th of July tens of citizens of the Russian city of Kaliningrad witnessed an UFO. For nearly an hour the unknown silver object hung over the local Blue Lakes. According to the witnesses, the discus-shaped UFO attracted attention of the locals who had a rest at the lakes and they started waving their hands as a sign of greeting to the object. Some people started making shots of the object and shooting video with their mobile phones.

California, US: Coast Guard investigates flares in San Joaquin River

Around 8 a.m. this morning, U.S. Coast Guard officials suspended a search for the source of emergency flares that were seen in the San Joaquin River in Contra Costa County.

At 1:30 a.m. Saturday, a red flare was reported in the river around the Antioch Bridge, Petty Officer Laura Alcon said. A Coast Guard boat and helicopter searched for hours until 3:30 a.m., two additional red flares were seen, she said.

Rosario - I was driving in my car along Calle 3 de Febrero in a westbound direction, paying attention to the traffic, when something in the sky drew my attention. Upon looking upward, I saw several objects floating some 60 degrees over the horizon. They seemed very distant and very high in the air.

The most outstanding thing was a "sort of dirigible balloon suspended in the air" - it was shiny, white, did not make any erratic movements and remained static. To its right, and beneath it, was a lens-shaped object; above this one, was another lens-shaped object, and still another one to the right of the "balloon" - it was clear that these were parallel to the surface, all of them reflecting the sun's light on their surfaces, as if metallic. To the far right of this cluster of objects were six objects, keeping distance between each other. No apparent movement was discernible among these either.

In 2002, Gary McKinnon was arrested by the UK's national high-tech crime unit, after being accused of hacking into Nasa and the US military computer networks.

He says he spent two years looking for photographic evidence of alien spacecraft and advanced power technology.

The U.S. Bush administration now wants to put him on trial, and if tried there he could face 60 years behind bars.

The search for proof of the existence of UFOs landed Gary McKinnon in a world of trouble.

Clark McClelland is a retired Spacecraft Operator with NASA who during a 34 year career was responsible for ensuring the safety of numerous NASA missions including Mercury spaceflights, Apollo missions, the International Space Station and the Space Shuttle. In a statement released on his website on July 29, 2008, McClelland revealed that he witnessed an eight to nine foot tall extraterrestrial in association with a Space Shuttle mission he was monitoring from the Kennedy Space Center. He wrote:

"I, Clark C. McClelland, former ScO [Spacecraft Operator], Space Shuttle Fleet, personally observed an 8 to 9 foot tall ET on his 27 inch video monitors while on duty in the Kennedy Space Center, Launch Control Center (LCC). The ET was standing upright in the Space Shuttle Payload Bay having a discussion with TWO tethered US NASA Astronauts! I also observed on my monitors, the spacecraft of the ET as it was in a stabilized, safe orbit to the rear of the Space Shuttle main engine pods. I observed this incident for about one minute and seven seconds. Plenty of time to memorize all that I was observing. IT WAS AN ET and Alien Star Ship!"

UK: Our Garden was Buzzed by a UFO!

North Devon - Bob and Christine Bird were enjoying a lazy summer evening in their garden when they claim a UFO swooped low over their bungalow.

The astonished South Molton grandparents, their daughter and son-in-law and grandchildren, had been sitting in the back garden for about an hour before they spotted the "orange blob" slowly moving towards them at around 10pm on Saturday night.

"It started to slow down above us and it wasn't that high up, at least it didn't seem like it," Christine, 57, told the Gazette.

"As it began to move over the house, my husband went indoors to get his camera. My daughter and I went to the front door and suddenly this 'thing' started to move.

FOSSTON - The first reports of something amiss in the wheat fields east of here came early Sunday from barking dogs and bawling cows, but no livestock is missing - no people, either - so locals seem inclined to doubt that alien spaceships made a stop at Dean Sorgaard's place.
