In February 1942, Americans, especially those living on the West Coast, were still reeling from the shock caused by the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii just a couple of months before. That attack had left numerous battleships sunk or heavily damaged and almost 3,000 American military personnel and civilians dead.
America was now at war and people were fearful that another attack could happen at any moment.
That month, folks in the city of Los Angeles were nervously watching the skies and patrolling the Pacific coast. What happened next would become known as the Battle of Los Angeles and to this day, some suspect that the invader was not of this Earth.
During the night of Feb. 24, 1942 and the early morning hours of Feb. 25, a large unidentified flying object or objects were reported over Los Angeles. Air raid sirens were sounded throughout Los Angeles County at 2:25 a.m. on Feb. 25 and a total blackout was ordered. Thousands of air raid wardens were summoned to their positions, according to a Web site.

Location of Sighting: Nr Polesworth, Warwickshire
Date of Sighting: 24th April 2010
Time: 8.45pm
Witness Statement: At 8.45pm yesterday evening (24th April) my wife and I were driving towards Polesworth in Warwickshire and saw a large dark object, too low for a plane, and too large for a bird, hover in the sky and then seem to shoot over our heads and disappear above the trees of a nearby Residential Care home. It came quite low over the road and looked to be about the size of a car. No explanation and never seen anything of this sort before.

Location of Sighting: Glasgow West / Paisley East
Date of Sighting: 24th April 2010
Time: 10.15 pm
Witness Statement: Around 10.15pm I went out into the back garden, a bright orange light caught my eye in the sky. I could not believe my eyes, I followed it and as I continued to watch it another one appeared. I was wondering what this could be, as I continued to look at the sky a third one appeared. I ran inside to get my son to see this, as we stood looking a fourth and fifth one appeared. I went to get my husband and he came out and witnessed them also. We ran to the front of the house as a 6th, 7th then 8th one appeared. The light was like a ball of fire, it was so bright and there was no noise at all. The sky was silent until a helicopter appeared, we continued to watch these lights, they turned direction following each other, the 2nd light in the chain seemed to catch up with the 1st one and they flew side-by-side while the others were in a straight line behind.

Location of Sighting: Basingstoke, off of M3
Date of Sighting: 24/04/10
Time: 9PM
Witness Statement: Saturday 24th April 2010, 9pm. Driving back toward London on the M3 I saw 3 v-shaped objects hovering in the sky around the Basingstoke area. All had extremely bright and alternating lights along the wings of the 'V' and hovered, moving almost like a kite. Seems very consistent with other sightings in this area. I have never seen anything like this and these were certainly physical objects rather than 'disco lights'. Did anybody else see these on Sat night?

Location of Sighting: Lymm, Cheshire
Date of Sighting: 25 April 2010
Time: 2115
Witness Statement: At approximately 9:15pm on the 25th April 2010, I was sitting in my living room of my apartment. The curtains in the room were open and whilst watching T.V, from the window which points in a S.E direction I noticed a bright orange trail shoot up into the sky. My attention was drawn to the light, thinking at first that it was a rocket style firework. Being quite strange for time of year, I watched waiting for the firework to explode. The object continued to climb, but I was able to determine that it had now reached the cloudbase, which was only just visible in the near dark conditions. The object entered the cloud and could be seen fading as it appeared to climb higher. Then the object dropped back out of the cloud, dropping again at high speed. As I watched, it became apparent that there were two distinct orange trails coming from the object as it dropped. The object then appeared to hover just over the roofline, but some way off in the distance of houses on the adjacent street.

Location of Sighting: Hampstead, London
Date of Sighting: 26 04 10
Time: 9.00am
Witness Statement: Saw a metallic black square hovering at constant height from the ground and moving at constant speed away, about 200 meters high and 400 meters away, over the Hampstead Heath ponds approximately. There was no noise, it looked made of a non reflective black metal and it morphed from a square to rectangle as it was moving. It looked weightless and totally silent. There was no wind this morning and the sky was overcast if that matters.

Location of Sighting: Lee On The Solent, Hampshire
Date of Sighting: 23rd April 2010
Time: 22.40
Witness Statement: We had just arrived in, and I was upstairs when my husband called me down to see once again these strange orange lights in the sky. Unlike last year [comment made on this site 4th June 2009] this time there were only three, these were moving without a sound behind one another across the sky, then almost fading to a faint twinkle, then disappearing. Lots of helicopter activity in the area, so can rule out any type of aircraft, or chinese lanterns, for one thing the lights are too big and bright.
Spooky sightings of ghouls, ghosts and evil spirits are higher than they have been in the past 25 years, according to a new report on haunted Britain.

There have been nearly 1,000 reports of demonic activity in the past quarter of a century, with Yorkshire the nation's most ghostly county.
Encounters with devils, demons and evil spirits are as widespread today as they were in medieval times, researchers claim.
The research was led by the UKs leading authority on the unexplained Lionel Fanthorpe who studied various archives and websites as well as his own reports to identify all sightings and recordings of supernatural beings with satanic qualities.
