California, US: Motorist reports strange object in sky above I-5

A motorist who is a high school football coach is seeking more information about a strange object he says he saw in the skies above Camp Pendleton late Tuesday.

Heading south on Interstate 5 at about 10:45 p.m., Tony Paopao said he and his wife saw what appeared to be a large, brightly lit flying vehicle pass overhead and briefly hover in place, before heading toward the mountains of Camp Pendleton and then out of sight.

"It was about 100 yards up. It was too low to be a plane and it was too fast and too quiet to be a helicopter," Paopao said. "I'm just curious if anybody saw what I saw."

He said he slowed down to get a better look at the mysterious object and saw red brake lights all around on the freeway, indicating that others were also slowing to get a gander.

Canada: Triangular UFO spotted over Deline

Fort Franklin - An unidentified flying object was seen hovering over Deline the morning of Nov. 2.

Simon Neyelle was on his way home at 5 a.m. when he first saw a bright light hovering near a ridge just outside of the community.

"It was just sitting there, it didn't move," said Neyelle. He observed the object hovering over the ridge for an hour, and called other people in the community to see the object.

Martina Taniton and Dave Taniton also saw the object and Dave took nearly an hour of footage. Martina described the object as a triangle shape with a big light in the middle of it that looked like a bright star. The object was close to the Taniton's residence, and Martina said it was slowly moving backwards.

Pheobe Esau also saw the object and her husband took a short video. Esau said she could see some sort of laser coming out of the bottom of the object going into a lake below.

Since 1975, North Bergen (New Jersey) had most reports in USA

For some reason, this densely-populated town in northern Hudson County has had the highest number of reported sightings of aliens and unidentified flying objects (UFOs) over the last 30 years.

Most of them have been centered out of the southeastern end of North Hudson Braddock Park, a large park named after deceased boxer James "Cinderella Man" Braddock.

The North Bergen sightings have been documented and reported to several agencies, including the National UFO Reporting Center in Seattle and the Center for UFO Studies in Chicago.

Since two people reported a major sighting to federal authorities back in 1975, there have been a total of 775 sightings or incidents involving North Bergen residents, easily the highest total of reported incidents in the United States, according to Marc Sodderstrom of the National UFO Reporting Center in Seattle.

New Zealand: Girl's eyes gouged to lift Maori curse

A 14-year-old New Zealand girl has had her eyeballs gouged by relatives who thought she was possessed by the devil.

The girl was the cousin of Janet Moses, a 22-year-old mother of two who died on October 12 during the same ceremony to lift a Maori makutu (curse), the Dominion Post newspaper reported.

Relatives gouged her eyes because they believed they saw the devil in them, and poured water down her throat.

They finally took the teenager who was close to death to the Hutt Hospital, near Wellington, where she needed emergency treatment to save her sight.

It was earlier reported that about 40 people were at the ceremony last month and the teenager was taken to hospital, but the full extent of her injuries was not known.

Comment: A similar set of circumstances led to the death of the girl's mother only two weeks ago.

UK: Silent lights over Gloucestershire are UFO puzzle

The last thing Dave Perkins expected to see as he locked up at work was a UFO. But he has no other explanation for the mysterious red lights he spotted above Longhope.

Dave, who works at Richard Read's truck yard, described his close encounter.

"I was outside in the yard at about 11pm," he said. "I often look up at the stars and that moment I saw this bright red light moving slowly across the sky.

"Then a second, third and fourth light appeared and they were all equally spaced. It was as if someone put a ruler up between the stars."

As he stood and stared Dave saw the lights continue to move across the sky, without making any sound.

Comment: There have been many UFO sightings in the UK lately, including one which stimulated a response from the RAF. Check out our High Strangeness section for the rest of them.

But how many go unreported? A comment from a reader to the article above states:

UK: UFO sighted at Battle

A Battle woman believes she may have sighted a UFO over the town on Wednesday morning.

Ann Drake, from Mount Street, was looking out of her window at 6.20am when she noticed the mysterious glowing object.

She said: "My window has a clear view east over fields. I noticed this incredibly bright light just hanging there in front of the clouds.

"It was too bright and in the wrong place to be a morning star.

"I had a cup of tea and went to pull the bedroom curtains ten minutes later and it was still there, just hanging stationary. Then I noticed a red light and it accelerated away at incredible speed.

England: Another UFO sighting over Ripley

Unexplained orange lights have been sighted for a second time over Ripley. Rebeka Stapleton was driving through the town on the night of November 2 when she spotted 13 UFOs.

She was with her sister and her partner who all saw the orange balls of light floating over the town.

The three parked at the police station to watch them in the sky.

"My initial thought was that they were street lights but as I gazed I noticed that they were moving, I thought they were suspended by wire but they moved too much to be suspended," Miss Stapleton, said.

"One by one they started to move away soon they disappeared out of sight."

UK: UFO report - RAF did send fighters up

A UFO spotter from Felpham has appealed to anyone else who saw the objects to contact him. Leo Lindsay and his wife, Rosie, watched the visitors from outer space from a bedroom window.

Mr Lindsay has since had unofficial confirmation from the Ministry of Defence that two RAF planes were sent up to investigate the phenomenon.

"The RAF don't do that unless there is a real reason," he stated. "I can't believe no one else saw the objects. I would estimate they were each about the size of a house. Anyone walking along Felpham seafront at that time would not have been able to miss them. I hope they will let me know on 01243 855728."

Lynnda said she watched it for about another 20 minutes, then went to get her camera.

'Yes,' she said. 'You've guessed.

'Nothing came out.'

North Carolina, US: Teens Report Spotting UFO

Jacob Cole and Ben Sizer sat on the porch of Cole's home near Lake Auman, grilling hamburgers when they noticed a "bright, big, green glow" in the sky.

"It was fizzling, falling like it was on fire," Cole said of the object that appeared in the sky around 6:15 p.m.

As it fell, Cole said the object split, with the smaller orb falling at a faster rate.

Cole, 17, said he and Sizer, 16, had been outside for about an hour when they noticed the object.

"I yelled at my buddy (Sizer), and we just stood there and stared at it," Cole said.

The Pinecrest High School students say they watched the objects for several minutes before Cole, an astronomy buff, raced inside the house to grab his telescope.
