High Strangeness
This image, snapped by an as of yet unnamed game trapper from Alberta, certainly appears to be a rather good snap of what looks like some kind of big primate lounging around in the forest; a far cry from the usual "blobquatch" images of blurry brown specs viewed through leaves and digital zoom.
The photo is so striking, in fact, that one could easily wonder if it wasn't actually an image of a gorilla snapped in a preserve somewhere. The woman who uploaded the photo to Facebook a few hours ago, Penny, swears that isn't the case.

The truth is out there? The U.S. Air Force released this 1972 photo of a Viking space probe as part of its report on the so called 'Roswell Incident' of 1947
Lt. Col. Richard French, who served in the military for more than 27 years, was in Alamagordo, New Mexico, in 1947, when an unusual object fell from the sky and crashed to the ground in Roswell.
Military authorities issued a press release after the shocking incident, saying: 'The many rumours regarding the flying disc became a reality yesterday when the intelligence officer of the 509th Bomb Group of the Eighth Air Force, Roswell Army Air Field, was fortunate enough to gain possession of a disc.'
A bright white and blue light was spotted near to the offshore wind farm at around 8.30pm on Saturday and after appearing to rise higher into the sky, its lights began to flash green and red around its base.
Andrew Cochran spotted the object and described it as "strange".
He said: "I was walking along the sea front heading away from the pier looking out towards the wind turbine farm on the horizon when I noticed [it], then it appeared to move about them. I assumed it was a helicopter.
"The object then shot up really fast and stopped when it was very high in the sky."
- UFOs are real, solid physical phenomena that are under intelligent control and are capable of speeds, maneuverability and luminosity vastly beyond known earthly technology.
- UFO incursions and flight patterns can cause worldwide aviation hazards and pose serious military security concerns on a global basis.
- The U.S. government has frequently issued false explanations of UFO sightings and contacts.
- The hypothesis that UFOs are of extraterrestrial origin must be taken seriously into account.
- The overwhelming abundance of UFO evidence calls for systematic, open investigation by the U.S. government and institutions of higher education throughout the country and the world.
The video is shot from a backyard garden and the sounds of the helicopter's blades can be plainly heard, although the chopper itself is too far off to make out very well. That means the unidentified flying object nearby is also too far away to make out clearly.
But it's the way the object moves through the air which is mystifying.
The helicopter is clearly moving toward it and hovers for a closer look. What happens next in the one minute video is where it gets weird. The UFO circles and spins faster than any known aircraft and seems to be playing a game of tag with the chopper.
If this object were any usual aircraft, what it's doing would be extremely dangerous and illegal. The truly astounding aspect of this sighting is the crazy way this unknown craft is behaving with a helicopter so nearby.
We transcribe below the recording made by Prof. Pedro Araneda only hours after the events that took place in Pampa de Lluscuma, Chile (1977)
It should be noted that this professor worked in the vicinity of Putre and was a corresponded for the La Estrella de Arica newspaper at that time. The recording is hard to understand at certain moments, because all of the recruits speak at once and in a disordered manner -- an understandable situation, since the recording was made during an altered emotional state, many times repeating facts, confusing words and details.
Professor Aranda, a witness to all this, commanded respect and full social credibility. As can be seen from the recording, there is a military man or bureaucrat present: the bureaucrat surnamed Flores? Supposedly, members of the army were in Putre at that time by chance. The presence of a soldier with the last name of Roca is also noted, who also recorded at that time. The full recording has duration of 180 minutes.
A woman identified as Pascuala Alzogaray, who lives in El Divisadero in Rivadavia, in the middle of the Saltean "chaco", rode her horse 25 kilometers in the middle of the night to request assistance from the police officers at the small community of La Union, since, as she claimed, all local ranchers are frightened by the recurring presence of a strange, hairy humanoid of considerable size.
Alzogaray claims having seen the creature and described it as a sort of gorilla, covered in hair, walking on two legs and with the aspect of "an accursed being."
"Something must be done about it, it's the Ucumar," she told police officers at the barracks, located 500 miles north of the provincial capital.
The video, posted by the UK's Arran Shaw and his mum, is filmed on an iPhone and taken from a laptop screen downloading the SoL EarthCam feed, so the resolution is less than optimal.
The video segment is listed as having been recorded in July but only recently reviewed. The commentary is crucial as the two remark excitedly about the find.

Flying sorcery ... one of the restricted documents, now released.
Documents that have just become available under the 30-year rule at the National Archives of Australia reveal how two RAAF Mirage jets were placed on the second highest level of alert to determine the cause of unidentified radar contacts seen on screens at Mascot.
The ''X Files'' viewed in Canberra also give details of other unexplained sightings, some of which are supported by witness statements to police.
In the Sydney alert, the papers stamped ''restricted'' tell how operation Close Encounter was launched by No.3 Control and Reporting Unit at RAAF Base Williamtown near Newcastle on June 30, 1983, after the phenomenon was first noticed earlier in the month.
Senior air controllers at Mascot said the contacts were mostly located between 70 and 150 nautical miles north of Sydney at ''alleged speeds of 1100-6500 km/h that suggested high altitude''.
Last week dozens of witnesses saw a strange, unidentified flying object, hovering in the night sky around Cape Girardeau. It was described as round, with red and white blinking lights. Eyewitnesses say they know the difference between an airplane and what they were looking at and can offer no explanation.
The area has a long history of unusual sightings, with reports going back for decades. This news report includes comments by a woman who claims her grandfather was sworn to secrecy after investigating a crashed UFO with the dead bodies of aliens inside.
