A mysterious orange light shimmering in the night sky above North Cheam has posed a new riddle for UFO researchers.

Michele Weekes, 44, spotted an orb hovering silently over Windsor Road while standing in her garden late on Easter Day.

The teaching assistant suspected the fast-moving object was a burning aircraft until witnessing its agility and otherworldly glow.

She is now appealing to local stargazers to confirm they saw the UFO light or to offer an explanation for the phenomenon

England: Orange light in sky - more sightings

Readers have been contacting The Shuttle to report more sightings of orange lights in the sky.

We made an appeal for information last week after John Shellis, of Birmingham Road, Blakedown, said he saw a light that looked like "a large ball" moving "quite low in the sky" at about 12.30am on Sunday, April 12.

Jimmy Gilman, of Burlish Park, said he had a similar experience at the same time. He explained: "I thought it looked too big for a star, too slow for a shooting star, too fast for a plane and with no noise anyway.

England: Residents sight more strange lights

Shropshire residents have been stunned by the sight of more strange lights in the skies this month.

One woman spotted what she called a "huge ball of white light" heading towards the ground in Broseley Wood yesterday at about 11pm.

And Louise Butcher saw a light about the size of "a cluster of stars" moving across the sky over Church Stretton at the beginning of April.

She said: "I shouted for my son and we both looked up in amazement as it slowly got bigger.

The UFO Traffic Report for Monday, April 20, includes 12 cases over 10 states, according to witness statements filed with the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

Please keep in mind that many UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If MUFON investigates and reports back on any of these cases, I will update this page. You can read my selected cases by type of UFO report at the UFO Traffic Report main page.

Witnesses may report directly to me here on specific cases, but I request that everyone please report their UFOs at the MUFON.com web site so that the body of evidence can be studied. Thanks to the many witnesses who followed up with me here, and to those who have shared past memories of UFO cases. We have a staff of illustrators who can create graphic representations to your stories.

We start today in New York state, where a witness noticed a very reflective object on April 16, 2009, that was the size of a quarter in the night sky.

US: Triangle UFOs reported over five states

Triangular-shaped UFOs were reported by witnesses in five recent cases in five states over three days, according to data collected by the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON). Four of those cases occurred on April 16, 2009.

US: Busy weekend for UFO sightings, especially in the southern states

It was a brisk weekend for UFO sightings being reported, especially from the southern states. Several reports were received from Tenessee, in addition to Georgia and Florida.

Witness reported that he recently moved to Tennessee from Virginia. He states that he witnesses strange objects in the sky on a daily basis. Witness submitted the photograph illustrated on the right, with a strange object visible on the left side of the picture, above the tree line. He also claims to regularly photograph strange balls on the ground (also visible in the photo).

Description: Standing out front of my partners parents house admiring his mothers new car in Browns Plains, we noticed an object in the sky, which seemed very bright, a lot brighter than the rest of the sky, it seemed to be travelling in a straight line heading north west, as it got closer it became very bright and looked like it was on fire.. we all freaked out as we thought it was a plane, maybe a huge shooting star.. Then it looked like a couple of pieces of it broke off which were fire looking round objects and stayed still in the sky burning so bright you could not miss it. All of a sudden it started moving back in the direction it came from and we finally lost sight of it!!

Hi,

My Name is Brian and I'm a follower of ufo sightings, I was on your site today and saw that you update daily. I spotted a ufo in New Jersey on the 30th March 09.

I was on my way home on the train from Waldwick to Hoboken. As I watch the skies any time I have the chance I was looking out the window of the train and at between 10.10 to 10.20am (not to sure of the exact time) I saw what seemed to be a ufo, it was too high in the sky to be a bird and was traveling fast. It was a kind of dark gray and looked like some white on it, I think due to reflection. I wasn't too sure what it was till I saw an airplane flying in the opposite direction, it was smaller than the plane and looked about 20 feet and it was traveling faster than the plane.

Shape of objects: Bright point of white light with rotating diffuse diamond shaped red light as background, possibly above the object.
Weather Conditions: Clear night. Good star visibility. Temp 5C.

Description: Sitting in my garden observing the night sky, I became aware of an approaching light from the west, but with an oddly flickering red haze above it. I assumed it to be an approaching helicopter with a searchlight on and red navigation lights flashing above, and waited for the sound. As I watched I realised that the light was getting very bright indeed, that there was no sound as it came overhead, and that the red 'backlight' appeared to be getting larger. It also seemed to be going much too fast and too high to be a helicopter, although judgment of height was entirely subjective.

Weather Conditions: Clear sky, a calm night but cold

Description: After getting our little girl to bed, my partner and I settled down in front of the TV to watch a movie. It had not started long when the picture started to play up, it was like static all across the screen, then it would go blank with static. This would last for about 15/20 minutes at a time then then the TV would return to normal. I checked the other TV but it was the same. My partner joked saying that maybe it was the aliens, we laughed and put it down to the Ariel.
