Description: I was driving home from work when a semi-high altitude object caught my eye. It was white, cylindrical and was hovering. At first I thought it was airplane, however the fact that it wasn't moving and that it didn't have any wings made it stand out. At one point it turned, the afternoon sun caught the side of it and it appeared metallic. Then it vanished after I passed a small group of trees. I scanned the entire sky and there were no traces. My total viewing time was about 60 seconds.

US: Silver Dot Seen in Sky. Dot Changed Directions & Then Moved in Circles

Description: I saw just a silver dot. It looked like a satellite as I watched it move north to south at about a 50 degree angle in the sky. I thought it was a satellite until I saw it change directions and start turning tight circles. Occasionally it would take off in a straight line then stop and change directions by 180 degrees. It would then stop and go in tight circles both clockwise and counter clockwise. At times it would stop completely.

UK: Could strange lights be a UFO above Skegness?

Wednesday, 3pm: Meteor showers, Chinese lanterns, the ultra-secret TR3B aircraft or something of extra-terrestrial nature?

Residents from Winthorpe are the latest to report unexplained bright lights over Lincolnshire's coastline.

And if the source is alien, apparently we aren't the only species mesmerised by bashing little balls about with sticks.

Resident Sharon O'Brien, who lives opposite the Dunes pub, said she and two other friends had witnessed 'golden glows' over North Shore Golf Course last Thursday eve.

Lincolnshire Coastguard sector manager Samantha Jessop reported similar sightings and put it down to meteors.

Comment: Other eyewitnesses have since come forward:
I am a taxi driver in Skegness and was working on Saturday night/Sunday morning and I saw the very same light in the sky heading towards Louth.

I was standing talking to another driver on the KFC taxi rank and was joking about it to him saying that it was a UFO.

It was exactly as described in the Target (April 7) as a ball of orange light. At first I thought it could of been the jet engines of an aeroplane but as reported it was going very fast and made no sound.

Date of Sighting: 13th April 2010
Time: 0420am

Witness Statement: I awoke from my sleep to go to the bathroom at approximately 0415am. When I returned to my bed very much awake, I lay down and closed my eyes. Within a minute or 2 I heard this humming noise outside my window. When I opened my eyes there was a very bright light scanning my bedroom. I froze in fear. The light scanned for approximately 30 seconds, then within another 2 seconds, the humming noise stopped. Now my bedroom is at the back of our house and the window faces another house. There are no roads out the back so it cancels out a passing vehicle. I don't know where to report this to but I need to know what on earth I just experienced as I am very scared.

Witness Statement: Hi, I live in Staines and I have seen something that is like your description. As I said, I live in Staines and see aircraft and helicopters all the time, but on Friday 9th April at 11:30 ish, I noticed what I thought was lantern in the horizon. I kept watching as I thought it was quite dangerous flying around in this area. I kept watching it as it was moving closer and I then thought it's got to be a helicopter. This thing was moving towards my house so out of interest I kept watching and then decided it had to be an aircraft that he aborted a landing as the orange light got brighter and looked like aircraft lights (front aircraft light and two on the side). The strange thing is this thing flew over my house but I could not make out a shape only the lights that were in a diamond formation (it was one craft).

Witness Statement: I'm only making this statement as when I checked this site yesterday, there was no similar statements. But now there's 3 or 4.

My sighting was almost the same as the others in that the object was an orb shaped bright light, covered a large distance in no time at all, silently and there wasn't a a cloud in the sky anywhere.

Date of Sighting: Monday 12th April 2010
Time: 9.20pm

Witness Statement: Sat near the window looking out eastwards I saw what looked like a red ball of fire moving across the sky at a moderate steady speed. It flew directly over my house heading in a west direction. I ran round to the other side of the house shouting to everybody in the house. All four of us saw now two red balls of fire moving at a steady speed and maintaining altitude and staying within a close distance of each other. Almost like 2 military helicopters would but there was no sound whatsoever! No sign of an engine of any sort! possibly a meteor but I'm sure it was traveling too slow and was at a constant low altitude of around 2000ft. It was definitely something flying and was very unusual!

Time: 11.30

Witness Statement: We were sitting in the garden with a group of friends. We had had a barbecue as the weather had been quite nice and as it had cooled down in the evening we decided to have a fire in the barbecue. A bright light in the shape of a circular disc appeared in the sky with very distinctive lights, directly above the house - at the same kind of height a helicopter would be. It seemed to come closer as if it were looking at the fire. It stayed for approximately 2 minutes, it then grew smaller until it disappeared into a small orange dot - we live quite rural so it was not a street light and there was no noise at all - it was completely silent so can't have been a helicopter or aeroplane - did anybody else see anything similar in this area?

Witness Statement: My wife and I were just getting something from the car in the drive when we both noticed two large orange orbs in the sky just above Woodvale Aerodrome. The Orbs were hovering and becoming smaller then larger. This sighting was definitely not Chinese Lanterns or Aircraft as a plane flew just above them. The objects were very orange in colour and after approximately 5 minutes one of them became smaller and totally disappeared without trace only to return a couple of minutes later to re join the other object. The two objects then hovered and went from side to side very quickly and became closer then flew into the distance very very quickly until only a small dot was visible then they both disappeared together.

Location of Sighting: Southend-on-Sea, Shoebury
Date of Sighting: April 10th
Time: 9pm

Witness Statement: I was in my back garden, facing south and to the left I saw a very bright ruby red coloured light. So bright it made me squint. The light was approximately 100m off the ground, and 200m in the distance. My wife was in the kitchen, I called her. She came out and was shocked at what we were seeing. The first thing she said was there's no sound. Completely silent. The light began to move from east to west. I ran to the bottom of the garden to get a better look as the lights from inside my house were making it harder to see. As I got to the end of the garden I saw the object surrounding the bright light. I can only describe it as a circle around the bright light with 5 long spikes top and bottom. It then faded very slowly, but before completely going out it sped off at an incredible speed in a south westerly direction.
