Sixty years ago a football match ground to a halt when unidentified flying objects were spotted above a stadium in Florence. Did aliens come to earth? If not, what were they?

It was 27 October 1954, a typically crisp autumn day in Tuscany. The mighty Fiorentina club was playing against its local rival Pistoiese.

Ten-thousand fans were watching in the concrete bowl of the Stadio Artemi Franchi. But just after half-time the stadium fell eerily silent - then a roar went up from the crowd. The spectators were no longer watching the match, but were looking up at the sky, fingers pointing. The players stopped playing, the ball rolled to a stand-still.

One of the footballers on the pitch was Ardico Magnini - he was something of a legend at the club and had played for Italy at the 1954 World Cup.

"I remember everything from A to Z," he says. "It was something that looked like an egg that was moving slowly, slowly, slowly. Everyone was looking up and also there was some glitter coming down from the sky, silver glitter.

A UFO sighting in southern West Virginia has been reported that not only presents multiple witnesses of the objects in question but also the witnessing of multiple unidentified flying objects during the sighting. Open Minds reported Oct. 17 that ten men working at a coal plant in Marmet, West Virginia, saw the four flying objects as a collective. Three of the UFOs were massive, the size of football fields. They were all flying extremely low to the ground - and deathly silent.

Originally reported on the Mutual UFO Network website, the actual sighting took place at 10 p.m. on October 12, 2014. It was quiet all around, according to the reporting witness. The plant had shut down. The guys had just finished some pipe repairs and were leaning against their vehicles.

One of the guys pointed at the sky. "What is that?" he asked.

Everyone looked up. The first of what would be three huge flying objects was headed toward them.

Workers at a New Jersey treatment plant say they saw a heavy, metallic object fall from the sky Wednesday, and they want to know where the potentially deadly projectile came from.

The employees at Secaucus Treatment Works said the 5-by-5 inch piece of metal debris hit a railing, ricocheted off a concrete tank, then hit the ground. It landed about 25 feet from where employees were working.

"It came close. It came pretty close," said employee Victor Suppa.

It "could have killed somebody, absolutely" if it hit anyone, added operations foreman Steven Bronowich.

Satan's Hollow: Tucked away in the Ohio woods exists what some insist is a 'portal to hell'

Tucked away behind the Ohio woods exists "Satan's Hollow" - a storm drain that supposedly serves as a gathering spot for devil worshipers.

"It's one of the best known, but least seen, urban legends around here," local blogger Rick Fenbers wrote. "A group of Satanists supposedly used to meet there in some type of altar room and conduct their rituals. ... They must have been pretty good, because the legend claims they managed to open a doorway to hell."

And, while it may simply sound like local folklore, some insist it's not. As WCPO-TV noted, many claim they've heard screams from inside the tunnels at night. Others say they've seen things that can't be explained.

Paranormal filmmaker David Scott published a YouTube tour of the site and said he was terrified throughout the shoot.

"This is one of the scariest locations I have ever investigated," he said.

This strange light was seen hovering in the sky above Eltham in South London on Monday night
The past few weeks have seen almost daily recordings of strange aerial anomalies in the skies all over the world. These orbs or points of light hover alone or in groups, form geometric shapes, are stationary then move erratically, and do not appear to be explainable in terms of the usual suspects: planes, planets, drones, ball lightning, etc. Here are just three from October 4th, 5th, and 6th.

October 4th, El Paso, Texas, USA

The eyewitness says:

This is footage that was taken out of my own camera from inside of an apartment complex in El Paso, TX on Oct. 4th, 2014 starting at 7:16 PM. The second set of footage was taken starting at 7:29 PM. I believe these to be Unidentified Flying Objects because of the strange ways that the lights in the sky were moving. There was no perceivable wind that day. The lights took upon triangular and "V" formations throughout the footage, and at a few points, one appears to go up while the other goes down, and one goes left while the other goes right. At certain points, the UFO's began to hover until disappearing into the night's sky.

Is this a ghost of 'the Grey Lady' of Dudley Castle, caught on camera for first time?

She's the ghost who has supposedly haunted Dudley Castle for centuries.

Now Birmingham couple Dean and Amy Harper believe they have captured a chilling image of the fabled Grey Lady - after taking photos in the tourist attraction's courtyard.

A simple snap of the Sharington Range - buildings erected within the castle in the mid-1500s - oozed paranormal activity, but was hidden at the time it was taken.

Upper rooms glowed red and there, in the archway below, was a blurred figure in trademark grey.

Dean said: "We went up to the castle ruins and while we were up there we thought we'd get some pictures of the grounds.

Daylight aerial anomaly recorded in Breckenridge, Colorado

Breckenridge Police say they are investigating reports of three "shiny" objects in the sky Friday morning.

"NORAD is not tracking any anomalies in that location. We are investigating," said Army Major Beth Smith, NORAD spokesperson.

Multiple people have called in to report the objects floating in the sky. The Summit County Sheriff's Office is also investigating.

Police have called the FAA. The FAA says they have not had any calls from the public regarding the sighting.

Witnesses say the objects would sometimes form triangles or straight lines across the horizon.

9NEWS reporter Matt Renoux said he doesn't believe the objects were drones or weather balloons, because the objects appeared stationary for as long as 15 minutes at times.

"They would just sit there... without moving an inch on our viewscreen in the camera," Renoux said during a 5 p.m. live report.

After about 15 minutes, a flash of light would appear and the "objects would take off across the mountain ridge," Renoux said.

A Utah television station reported Thursday about a similar incident happening in the Salt Lake City area.

Third aerial anomaly this week seen live on TV: Erie, Pennsylvania

Video shows a mothership hovering in the Pennsylvanian skies over Erie during the 11 O'clock news. This is the latest in a series of videos that show unidentified flying objects in the background of news reports.


In the first incident, a Scottish man, Vincent Smith from Blantyre in Scotland was watching the live telecast of the Hong Kong protests on BBC when he spotted a UFO in the protest video on his television screen. The incident occurred on Sept. 30, when Smith was recording the protests. He suddenly saw a bright green object flying in the sky while the pro-democracy protests were going on.


Another unidentified flying object was captured over the shoulder of weather specialist Colette Provencher during a TVA broadcast in Montreal on Oct. 2. The bright green object was thought to be a meteor as first reported by the media, then classified as space junk however, no debris has been found as of this time.


With sightings on the rise once again, I'm sure we'll continues to see more of these videos come out as the days go on. Keep you cameras handy and keep your eyes to the skies during this recent surge of activity.

Comment: The following UFO report places the Erie sighting on September 26:
UFO over Lake Erie I was watching the 11 o'clock newscast in Erie PA and at the end they always use a live camera shot from the top of the antenna camera. That night unlike others I noticed something out over the lake. It was moving slowly from right to left. Much too slow to be a plane. And much larger than a helicopter. It doesn't appear to be blinking. It's a cigar shape with a small strip of light missing in the middle. I recorded it on my DVR and then recorded it with my phone. As many times as I have seen the end of this newscast and that same shot from the antenna camera I have never noticed anything out of the ordinary like this. When played at normal speed it doesn't appear to be moving very fast. But I added a video when I fast forwarded and rewound the clip. Also I noticed they played the clip abnormally long before the start of the next show. Usually it's a couple seconds. When I shared this video with friends some said it was a boat. But I watched the news during the day and after the newscast they used a day shot from the same camera so I recorded it and overlapped it with the night shot. And the object in question appears to me like it is above the water line. Compared to the buildings and distance the object is pretty large. Just wondering if you could give me your professional opinion on the object and what you think it may be. Also after I contacted the news and asked the meteorologist what her thoughts were the next newscast the graphics were in the top right corner of the screen where the object was, as opposed to the bottom left. Just thought that was a little odd.

New report of ghostly black-eyed children sightings in Cannock Chase

A paranormal investigator is appealing for witnesses after a resurgence of sightings of an eerie entity known as the "black-eyed child".

Lee Brickley is scouring the Staffordshire beauty spot of Cannock Chase after receiving claims the girl, "who has coal-black pits for eye sockets" is making appearances again some 30 years after she was first spotted.

Brickley, who is the author of UFOs Werewolves & The Pig-Man: Exposing England's Strangest Location - Cannock Chase, received the latest report a fortnight ago.

The sighting, which he shared with Huffington Post UK was as follows:
"On Saturday 13th September, my wife and I were walking though Cannock Chase near to Stile Cop with our dog. Once we had entered the woodland, and the road was no longer visible, we started to hear the giggling noise of a little girl.

"To our amazement, a child, no taller than one meter in height appeared as if out of nowhere further up the path in front of us. We stopped dead in our tracks after noticing her eyes had no colour. Her head was tilted to the side in much the same way it would appear if she had been hung.

"She stared at us for around five minutes before running away into a densely grouped area of trees. My wife wanted to follow her, but I was having none of it."
An earlier description of the girl mirrors that of those chronicled in the early 1980s, the Birmingham Mail reports.
