Canadian eyes quick to spot UFOs

Some swirled, swooshed and hummed while others hovered, zipped and zoomed.

Canadians in four provinces reported seeing a record number of unidentified flying objects in 2007, according to an annual report released by a Winnipeg-based non-profit organization that has recorded UFO sightings since 1989.

The UFOlogy Research Institute, which compiles data from sources including Transport Canada and the Department of National Defence, said researchers examined 836 alleged UFO sightings in 2007, an increase of almost 12 per cent over 2006.

A Penwortham family is appealing to people who may have seen a UFO in the skies above their home. The Beesons say they saw the strange object hovering above Crookings Lane at 11.15pm on Sunday. Mum Catherine also claims that, as the craft hovered above, it projected an orange arch-shaped light shining on their conservatory roof.

A statue of the elusive lake monster Ogopogo has a place of honour in Kelowna, B.C.

Don't tell Robyn Holman that the mythical lake monster called the Ogopogo doesn't exist.

Because Holman says the elusive beast made an appearance as she and a friend were travelling along the highway near Peachland, B.C., on Sunday afternoon. Holman says she noticed a wave in the water on Okanagan Lake and couldn't believe her eyes when she turned to look.

Aliens have contacted humans several times but governments have hidden the truth for 60 years, the sixth man to walk on the moon has claimed.

Apollo 14 astronaut Dr Edgar Mitchell, said he was aware of many UFO visits to Earth during his career with NASA but each one was covered up.

Dr Mitchell, 77, said during a radio interview that sources at the space agency who had had contact with aliens described the beings as 'little people who look strange to us.'

Is it a comet, an aircraft, or satellite debris burning up in the atmosphere? A Winnipeg woman is asking for help to explain a mysterious object she caught on camera.

"It was like a red fireball falling down from the sky," Sylvia McLeod, 31, told CTV.ca Tuesday.

"I have no idea what it is. I thought it would be all over the news. I went on the Internet and tried to find any information, but couldn't find anything."

McLeod said she filmed the strange object Monday night between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., just as the sun set.

"It was moving kind of slowly. But I knew it was falling. I couldn't get the whole shot of it because my camera didn't have enough memory," she said.

Here is a nice article I found about underwater UFOs or what some call USOs, I thought you'd all enjoy. I think there is a high probability that UFOs are under our waters, at least it wouldn't surprise me. If you think about how vast the ocean really is, and how deep some parts are, I think I would be shocked if we didn't find anything down there.

Go back to some old books like those written by Ivan Sanderson. Many reports of UFOs emerging and submerging into the ocean. We also had sightings a few years ago off the Palos Verdes peninsula where UFOs were seen traveling under water.

FAA Release of Radar Data Signals a New 'Openness Policy' on UFOs

Significant support for the testimony of multiple witnesses of a UFO seen near Stephenville Texas on January 8, 2008 came in the form of radar data recently released by the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA). Responding to a series of Freedom of Information requests by the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), the FAA supplied 2.8 million radar returns from five sites covering the area where the UFO was sighted. A report by MUFON titled, "Special Research Report, Stephenville, Texas," provided a detailed analysis of raw data released by the FAA. The authors of the MUFON Stephenville Report, Glen Schulze and Robert Powell, stated: "data was obtained that indicates unidentified aircraft without transponder beacons which were not military jets, were found in the same compass direction and time frame as cited by the witnesses (Stephenville Report, p. 5)."
