Dr Mercola Interviews Denis Rancourt: 'There is no Scientific Evidence That Facemasks Inhibit Viral Spread'

mercola mask header covid
Story at-a-glance
  • Not a single randomized controlled trial with verified outcome has been able to detect a statistically significant advantage of wearing a mask versus not wearing a mask, when it comes to preventing infectious viral illness
  • If there were any significant advantage to wearing a mask to reduce infection risk to either the wearer or others in the vicinity, then it would have been detected in at least one of these trials, yet there's no sign of such a benefit
  • There is no evidence that masks are of any utility for preventing infection by either stopping the aerosol particles from coming out, or from going in. You're not helping the people around you by wearing a mask, and you're not helping yourself avoid the disease by wearing a mask
  • Infectious viral respiratory diseases primarily spread via very fine aerosol particles that are in suspension in the air. Any mask that allows you to breathe therefore allows for transmission of aerosolized viruses
  • All-cause mortality data are not affected by reporting bias. A detailed study of the current data of all-cause mortality shows the all-cause mortality this past winter was no different, statistically, from previous decades. COVID-19 is not a killer disease, and this pandemic has not brought anything out of the ordinary in terms of death toll
Intro

Denis Rancourt, Ph.D., a former full professor of physics, is a researcher with the Ontario Civil Liberties Association in Canada. He's held that volunteer position since 2014, which has given him the opportunity to dig into scientific issues that impact civil rights. He also did postdoctoral work in chemistry.

Here, we discuss the controversial topic of face masks. Should you wear one? When and where? Does it protect you or not? There's a wide range of opinions on this even within the natural health community.

Early on in the COVID-19 pandemic, I endorsed the use of face masks based on the experience of some of the Eastern European countries. The rationale of it seemed to make sense at the time. Since then, however, I've started to question their use.

Comment: Here's the paper on facemasks published by Rancourt:

The Science is Conclusive: Masks and Respirators do NOT Prevent Transmission of Viruses

And another paper in which he examines the all-cause mortality rate in Ontario, Canada during the lockdown, and concludes that it is 'likely' Canadian health authorities committed mass homicide:

Study of All-cause Mortality During Covid-19: No Plague, But Likely Mass Homicide by Government Response

Could CranioSacral Therapy help treat dementia & Alzheimer's disease?

MRI scan
Some call Alzheimer's disease the greatest tragedy of the 21st century.

Tremendous research efforts have been dedicated to learning more about the causes and possible treatment approaches for this debilitating and devastating brain disease.

According to the American Brain Foundation, brain diseases affect the lives of one in six people, bringing the total number of people suffering from neurological disorders to one billion worldwide. Brain disease has many different forms, ranging from concussion to stroke, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, migraines, brain tumors, brain trauma or ALS, just to name a few.

A Deadly Disease

The most devastating and widespread brain disease, however, is dementia and its most common cause, Alzheimer's disease. Based on data published by the Alzheimer's Association, in 2020 more than five million Americans are living with Alzheimer's and one in three seniors dies with Alzheimer's or another form of dementia.

We must inoculate ourselves against the crazy Anti-Rationalists

vaccine
Recently, leading anti-rationalist Dominic Lawson had his COVID 19 vaccine promotion pamphlet published by the Daily Mail with the headline "To win the war on Covid-19 we must inoculate Britain against the crazy anti-vaxxers." Like many anti-rationalists Dominic seems to struggle with complex issues.

Certainly questioning anything they are told is unthinkable. Repeating information is where it's at for the anti-rationalists.

Anti-rationalists are incapable of independent thought and need to be told what to believe by someone, some body or organisation, they consider to be important. They call these carefully selected important people and groups "reliable sources."

New CDC and WHO Study Proves 'No Evidence' Facemasks Prevent Virus

facemasks sign covid-19
Facebook's so-called "fact checkers" have struck again, claiming that my report on the science that proves that wearing facemasks, especially in non-medical settings does almost nothing to prevent the spread of a virus, is false... citing that it was based on old information.

Now, I'm reporting on a new study created in conjunction with the World Health Organization and published by the CDC from less than 60 days ago that once again proves that there is no evidence that wearing face masks in public prevents the spread of flu-like viruses. I'm also going to show you why the Facebook fact-checking system cannot be trusted.

Link to the CDC published study. This study was conducted in preparation for the development of guidelines by the World Health Organization on the use of nonpharmaceutical interventions for pandemic influenza in nonmedical settings. This study was supported by the World Health Organization.

Honey of stingless bees is low GI, does not cause tooth decay

Science has validated Indigenous wisdom by identifying a rare, healthy sugar in native stingless bee honey that is not found in any other food.

University of Queensland organic chemist Associate Professor Mary Fletcher said Indigenous peoples had long known that native stingless bee honey had special health properties.

"We tested honey from two Australian native stingless bee species, two in Malaysia and one in Brazil and found that up to 85 per cent of their sugar is trehalulose, not maltose as previously thought," she said.

More bang for your buckwheat: Siberian researchers say humble staple increases amount of "longevity protein" in the body

Researchers in Siberia claim they are the first in the world to have definitively confirmed buckwheat's status as a true 'superfood' which confers a unique healing effect on mammals by regulating key ageing processes.

Buckwheat has been a staple food across large sections of the northern hemisphere, from China through Russia and Kazakhstan and into eastern and central Europe, since farming began thousands of years ago.

But now researchers at the Siberian Federal University (SFU) in Krasnoyarsk, Russia have pinpointed exactly why this pseudocereal is so good for humans - it increases the amount of a so-called "longevity protein" called SIRT1 in our bodies, helping us to live longer, healthier lives.

"We were the first in the world to discover the advantages of buckwheat as a source of SIRT1. This plant is a real superfood," said researcher and SFU Associate Professor Shubhra Pande.

SIRT1 plays a powerful role in both the formation of fat cells and the metabolism of glucose in our systems, as well as the regulation of a number of key ageing processes.

Taking fake food to another level: New startup reveals lab-grown pork belly and bacon strips

In what could be a starting gun for the commercialization of the cell-based meat business, upstart cultivated meat company Higher Steaks said it has managed to produce samples of its first products — bacon strips and pork belly made in a lab from cellular material.

With the revelation, Higher Steaks, a bootstrapped Cambridge, U.K.-based company, leapfrogs into a competitive position with a number of far larger companies that have raised far more capital.

"There's still a lot of work until it's commercial," said Higher Steaks chief executive Benjamina Bollag, "but the revelation of a pork belly product that's made from 50% cultivated cells and a bacon product which contains 70% meat grown from a cell material in a laboratory is something of a milestone for the industry."

Vaccine for thee but not for me? Here's why rushed shots shouldn't be trusted

Covid-19 vaccine
© Reuters / Dado Ruvic
I have said this since day one! It is inevitable you'll have those who refuse to take the vaccine, even though President Trump has been promoting one that's on its way and would likely hit the stage before the end of the year.

What will happen after that vaccine has been cleared? Will the powers-that-be force you to accept it, otherwise, you can't come back to work, your kids can't set foot in school? Will businesses refuse patrons entrance because they're not vaccinated? Just imagine the upcoming lawsuits - which is probably why Senate leader Mitch McConnell wants to write in legislation exempting businesses from lawsuits.

Developing any type of vaccine requires meticulous, methodical research, and the willingness to scrap ideas that don't pan out and start over again from scratch. I don't see that happening, with the pressure to produce a vaccine amid a pandemic as devastating to all aspects of life as this one. And with several companies and groups trying to be the first to get a vaccine to market, I'm afraid the company that receives the approval may be the one with the best political connections, not the best and safest vaccine. Considering the number of post-market drug recalls and withdrawals in the past few years, the US' Food and Drug Administration doesn't have the best track record on vetting the research.

How viruses and bacteria balance each other in the gut microbiome

virus bacteria
© Stephanie King
The adage 'all things in moderation' applies not to just to food and drink, but also to the legions of bacteria inside our guts helping us digest that food and drink. It turns out the rule may also extend to the lesser understood bacteriophages, which are viruses that infect the bacteria living inside us.

Like Russian nesting dolls, our bodies host close to 100 trillion bacterial cells that make up our microbiomes — and those bacterial cells have their own inhabitants.

"We're appreciating more and more that the most abundant microbial entities in the human gut are actually viruses," says Eric Martens, Ph.D., associate professor of microbiology and immunology at the University of Michigan's Medical School.

Objective:Health - Operation 'Warped' Speed - These People Are Crazy!

O:H header
On this episode of Objective:Health, we talk more about the latest corona-craziness. President Trump announced a plan to have a Covid-19 vaccine available by the end of 2020. Dubbed 'Operation Warp Speed', the details of the plan seem to come straight out of the film Idiocracy.

Heading the operation, for instance, is GlaxoSmithKline vaccine chairman Moncef Slaoui, a man who oversaw the Pandemrix vaccine for swine flu in 2009 which resulted in over a thousand recipients getting brain damage. And remember that GSK has the distinction of paying the largest fine ever paid by a pharmaceutical company at $3 billion back in 2012 for covering up the deadly side effects of the diabetes drug Avandia.

Combine this with the fact that fastest ever vaccine development currently is four years, and the development of a coronavirus vaccine, while attempted many times, has never been successful (often with disasterous results) and you can see why an estimated one third of Americans are not willng to take the Covid-19 vaccine if and when it becomes available. These people are insane, and anyone willing to put their lives, and those of their families, in their hands are either ignorant or equally insane themselves.

Join us on this episode of Objective:Health as we look into the crazy details of Operation Warp(ed) Speed.
