The last patient in serious condition in Wuhan, capital of Hubei Province, was cured Friday, reducing the number of such patients in the city to zero, said Mi Feng, spokesperson for the National Health Commission (NHC), at a press conference in Beijing.
According to the commission's daily report issued earlier Friday, the last patient in severe condition in Wuhan was also the only severe case in Hubei as of Thursday.
No new confirmed cases were reported Thursday in Hubei and there are no suspected cases in the province, according to the NHC.
It was the 20th consecutive day for the province to report no new confirmed or suspected cases, said Mi.
Comment: Of course it's 'less fatal than previously thought'. But they already knew that. They're just 'letting you down gently'...
Early antibody testing for the coronavirus in 19 New York counties suggests up to 2.7 million people could have been infected in the state alone, meaning the real death rate may be much lower, Governor Andrew Cuomo has revealed.
Results from a random testing sample of 3,000 New Yorkers have revealed that some 13.9 percent of state residents have likely had and recovered from the coronavirus, Cuomo stated in a press conference on Thursday.
While the governor cautioned that the results were preliminary and varied county by county, he still managed to throw the perception of the virus as a mortal threat for New Yorkers into question. The new numbers indicate that this revised infection rate, compared to 15,740 deaths linked to coronavirus statewide, points to a fatality rate of only about 0.5 - much lower than previously believed.
New York is the epicenter of the coronavirus epidemic in the US, and New York City has been hardest hit given its high population density. However, even in the city, where 21.2 percent tested positive for Covid-19 antibodies (1.77 million people) during this trial, a casualty count of 15,000 deaths points to a fatality rate of 0.8 percent.
Comment: This is the fourth such study in the U.S. showing this. Take home points seem to be: a) the lockdown doesn't work, b) the mortality rate is a fraction of what the authorities have been saying up until this point. Actual thinking scientists have been saying these things since close to the beginning. Maybe it's time to start listening? See also:

Comment: They would save themselves trouble if they just gave them tobacco to smoke...
French researchers are planning to trial whether nicotine patches will help prevent - or lessen the effects of - the deadly coronavirus.
Evidence is beginning to show the proportion of smokers infected with coronavirus is much lower than the rates in the general population.
Scientists are now questioning whether nicotine could stop the virus from infecting cells, or if it may prevent the immune system overreacting to the infection.
Doctors at a major hospital in Paris - who also found low rates of smoking among the infected - are now planning to give nicotine patches to COVID-19 patients.
They will also give them to frontline workers to see if the stimulant has any effect on preventing the spread of the virus, according to reports.
Comment: BUT they're only giving them to select COVID-19 patients for 'trials'. Meanwhile, they're moving to BAN the sale of nicotine patches. They know tobacco products work, so they're in a race to control the supply before people realize the scam:
France bans online sales of nicotine products, limits sale in pharmacies

The most successful lies are always false representations of reality that are based on something true, and they typically appeal to our better instincts. But if you don't read between the lines, the liars win, and you will end up doing the opposite to what you believe you are doing - in this case, protecting the vulnerable and your loved ones.
After it became apparent that COVID-19 broadly afflicts only the very old and very sick, a media blitz followed about tragic cases of COVID-19 in minors and infants. In the following video I analyze some of these reports and show them to be, at best, without foundation - at worst, insidious lies by omission.

Djokovic prompted something of a media frenzy this past weekend when he highlighted his concerns about potentially being 'forced' to receive a vaccination for coronavirus - despite this possibly leading to difficulties in traveling the tennis circuit.
Predictably, Djokovic's comments were questioned by science experts along with some of his fellow professionals, who maintain that vaccination is a necessary step required to halt the spread of the deadly virus.
Comment: It's quite telling that anyone expressing any need for caution or right to choose in regards to the vaccine issue is labelled an 'anti-vaxxer', regardless of how nuanced their position is. Trying to argue with an authoritarian is always doomed to fail. You're either with them, or you're against them.

A team led by Professor Li Lanjuan has studied how the novel coronavirus mutates and possible implications for the pandemic.
Professor Li Lanjuan and her colleagues from Zhejiang University found within a small pool of patients many mutations not previously reported. These mutations included changes so rare that scientists had never considered they might occur.
They also confirmed for the first time with laboratory evidence that certain mutations could create strains deadlier than others.
"Sars-CoV-2 has acquired mutations capable of substantially changing its pathogenicity," Li and her collaborators wrote in a non-peer reviewed paper released on preprint service medRxiv.org on Sunday.
Comment: More detail on the strains from meaww.com:
"We provide direct evidence that the SARS-CoV-2 has acquired mutations capable of substantially changing its pathogenicity. Our study provides direct evidence that mutations currently occurring in the SARS-CoV-2 genome have the functional potential to impact the viral pathogenicity," says the team in their findings, a pre-print version of which has been published.Despite evidence to the contrary and even acknowledging that the exact origin is not yet possible to determine, the WHO is still pushing the animal to human transmission theory. Meanwhile Trump is looking into the possibility it originated from a lab, albeit in Wuhan and not the US:
"A diverse collection of mutations was identified in the 11 viral isolates, including two sets of founding mutations for two major clusters of viruses currently infecting the world population. In addition, 19 identified mutations are novel, despite the relatively early sampling dates, indicating that the true diversity of the viral strains is still largely underappreciated," they say.
In a previous study, researchers from China had identified two separate strains of the new coronavirus. The research team analyzed 103 publicly available genomes from infected persons and found 70% were the more aggressive type, while the remaining 30% comprised the less aggressive type. Another study discovered three distinct strains of COVID-19, consisting of clusters of "closely related lineages" — which have been labeled 'A', 'B' and 'C'.
Asked to comment on recent reports by major US media outlets suggesting the lethal virus emanated from a virology lab in the Chinese city of Wuhan, Takeshi Kasai, WHO regional director for the Western Pacific, cautioned against speculation, saying the verdict was still out on the exact origins of the pathogen.See also:
"I think at this stage it's not possible to determine the precise source, but available evidence suggests that it has an origin from animals," Kasai said at a virtual press conference on Tuesday. "Again, there are many researchers studying these issues, and we've heard that this might have originated from bats, but how it reached humans we still don't know."
"At this time, we cannot conclude anything yet."
Last week, Fox News and the Washington Post both ran stories, largely based on anonymous US government sources, suggesting that the coronavirus might have escaped from the lab in Wuhan. Although US President Donald Trump fell short of endorsing the theory outright, he threw his weight behind the idea, saying it "seems to make sense," and that the White House was now looking into the question.
Not everybody on Trump's own Covid-19 task force seems to be on board, however. One key figure, Dr Anthony Fauci, has been dismissive of the claim, insisting at a recent briefing that the virus was not "man-made" and had instead evolved naturally to infect humans.
As drama and speculation about the pandemic swirl in the political realm, however, scientists have been hard at work investigating the virus' origins, with one recent study led by geneticists at Cambridge University concluding that it may have come on the scene much earlier than previously thought. While a number of experts have estimated that the first human infection occurred sometime in November or December 2019 near a wildlife market in Wuhan, the Cambridge researchers believe the outbreak actually started weeks prior, in September, and it may not have happened in Wuhan at all, but somewhere south of the central Chinese city. While the geneticists could provide few definite answers, the mystery may be unraveled further as research continues, with scientists building genetic models to trace the virus back to its true point of origin.

According to Dr. Andrew G. It helps a tremendous amount, but it is not highlighted because it's not a sexy drug."2

At first, the experiment seemed successful as all the animals developed a robust antibody response to coronavirus. However, when the scientists exposed the vaccinated animals to the wild virus, the results were horrifying. Vaccinated animals suffered hyper-immune responses including inflammation throughout their bodies, especially in their lungs. Researchers had seen this same "enhanced immune response" during human testing of the failed RSV vaccine tests in the 1960s. Two children died.2012 Study: Immunization with SARS coronavirus vaccines leads to pulmonary immunopathology on challenge with the SARS virus.
"However, challenge of mice given any of the vaccines led to occurrence of Th2-type immunopathology suggesting hypersensitivity to SARS-CoV components was induced. Caution in proceeding to application of a SARS-CoV vaccine in humans is indicated." [emphasis our own - ed]
Why are the world's top vaccine promoters, like Paul Offit and Peter Hotez, frantically warning us about the unique and frightening dangers inherent in developing a coronavirus vaccine?
COVID-19, the disease responsible for the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, can cause multiple organ failure after attacking the lining of blood vessels in the body, it was revealed in a Lancet study.
The findings show that smokers and those with pre-existing conditions, namely obesity and cardiovascular disorders such as hypertension, were affected most when catching the virus.
Comment: Looks like the medical establishment had to go into overdrive to counteract the mainstream reporting that smoking actually has provided protection from the potential damage caused by the virus. See:

Comment: It's doubtful that China's authoritarian lockdown measures did much if anything to actually stop the spread of the virus. It simply ran its course, as it is doing in countries all over the world. Assuming any measures that governments have taken are even effective at all, there is no justification for those taken by China, and now, Western nations too. South Korea didn't go full Mao, and Sweden's response has not seen the disaster scenario that expert predictors thought they should have seen by now. But China, and soon all those nations who followed suit, will justify the lockdowns because of their 'success' in stopping the spread of the virus - when the spread most likely would have stopped on its own, in the absence of such harsh measures.
