Oklahoma State senator and physician, Ervin Yen won't give up his personal vendetta to force all Oklahomans to vaccinate their children. For the third year in a row, Yen has introduced a bill requiring all children in the state to be vaccinated, with the only exception being children who already have a serious medical condition.

Yen's fear is that students won't be vaccinated (even though OK already has a 90 percent compliance rate), and an outbreak will occur — killing thousands of the state's schoolchildren. "I'm worried about those kids who are immune compromised, who cannot be vaccinated, I don't want them going to school and being exposed," said Yen. He's urging his colleagues to bring Senate bill 83 to a vote. "I'd like to get it passed right away before we have a huge outbreak and a lot of people die," said Yen.

Yen's is just the latest exhibition of the corporatocracy at work. The melding of big pharma with government is almost imperceptible but present nonetheless. After all, who doesn't want all children to be healthy?

Putting a child in a classroom for 8 hours a day, for more than a decade, and expecting them to listen while remaining 'obedient' is very unrealistic. From day one we are taught that this is the only path to success and we are shown the consequences of not paying attention. It's important to recognize that it's perfectly normal for children to struggle with paying attention to something that they are not even remotely interested in; this doesn't necessarily mean they have a disorder and it doesn't mean they require (potentially quite harmful) prescription medications.

It's Okay If Your Child Struggles With Attention - This Does't Mean They Have A Disorder

Many doctors and teachers are already aware of this, but I would like to reiterate the point — just because your child struggles with paying attention in school or sitting still in the classroom does not mean there is an underlying disorder to blame. It's perfectly natural for your child to want to be active and to want to focus on things which actually interest them. Sure, low grades might come as a result of not paying attention, but it is possible for a 2.0 student to know more than a 4.0 student; grades don't necessarily equate with intelligence. In many cases, they reflect an ability to follow rules and memorize information — both important skills, but perhaps less important than critical thinking and creativity. Some students may have a better ability to buckle down, pay attention, and do their work, while other, equally as intelligent students, may struggle with this model. This, again, is perfectly normal, and could actually be a marker of something really positive. If your child is being held back and being denied even the possibility of entering a gifted program based on the fact that they have attention issues, then there is problem.

New data from the National Center for Learning Disabilities shows that only 1 percent of students who receive services for their apparent learning disabilities (some of which are completely and unquestionably valid) are enrolled in gifted or talented programs. The report concluded that "students with learning and attention issues are shut out of gifted and AP programs, held back in grade level and suspended from school at higher rates than other students." Synthetic chemicals commonly found in insecticides and garden products bind to the receptors that govern our biological clocks, University at Buffalo researchers have found. The research suggests that exposure to these insecticides adversely affects melatonin receptor signaling, creating a higher risk for metabolic diseases such as diabetes.

Published online on Dec. 27 in Chemical Research in Toxicology, the research combined a big data approach, using computer modeling on millions of chemicals, with standard wet-laboratory experiments. It was funded by a grant from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, part of the National Institutes of Health.

A French court has ordered a German product safety certifying company to pay €3,000 (some US$ 3,200) to each of the 20,000 plaintiffs who bought breast implants approved by the company, which later turned out to be flawed.

The company or TUV as it is known - German businesses which certify the safety and rule-compliance of all kinds of products - was found liable by a commercial court in Toulon on Friday for certifying breast implants produced by the French firm Poly Implant Prothese (PIP) which contained cheaper industrial silicone instead of specialised material, AFP reported.

The initial compensation to be paid to 20,000 women is €3,000 (about US$ 3,200), however, "The final amount will be determined after an assessment, but (TUV) is required to make a provisional payment of 3,000 euros to each person," lawyer Laurent Gaudon, who represents 7,000 women, said.

The TUV is planning to file an appeal against the ruling, just as it did in 2013 when 1,700 PIP clients took their case to court and won. However, the ruling was overturned in 2015 by the appeal court in Aix-en-Provence which found the TUV had been misled by PIP, fulfilled its control obligations and "made no mistake."

A toddler who developed severe neurological symptoms including blindness associated with chronic encephalitis and died following MMR vaccination was found to have vaccine-derived mumps virus in his brain, a new study reports.

Published in the current issue of the journal, Acta Neuropathologica,the study is the first of its kind to conclusively demonstrate chronic brain damage in the form of "panencephalitis" due to a vaccine-derived strain of the mumps virus. In light of a recent epidemic of mumps in highly vaccinated populations, the research raises questions about the dangers of live vaccine virus mutations and about public health claims that the MMR is a completely safe and effective vaccine without serious side effects.

MMR, BRAIN INFECTION AND DEATH

The study describes an 18-month old infant who was diagnosed with Severe Combined Immunodeficiency Disease (SCID) — a serious immune system defect that may follow infection — four months after he received the triple Measles Mumps Rubella vaccine that contains live viruses.

The baby was treated for the illness but six months later became ill again with fever, rash, diarrhoea, lethargy and seizures. MRI scans of his brain showed evidence of encephalitis — brain inflammation due to infection.

While the term psycho-acoustic medicine may be relatively new in our world, the practices of using sound and frequencies to impact the physical and emotional health of the body has been used since the beginning of time. From Gregorian chants in churches, to the chanting of Tibetan monks, to Native American drumming, song and sound have been a catalyst in stimulating health and healing for the body and mind in all cultures. The definition of psycho-acoustic medicine is the science of how music and sound impact the nervous system, psychologically and physiologically. Simply, how it is how sound impacts the mind and the body.

One particular area of this science of sound is that of "binaural beats." Binaural beats were first theorized in 1839 by Heinrich Wilhelm Dove but was first scientifically tested and proven in 1973 by Dr. Gerald Oster, a medical doctor and biophysicist, when he published his finding in a research paper called Auditory Beats in the Brain. The study opened up a whole new area of science as it showed how sound affects the way and how quickly the brain learns new information, mood control, sleep patterns and healing responses within the body, among many other items.

How Binaural Beats Influence The Brain and Body

To begin, let's first look at what binaural beats exactly are. Dr. Suzanne Evans Morris, Ph.D., who is a speech-language pathologist, states:

"Research shows that different frequencies presented to each ear through stereo headphones... create a difference tone (or binaural beat) as the brain puts together the two tones it actually hears. Through EEG monitoring the difference tone is identified by a change in the electrical pattern produced by the brain. For example, frequencies of 200 Hz and 210 Hz produce a binaural beat frequency of 10 Hz (The difference in 210 Hz and 200 Hz is 10 Hz). Monitoring of the brain's electricity (EEG) shows that the brain produces increased 10 Hz activity with equal frequency and amplitude of the wave form in both hemispheres of the brain (left and right hemisphere)."
