Third member of prestigious FDA panel resigns over approval of Biogen's Alzheimer's drug

A third member of a key Food and Drug Administration advisory panel has resigned over the agency's controversial decision to approve Biogen's new Alzheimer's drug, Aduhelm, CNBC has learned.

Dr. Aaron Kesselheim, a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, said the agency's decision on Biogen "was probably the worst drug approval decision in recent U.S. history," according to his resignation letter obtained by CNBC.

"At the last minute, the agency switched its review to the Accelerated Approval pathway based on the debatable premise that the drug's effect on brain amyloid was likely to help patients with Alzheimer's disease," he wrote in resigning from the FDA's Peripheral and Central Nervous System Advisory Committee.

Pfizer lowers COVID-19 vaccine doses for younger kids in clinical trial

Pfizer said it has selected lower dosages of its COVID-19 vaccine for Phase 2/3 portions of its clinical trial involving kids younger than 11 than the volume given to shot recipients ages 12 and older. For children ages 5-11 the vaccine will be given at a 10 microgram (ug) dose level, while those younger than 5 down to 6 months will receive a 3 ug dose level.

The shots will continue to be given in a two-dose regimen. Currently, the FDA has granted emergency use authorization to Pfizer for its COVID-19 two-dose vaccine in people ages 12 and older. Everyone 12 and over receives two doses of 30 ug each given three weeks apart.

Comment: Developing a vaccine for children for a disease to which they are largely immune is psychopathic in the extreme.

Around eight in 10 people in the UK now have COVID antibodies, the ONS says
Antibodies are present in people who have previously been infected with COVID-19, or have received a coronavirus vaccine.

Around eight in 10 adults in most parts of the UK have COVID-19 antibodies, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

An estimated 80.3% of adults in England now have signs of immunity from either a vaccine or having had the virus in the past, blood test results for the week beginning 17 May suggest.

This is up from seven in 10, or 69.9%, a month earlier.

In Wales, the figure is 82.7% in the same week - up from 66.8%; in Scotland it is 72.6%, which is up from 59.9%; and Northern Ireland's estimate is 79.9%, which is up from 68.8%.

The estimates are for people in private households and do not include settings such as hospitals and care homes.

Comment: It is because people are coerced to get the jab in order to be able to travel or to attend large social gatherings. Such coercing would not be necessary if the virus was so dangerous and the vaccines so safe.

None of the vaccines approved in the UK met strict standards and can cause severe side effects or in some cases, death.

The coronavirus variant driving India's devastating COVID-19 second wave is the most infectious to emerge so far. Doctors now want to know if it's also more severe.

Hearing impairment, severe gastric upsets and blood clots leading to gangrene, symptoms not typically seen in COVID-19 patients, have been linked by doctors in India to the so-called delta variant. In England and Scotland, early evidence suggests the strain — which is also now dominant there — carries a higher risk of hospitalization.

Delta, also known as B.1.617.2, has spread to more than 60 countries over the past six months and triggered travel curbs from Australia to the U.S. A spike in infections, fueled by the delta variant, has forced the U.K. to reconsider its plans for reopening later this month, with a local report saying it may be pushed back by two weeks. Higher rates of transmission and a reduction in the effectiveness of vaccines have made understanding the strain's effects especially critical.


Comment: Without more data it's unclear what effect the experimental mass vaccination campaign has had on these variants, because in the UK outbreaks are correlated with an increase in vaccinations: Death rate in England is lowest since records began 20 years ago

Authorities create home-treatment-kit for 22 million-strong population
A citywide initiative in Mexico City to prescribe ivermectin to COVID-19 patients resulted in a plunge in hospitalizations and deaths, two studies found.

Hospitalizations were down by as much as 76%, according to research by the Mexican Digital Agency for Public Innovation, Mexico's Ministry of Health and the Mexican Social Security Institute, according to a TrialSiteNews report highlighted by LifeSiteNews.

Earlier this month, as WND reported, a significant decrease in cases in India coincided with the national health ministry's promotion of ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine treatments.

A fresh outbreak of a mysterious illness has been making headlines in Canada. A neurological disease dubbed the New Brunswick Syndrome has affected dozens and killed six people in recent months in the region that gave it its name.

At least 48 people aged between 18 and 85, almost equally men and women, have been suffering from an inexplicable illness that has caused their health to swiftly deteriorate. Visual and auditory hallucinations, memory loss, difficulty walking and balance issues are among the symptoms of the mysterious condition, which is reported to have killed six patients thus far.

Only about 52% of the U.S. public says they have trust in the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, according to a recent Robert Wood Johnson Foundation/Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health poll.1

After the year we've just had, I'm surprised it's that many. The latest CDC blunder came when it released a misleading and inaccurate statistic about the rate of outdoor COVID-19 transmission, placing it at a "hugely exaggerated" 10%.2

The error was egregious enough that it prompted The New York Times to release what it described as "a special edition of the newsletter on a misleading CDC statistic," featuring a number of epidemiologists who say the CDC's reports on outdoor transmission risk for COVID-19 vastly overestimate the risk.3

Initially, the CDC stated that unvaccinated people should wear masks in most outdoor settings and vaccinated people should continue to wear them at "large public venues."

Dr. Angelina Farella of America's Frontline Doctors said children do not need the Covid-19 vaccine because they have robust immune systems and actually confer immunity to adults.

Dr. Farella is a pediatrician based in Webster, Texas and member of America's Frontline Doctors.

The doctor said not only do children have a 99.997% survivability, they act as a buffer and actually confer immunity to adults.

"Children have this very unique immune system, their system works a lot differently than adults," Dr. Farella said in an interview with Rose Unplugged on 1320 AM WJAS. "Under the age of 14 specifically, they have this very robust immune system...that produces T cells...they have this awesome ability to make T cells to infections almost immediately."

"Now that they have that immunity, every time they cough, they're coughing their immunity on you," the doctor said explaining the importance of not separating adults from small children.
