Connecticut parents of pre-K children are required to vaccinate their children against the flu if they want to go to school in the fall - and have until Dec. 31 to complete the treatment.

According to WTNH-TV, the State Department of Public Health in Connecticut is requiring that children between the ages of 2 and 4 years old receive their annual flu shot by the end of December.

If parents refuse to vaccinate their children against the flu, those children will not be able to attend school until they obtain the flu shot. The state does offer a religious exemption.

Comment: It's that time of year again - everybody line up for your annual ineffective and dangerous flu vaccination! This time, it's mandatory!

Intravenous vitamin C for cancer: Cheap, effective and safe

IV intravenous vitamin C
For more than 20 years, the Hoffman Center has been using high-dose vitamin C drips in its cancer support protocols. The initial impetus was from Linus Pauling who, together with Ewan Cameron, pioneered the use of high-dose C in cancer in the 1960s.

Now, there's new interest in this modality for fighting cancer based on new, exciting research under way at the National Institutes of Health.

Cameron and Pauling found that vitamin C helped cancer patients live about four times longer than cancer patients not given vitamin C. They administered high-dose vitamin C in the form of sodium ascorbate given orally and intravenously to treat more than 1,000 cancer patients.

Comment: It's rather unsurprising that treatments like intravenous vitamin C would be pooh-poohed by the mainstream medical establishment - after all, a great deal of evidence points to the fact that it actually works. "Cancer research" only focuses on pharmaceuticals and chemo-agents, never on actual safe and effective treatments. It's almost like they don't want people to get better...

Bacteria found in soil at ancient sacred site in Ireland halts growth of superbugs

Streptomyces sp. myrophorea

Growth of the newly discovered Streptomyces sp. myrophorea, so named because it produces a distinctive fragrance similar to that of oil of wintergreen. Although superficially resembling fungi, Streptomyces are true bacteria and are the source of two-thirds of the various frontline antibiotics used in medicine.
Researchers analysing soil from Ireland long thought to have medicinal properties have discovered that it contains a previously unknown strain of bacteria which is effective against four of the top six superbugs that are resistant to antibiotics, including MRSA.

Antibiotic resistant superbugs could kill up to 1.3 million people in Europe by 2050, according to recent research.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) describes the problem as "one of the biggest threats to global health, food security, and development today".

The new strain of bacteria was discovered by a team based in Swansea University Medical School, made up of researchers from Wales, Brazil, Iraq and Northern Ireland.

They have named the new strain Streptomyces sp. myrophorea.

The soil they analysed originated from an area of Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, which is known as the Boho Highlands. It is an area of alkaline grassland and the soil is reputed to have healing properties.

Comment: It seems that while these discoveries are at least beneficial in the short term, as has become clear over the years with the rise of these 'superbugs', bacteria and viruses are always evolving. And so while it seems our bodies will always be a battle ground, a better route to sustained health would be in prevention; by strengthening our immune systems and observing practises which do not enable the otherside to get the upper hand in the first place. Why cancer needs to be treated as a metabolic disease

thomas seyfried cancer metabolic
In the featured podcast, Dr. Peter Attia interviews professor Thomas Seyfried, Ph.D., recipient of our Game Changer Award in 2016 for his work on cancer as a metabolic disease, which is also the title of Seyfried's book1 on this topic. His work is also heavily featured in Travis Christofferson's excellent book, "Tripping Over the Truth: The Metabolic Theory of Cancer."

The actual podcast can be heard on Dr. Attia's site.

Seyfried, in my view, is simply the best cancer biologist in the world. The featured interview2 goes into great technical detail that can be challenging for some, but if you're interested in understanding the mechanics of cancer, I highly recommend taking the time to listen to it in its entirety, especially toward the end.

Scientific evidence that flu vaccines spread disease: 630% more flu virus particles emitted by people who get vaccinated

flu shots spread flu

The study, which examined 355 volunteers who were sick with flu-like symptoms, found that people who previously received flu shots emitted sharply higher quantities of flu virus particles that can infect other people.
A bombshell new scientific study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) finds that people who receive flu shots emit 630% more flu virus particles into the air, compared to non-vaccinated individuals. In effect, this finding documents evidence that flu vaccines spread the flu, and that so-called "herd immunity" is a medical hoax because "the herd" is actually transformed into carriers and spreaders of influenza.

The bombshell finding is documented in a study entitled Infectious virus in exhaled breath of symptomatic seasonal influenza cases from a college community. The study authors are Jing Yan, Michael Grantham, Jovan Pantelic, P. Jacob Bueno de Mesquita, Barbara Albert, Fengjie Liu, Sheryl Ehrman, Donald K. Milton and EMIT Consortium.

Details of this bombshell study have been revealed by Sayer Ji at Green Med Info, a site that's rapidly becoming one of the world's most authoritative sources on intelligent analysis of real science. Green Med Info has published 500 studies that document the adverse effects (and injury) of vaccines. Find that extensive list at this link.

Comment: The toxic and flawed science behind flu vaccines
To date there is only one gold standard clinical trial with the flu vaccine that compares vaccinated vs. unvaccinated, and it is not good news for the CDC and the vaccine makers. This Hong Kong funded double-blind placebo controlled study following the health conditions of vaccinated and unvaccinated children between the ages of 6-15 years for 272 days. The trial concluded the flu vaccine holds no health benefits. In fact, those vaccinated with the flu virus were observed to have a 550% higher risk of contracting non-flu virus respiratory infections. Among the vaccinated children, there were 116 flu cases compared to 88 among the unvaccinated; there were 487 other non-influenza virus infections, including rhinovirus, coxsackie, echovirus and others, among the vaccinated versus 88 with the unvaccinated. This single study alone poses a scientifically sound warning and rationale for avoiding the vaccine.

Americans getting less sleep

Less Sleep

POOR SLUMBER - Light-emitting devices and high stress levels could be contributing to sleep deficits among Americans, especially minorities.
Nearly one-third of American adults sleep less than six hours each night, a broad new survey shows.

Among nearly 400,000 respondents to the annual National Health Interview Survey, 32.9 percent reported this short sleep in 2017 - up from 28.6 percent in 2004 when researchers began noticing a slight drop in sleep time. That's a 15 percent increase representing "more than 9 million people, which is about the population of New York City," says coauthor Connor Sheehan, a sociologist at Arizona State University in Tempe.

Analysis of the annual survey results - accounting for the U.S. population's age distribution as well as respondents' marital status, income, employment and lifestyle - suggests people have been sleeping significantly less from 2013 onward, especially black adults, the researchers report online November 17 in Sleep. In 2017, 40.9 percent of black Americans were likely to report short sleep, as were 30.9 percent of whites and 32.9 percent of Hispanics, the researchers calculate.

Endocrine disrupters: Chemicals commonly found in toothpaste and personal care products are a leading cause of early puberty

teenage girl
Within the past twenty years, studies have been showing that girls and boys are beginning puberty earlier in life than at any other time in history. Not coincidentally, the world has been inundated with a slew of toxic chemicals in products that we use every day and practically everywhere.

A recent study is raising the alarm over this issue, pointing out that some of these common chemicals may be disrupting a child's development even while they are still in the womb before they are born.
We know that some of the things we put on our bodies are getting into our bodies, either because they pass through the skin or we breathe them in or we inadvertently ingest them. We need to know how these chemicals are affecting our health. ~Kim Harley, lead author of the study and associate adjunct professor in the School of Public Health at Berkeley
Recently published in the journal Human Reproduction, a new report sheds light on this complex issue. Using data collected as part of the Centre for the Health Assessment of Mothers and Children of Salinas (CHAMACOS), researchers followed 338 children from birth into adolescence. The findings suggest that early environmental exposures may indeed impact childhood physical and mental development.

I Just Can't Quit You: Video game addiction is real and professionals aren't prepared to help

Nintendo/Victor Tangermann

Putting down the joystick isn't enough, there's a deeper issue.

When José Antonio Hita Ruiz was a teenager, his home life wasn't all that great. His father was an alcoholic, his mother worked too much. In middle school, he was bullied and his grades suffered, so he dropped out. While his friends left his hometown one by one to study at a nearby university, Hita turned even more to video games as an escape, often spending up to 16 hours a day playing strategy games and simulators at his mom's place.

"There was a point where I was completely alone," he tells me over Google Hangouts.

Now 24, Hita is doing much better. He's doing volunteer work for local nonprofits near Naples, Italy. During our chat, I hear sounds typical of the youth hostel where he's staying - animated chatter, pots clanking.

Question

Is there a middle ground in the vaccine-autism debate?

vaccines

In late August, during the pre-marketing phase for my book,
How to End the Autism Epidemic, USA Today reached out to my P.R. firm and requested a 2,000 word exclusive excerpt from my book.

It never ran, but you can read it right here. What's happened to the free exchange of ideas when it comes to vaccines?

MCLEAN, Virginia-No, I never really believed they would run it, but I put my feelings to the side and put the best possible excerpt together that I could, after reading this email from my publicist:

screenshot
In retrospect I shirked my duty to research vaccines properly. You don't think of a vaccine as a medical procedure, but that's what it is. I hadn't done a shred of primary research about vaccines prior to vaccinating my children. I remembered being vaccinated as a kid and thought, "I've been vaccinated, and I'm fine." I trusted the authorities, who all seemed to be saying that vaccines were safe and effective.

Pete Evans hits back at the Australian Medical Association after they slam him for suggesting people look into the sun for 'free medicine'

Pete Evans
He was slammed by fans on Monday when he bizarrely revealed that he looks into the sun and takes a swim daily for 'free medicine', before implying that they should do the same.

And on Thursday, 'Paleo' Pete Evans hit back at the NSW body of the Australian Medical Association, after they tweeted that no one should follow his advice.

Taking to Instagram, My Kitchen Rules star Pete, 45, shared a screenshot of their tweet and said: 'They've singled me out for enjoying a sunrise and being in great health!'

Comment: It's clear that the Australian authorities have it in for Chef Pete Evans. Anyone else making those comments would not be called out for them, since they are entirely uncontroversial. But since the AMA has been unsuccessful in their campaign pressuring Netflix to remove Evans' documentary 'The Magic Pill' from their streaming service, it appears they've got a bone to pick with him, and will make nit-picky comments on everything he has to say.
