There is one calming mineral that some reports say 90% of the population is deficient in: magnesium.
While our ancestors had an abundance of magnesium from organ meats, seafood, swimming in the ocean, and rich soil, it isn't uncommon to be depleted today. The modern diet is sufficiently lacking in magnesium and our soil is no longer as healthy as it once was. Stress is also a factor - not only does it worsen anxiety and depression symptoms, it rapidly depletes magnesium from the body. In a time when most people eat poorly, work long hours and stress is commonplace - it's no wonder why most people are magnesium deficient. But could this also be the reason why so many people experience anxiety?
Magnesium plays a hugely important role in the body; it is required for cell growth and development, normal blood pressure, enables thousands of biochemical processes, contributes to the proper functioning of muscles and nerves, and releases appropriate amount of serotonin in the brain. Without adequate magnesium, the brain will not properly release serotonin.
Artificially sweetened fizzy drinks, though marketed as a viable healthy alternative, were linked to a host of health problems including strokes and heart attacks.
Compared to those who never or rarely consume the drinks, regular users were 30 per cent more likely to suffer what was described as a "cardiovascular event".
Experts analysed the diet drink intake of almost 60,000 participants in the women's health iInitiative, a long-running US study looking at cardiovascular health among middle-aged women.
And while their statistics were taken from an impressively large sample size, the scientists stressed that they could only prove an "association" between health problems and diet drink intake - not a direct causal link.
The very same can be said when it comes to the research into the nutritional health needs of our beloved pets, after all, the largest human food manufacturer in the world, Nestle, is also the largest pet food manufacturer. In 2010 Nestlé Purina PetCare had revenues of $12.5 billion, or about 15% of total revenues for the Nestle Corporation.
Yesterday, the British broadsheet The Telegraph published an article with a rather bombastic title: Raw meat could be the cause of dead dogs, scientist warns. 'Bombastic', as in, 'high-sounding but with little meaning; inflated' is precisely what this title and entire article is.
And of course, the best of all possible worlds must have its enemies: the quacks who sell unproven snake oil.
So let's look at some facts.
As I've been documenting for years, the medical cartel has been engaged in massive criminal fraud, presenting their drugs as safe and effective across the board - when, in fact, these drugs have been killing and maiming huge numbers of people, like clockwork.
I've cited the review, "Is US Health Really the Best in the World?", by Dr. Barbara Starfied (Journal of the American Medical Association, July 26, 2000), in which Starfield reveals the American medical system kills 225,000 people per year - 106,000 as a direct result of pharmaceutical drugs.
I've now found another study, published in the same Journal, two years earlier: April 15, 1998; "Incidence of Adverse Drug Reactions in Hospitalized Patients." It, too, is mind-boggling.

Our ancestors experienced times of feast and famine and had to make the most out of each calorie source they had access too. When they killed an animal they would consume every part of the animal. The native Americans and other tribal groups and the original healers believed that eating the organs from a healthy animal would improve the health of the organs of the individual.
Here are some organ meats that you may benefit from including in your diet. These should all be from organic, grass-fed or pasture-raised animals and not ever from industrial farm raised animals. I like to get mine from my local farmer and also from US Wellness Meats which ships all over the country. Be sure to check out my sources at the end of this article for many great websites that have articles and recipes for how to use different organ meats. Here is a great article from Amanda at the Curious Coconut.
University of Graz study finds vegetarians are unhealthier, more mentally disturbed than meat-lovers
A new University of Graz study concludes that vegetarians are more often ill and have a lower quality of living than meat-eaters. According to the German press release, vegetarians "have cancer and heart attacks more often". The release also says that they show more psychological disorders than meat eaters. Consequently, the report writes, they are a greater burden on the health care system.
According to the press release the scientists evaluated data from the Austrian Health Interview Survey (AT-HIS), which is also part of an important and valuable EU survey (European Health Interview Survey).
The scientists examined a total of 1320 persons who were divided up into 4 groups of 330 persons each. All groups were comparable with respect to gender, age, and socio-economic status. The study also accounted for smoking and physical activity. Also the BMI was within the normal range for all four groups (22.9 - 24.9). The only thing that really was different among the four groups was the diet. The four groups were: 1) vegetarians, 2) meat-eaters with lots of fruit and veggies, 3) little meat-eaters and 4) big meat-eaters. More than three quarters of the participants were women (76.4%).
"I was pretty much housebound for a couple years," she recalls. "I just didn't have the strength to leave the house by myself. I was able to keep my house fragrance-free but I had trouble being in a crowd, like on a bus or in an audience where you're sitting next to people because so many people wear fragrances. Or walking on the streets, the car exhaust would be overpowering."
A friend suggested her problem might be mercury exposure from her dental fillings, but she dismissed the idea. After all, her neurologist had already tested her blood for mercury and did not find anything to worry about.
Homme had a mouth full of amalgam fillings, each of which is 50 percent mercury. The mercury in them was long thought to be inert, but scientists later discovered that some of the mercury is released as vapor and absorbed into the body. Still, the Food and Drug Administration and the American Dental Association maintained they were perfectly safe.
A group of flight attendants as well as investigations by the EPA have exposed shocking revelations regarding the health dangers in the skies courtesy of most major airlines. The information should make you think twice before having that cup of coffee, using their pillows, headsets or even washing your hands in the lavatory.
1. Don't Consume Any Water That Did Not Come From a Bottle
Whatever you do, do not drink the water in the lav. They sanitize the water tank at selected maintenance intervals, however parasites build tolerances to the cleaners. And that thunderous volcanic toilet flush doesn't exactly help the situation, spraying water and releasing potential germs into the air every which way. The CDC cited the lavatory as a major danger area for the spread of disease during epidemics. Use a paper towel to close the toilet lid before flushing -- and then leave without washing your hands. You'll come away cleaner if you skip the sink and reach for healthy hand sanitizer instead.
Do not EVER drink water on an aircraft that did not come from a bottle. Don't even TOUCH IT. The hoses that supply the airplanes water is filled with slime. The ports to purge lavatory feces and refill the aircraft with potable water are within feet from each other and sometimes serviced all at once by the same person. A random sampling of 327 unnamed domestic and international aircraft caused a stir in 2004 when some water samples tested positive for E. coli, one strain of which is the leading cause of food poisoning.
Researchers found women who drank two or more diet drinks a day were 30 percent more likely to have a heart attack or other cardiovascular "event," and 50 percent more likely to die, than women who rarely touch such drinks.
The findings, being presented at a meeting of the American College of Cardiology, don't suggest that the drinks themselves are killers. But women who toss back too many diet sodas may be trying to make up for unhealthy habits, experts say.
"Our study suggests an association between higher diet drink consumption and mortality," said Dr. Ankur Vyas, a cardiovascular disease expert at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinic, who led the study.
"It's not an extreme risk," he added.
Research has long shown that artificially sweetened drinks are not health drinks. While they may help people avoid more dangerous sugary sodas, studies show they don't help people lose weight.
