Two New Zealand parents think a school's Wi-Fi may have killed their son.
Ethan Wyman, 10, died of brain cancer earlier this year after an 11-month battle.
His parents now want Wi-Fi removed from his school because they believe students there are being exposed to radiation that could lead them to suffer Ethan's fate.
"Well people should be concerned because influenza is a preventable illness. It's a miserable illness. Most people will do just fine and recover in a bout a week but some people could go on and develop a very serious illness," said Kathy Barton with the City of Houston's Department of Health and Human Services. Or as in this sad case, die.
As a matter of fact thirty thousand people will die of influenza in this country this year and the strain that is showing up the most in labs this year is the H1N1.
Houston now has its first death. Harris County has had three deaths. Montgomery County has four suspected and Jefferson County has had two cases but no deaths.
The flu season has been bad this year and especially bad in Texas.According to the Centers for Disease Control it is widespread. But it has tapered off over the Christmas vacation.
Officials expect to see more cases as kids head back to school so here's some advice. Get flu shot. Practice good social hygiene. Maintain good space between you and other people. Cover your cough or sneeze. Wash your hands. Don't touch your face and if sick stay home.
Comment: So it appears we have an advertisement to rush out and get your flu shots? Perhaps educating yourself to the dangers of said shots would be more constructive than knee-jerk reactions to MSM's directives from Big Pharma. Changing dietary habits from gluten, dairy and carbs to a Paleo/Keto diet would offer a better long term solution for immune-system strengthening compared to the very real danger/death from vaccines.
Finding the flu virus among patients at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood is keeping special machines working overtime right now. Seven patients at Loyola tested positive for Influenza A on Christmas Eve. Five of them had the H1N1 strain known as swine flu.
They've detected a sudden burst of the 2009 swine flu spreading right here in the Chicago area. Microbiologist Paul Schreckenberger says last week alone, 21 patients tested positive for Influenza A. All but one of those cases were the 2009 H1N1 swine flu.
"We don't know why it's emerging," Schreckenberger says.
He says people may have gotten a false sense of security over the last couple of flu seasons, which were comparatively mild.
In Texas, the rush is on for flu shots. The very flu shots that Texans Dustin Wright, and his wife, Ashley, never received.
Dustin was hit with H1N1 flu strain, or swine flu, and he died Dec. 5.

1. Mercury Fillings Leak
Exposure to mercury from fillings results from erosion of the filling, or from evaporation from the surface of the filling. In one study, using a variety of X-ray imaging technologies, scientists examined the movement of mercury through the tooth. They found mercury in the tooth several millimeters away from the site of the filling. They also found higher concentrations of mercury in the area of the tooth, which connects with the gum, suggesting exposure to the blood stream. It was also found in the tartar on the teeth. [1] Conclusion? This stuff does not stay put!

The McResource website was intended to help employees manage stress, health, and financial issues, but had come under fire multiple times over the past few months. Most recently, the website told employees to avoid eating fast food, causing a chain reaction of scorn and ridicule across the internet. The website even labeled a meal that looked very much like a typical McDonald's offering - a hamburger, French fries, and a cola - as an "unhealthy choice."
When the post began spreading around on social networking sites, McDonald's told the third party company in charge of managing the site to take it down. It will still offer employees advice via its telephone hotline.
"We have offered the McResource program to help our valued McDonald's employees with work and life guidance created by independent third party experts," said Lisa McComb, a spokeswoman for McDonald's USA, according to CNBC.

Harvard Medical School's Dr. Marcia Angell is the author of The Truth About the Drug Companies: How They Deceive Us and What to Do About It. But more to the point, she's also the former Editor-in-Chief at the New England Journal of Medicine, arguably one of the most respected medical journals on earth. But after reading her article in the New York Review of Books called Drug Companies & Doctors: A Story of Corruption, one wonders if any medical journal on earth is worth anybody's respect anymore.
"It is simply no longer possible to believe much of the clinical research that is published, or to rely on the judgment of trusted physicians or authoritative medical guidelines. I take no pleasure in this conclusion, which I reached slowly and reluctantly over my two decades as an editor of The New England Journal of Medicine."Dr. Angell cites the case of Dr. Joseph L. Biederman, professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and chief of pediatric psychopharmacology at Harvard's Massachusetts General Hospital. She explains:
"Thanks largely to him, children as young as two years old are now being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and treated with a cocktail of powerful drugs, many of which were not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for that purpose, and none of which were approved for children below ten years of age."

Christine Caron, who lost both legs and one of her arms when a rare infection set in after a dogbite, is photographed at her home on Wednesday December 18, 2013.
It's the only gift Christine Caron needs after spending six weeks in a coma, losing an arm and both legs ravaged by infection and enduring months of grueling rehabilitation.
It all began when her little Shih Tzu, Buster, nipped her during a playful game of tug-of-war.
A few days later, she felt dizzy. She went to bed on May 21 and for six weeks, all was dark, punctuated by terrifying nightmares.
When she awoke, she was told that doctors would have to amputate her blackened limbs. The infection had threatened to take her nose and lips.
"I almost went back to sleep because I thought it was another bad dream," Caron says.
She was one of only two people worldwide -- winners of the "s--- lottery," she says ruefully -- to have such a catastrophic reaction to a bacteria in animal saliva because she'd unknowingly been battling pneumonia, which suppressed her immune system.
Food manufacturers who use genetically modified (GMO) ingredients want permission from the federal government to stamp their products with the word "natural."
The Grocery Manufacturers Association has asked the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to approve their plan, which would mean any food containing GMO corn, sugar and other such ingredients could be sold as "natural."
One advocacy organization, the Environmental Working Group (EWG), blasted the food companies' proposal.
Scott Faber, vice president of the EWG, called the association's request "audacious."
"It's like they're trying to get the government to say night is day and black is white," Faber told The New York Times.
The request comes as food manufacturers are increasingly under attack from opponents of GM ingredients. At least 65 lawsuits are pending in various courts aimed at forcing companies to stop using the word "natural" to describe products with GM elements.
PepsiCo settled one such lawsuit in August over its use of the phrases "All Natural," "All Natural Fruit" and "Non-GMO" on bottles of Naked Juices. The company said it would remove "All Natural" from the drinks' packaging and pay consumers $9 million.
However, PepsiCo will still use "non-GMO" on the juices, even though they are not certified as such.
Simon Bramhall faces an investigation after a colleague discovered the initials "SB" on the organ during a follow-up operation at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, central England, newspapers said.
The hospital's managing trust said in a statement: "Following an allegation of misconduct, University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust has suspended a surgeon while an internal investigation is completed."
The Daily Mail newspaper said Bramhall used non-toxic argon gas to sear his initials onto the liver.
According to the study, researchers discovered at least one of six different kinds of bacteria in 97 percent of all the chicken breasts it purchased across 26 states in the US.
To make matters worse, many of the bacteria is resistant "to three or more antibiotic classes, making them multiple-drug resistant," according to Urvashi Rangan, director of consumer safety and sustainability for Consumer Reports, who spoke with "CBS This Morning."
Not even chicken sold under organic labels could escape similar findings. Rangan didn't dismiss organic products as worthless, but stated that when it comes to potential contaminants, "the natural label actually means nothing"
These findings back up other studies revealing chicken as a leading cause of food-borne illnesses. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, "more deaths were attributed to poultry than to any other commodity" between 1998 and 2008.
