"That's what my break was really about," she told Billboard Magazine. "I could've had a stroke." Gomez said she underwent the treatment but did not specify whether she took chemo drugs or actual chemotherapy. According to one top lupus doctor, chemo drugs are now being used for the disease, believe it or not.
"Chemo kills cells that are rapidly dividing. What you are hoping is you hit the right dose of chemo to kill the problem and spare the cells you need to live," told Dr. Joan T. Merrill, medical director of the Lupus Foundation of America, to the Daily News.
Merill said the list of illnesses that chemo can be used for are: lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, polymyositis, vasculitis, Crohn's disease, psoriatic arthritis, and sceleroderma.
"The agency is not aware of any valid scientific information showing that foods derived from genetically engineered plants, as a class of foods, differ from other foods in any meaningful way. GE (genetically engineered) foods don't present greater safety concerns than foods developed by traditional plant breeding," the agency said. That would mean, for example, that canola oil genetically engineered to contain more lauric acid must be labeled "lauric canola oil." Most Americans would have no idea what that means.
"However, if a food derived from a genetically engineered plant is materially different from its traditional counterpart, the labeling of that food must disclose such differences," the FDA said.
Comment: The continued attempts of the FDA and biotech industry to force their frankenfoods on the population is simply fueling consumer backlash against the industry. Some grocery chains are finally listening to their customers and are rejecting the new GMO salmon.

Such is the current state of affairs between two camps of scientists: health effects researchers and regulatory toxicologists. Both groups study the effects of chemical exposures in humans. Both groups have publicly used terms like "irrelevant," "arbitrary," "unfounded" and "contrary to all accumulated physiological understanding" to describe the other's work. Privately, the language becomes even harsher, with phrases such as "a pseudoscience," "a religion" and "rigged."
The rift centers around the best way to measure the health effects of chemical exposures. The regulatory toxicologists typically rely on computer simulations called "physiologically based pharmacokinetic" (PBPK) modeling. The health effects researchers—endocrinologists, developmental biologists and epidemiologists, among others—draw their conclusions from direct observations of how chemicals actually affect living things.

Americans are exposed to a toxic soup of more than 80,000 different chemicals, but we have no idea what the impact of those chemicals is on our bodies — or those of our children," said Sen. Udall. "Current law has failed to protect Americans from dangerous carcinogens like asbestos, and Congress can't afford to stand on the sidelines any longer."
Sen. Vitter noted that "chemicals are used to produce 96 percent of all manufactured goods consumers rely on every day."
A medical team consisting of health workers from Nduga, Wamena and Jayawijaya regencies arrived at the location but have yet to ascertain the cause of the deaths.
"As many as 41 children have died, as of today. They present with a slight illness at first but die shortly after these initial signs. The medical team from Nduga Health Office, assisted by the Wamena Health Office may have returned home, but the cause of these deaths remains uncertain," said Mbuwa district chief Erias Gwijangge, during a call to The Jakarta Post on Monday.
Erias said Nduga and surrounding areas had experienced drought and were exposed to haze from forest fires. Rain only fell in the past month. When the rain began, a number of livestock, such as pigs and poultry, also died abruptly.

"Many of the children died prior to the livestock but there was no report of child fatalities, only in the last three days," said Erias.
When contacted by the Post, Wamena City community health clinic analysis member Yan Hubi, who joined the trip to Mbuwa district, said his clinic analyzed blood samples of the children to find out if the children had been infected by malaria, but all were negative.
Today on the SOTT Talk Radio Network's Health and Wellness Show, we'll be reopening the topic of GMOs and exploring the implication of genetically modified animal foods entering our foodchain. Is there any hope in avoiding these frankenfoods? Join us as we explore this topic and more.

According to OutBreakNewsToday.
Several of those who are now sick with mumps are Norwegian students who have previously received two doses of MMR vaccine is recommended.
It is possible to get sick with mumps even if you have been fully vaccinated against the disease, confirming Margrethe Greve-Isdahl, chief physician at the Department of vaccine, Public Health (FHI).
Comment: Mumps vaccine proves ineffective:
A provocative new study titled, "Epidemic of complicated mumps in previously vaccinated young adults in the South-West of France," reveals that the MMR vaccine, despite generating high rates of presumably protective IgG antibodies against mumps, does not always translate into real-world immunity against infection as we have repeatedly been told. To the contrary, the study details cases where, despite the detection of high levels of antibodies against the mumps virus, patients contracted a malignant form of mumps that only rarely follows from natural, community acquired infection.
Vaccine Failure Is Well Established In the Scientific Literature
While counter-intuitive to those who uncritically accept the official marketing copy of the vaccine industry and their cheerleaders within government and the mainstream media, the research community and general public is beginning to appreciate how prevalent and well-documented vaccine failure really is, especially in the case of measles, hepatitis B,chickenpox, pertussis (whooping cough), HIV, polio, HPV, and influenza vaccines that do not work as advertised.
Texas is the latest to report an outbreak of infections from the Latin American triatomine bug after the pest had been spotted in other southern and western states, including Georgia, Alabama and California, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The creepy crawler resembling a cockroach gets its colorful nickname because it likes to bite around the lips and eyes of people when they are asleep. More than half of the bugs carry a parasite that can cause Chagas disease in humans, dogs and other mammals.
The good news? To actually pass on the disease, the bug not only needs to bite you, but then defecate into the gash. If left untreated, up to 30% of bite victims will develop chronic conditions such as difficulty breathing, heart and intestinal complications, and, in extreme cases, death.
There have been eight million cases in Latin America and South America because of poorly constructed rural homes, according to the CDC.
To prevent an outbreak, the CDC recommends:
Sealing cracks and gaps around windows, walls, roofs, and doors.
Removing wood, brush, and rock piles near your house.

"Some researchers note that stimulants may improve sleep, because they reduce bedtime-resistant behaviors," said lead author Katherine M. Kidwell, a psychology doctoral candidate at the University of Nebraska.
"However, our study shows that stimulant medications impair sleep in children," Kidwell told Reuters Health by email.
Her team reviewed nine studies of children or teens with ADHD who were randomly assigned to receive stimulant medication or not. All of the studies used objective measures of sleep.
The results of the individual studies sometimes contradicted each other, but in general, kids on stimulant medications took longer to fall asleep than others, and that time lengthened as the number of doses per day increased.
Comment: Some doctors argue that the ADHD is an extremely questionable "disorder", and possibly a fraud intended to justify starting children on a life of drug addiction. Studies have shown that often diet may play a large part in creating the behaviors that are being labeled as ADHD and that in some cases, ADHD may be an allergic or hypersensitive disorder that gets triggered due to use of artificial colors in food.

Comment: Not only are chemotherapy drugs ineffective in combating cancer, they facilitate its growth. Most chemotherapy patients either die or are plagued with illness within 10-15 years after treatment. It destroys their immune system, increases neuro-cognitive decline, disrupts endocrine functioning and causes organ and metabolic toxicities. Considering these well-known facts, it is not difficult to conclude that the profitability of these drugs is behind the increase in off-label uses.
