Nipah bat-borne virus kills 12-year-old boy, potential to become new scourge in India

The Indian health authorities are sounding the alarm after a weekend in which a dozen people were infected and a 12-year-old boy died of Nipah virus, for which there's currently no vaccine. So, what do we know about the outbreak?

A specialist team was sent to the southern state of Kerala to assist local medics, after samples from the deceased child returned positive results the presence of Nipah. Before he succumbed on Sunday, the boy had shown symptoms of brain and heart muscle inflammation - conditions known respectively as encephalitis and myocarditis.


Comment: Notably, although most likely unrelated to the outbreak mentioned above, myocarditis is a reported side-effect of the experimental injections: Raising the alarm on myocarditis after Covid vaccination


So far, 11 people in Kerala have been diagnosed with the rare zoonotic virus. They include the boy's parents, his relatives and some of the medics who treated him. More than 250 others have been identified through contact-tracing, with 54 of them in the high-risk category ordered to self-isolate.

Bhakdi's Medical Credentials

Bhakdi graduated from medical school in Germany in 1970. After a year of clinical work, he joined the Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology, where he remained for four years as a post-doc.

There, he also began researching immunology. Eventually, he ended up chairing the department of medical, microbiology and hygiene at the University of Mainz, where he worked for 22 years until his retirement nine years ago. During that time, Bhakdi also worked on vaccine development, and says he's "certainly pro-vax with regards to the vaccinations that work and that are meaningful."

On August 23, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the US approved the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine, the fastest approval in the agency's history. This means the shot is no longer only in use under the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) and opens the door for vaccine mandates by employers, universities and the military, and gives doctors flexibility in using vaccinations for "off-label use," like giving booster shots. But the approval has been far from straight forward.

Firstly, the FDA did not allow public discussion or hold a formal advisory committee meeting to discuss the data, despite previously saying they were "committed" to doing so. They simply said, in a statement to The BMJ, that the agency did not believe a meeting was necessary since they had already held numerous meetings themselves.

There is also a great deal of confusion about the product that has actually been approved. Approval was granted to the branded shot 'Comirnaty,' a product they say can be used "interchangeably" with the Pfizer-BioNtech shot. But the previous shot is still under EUA and is not FDA approved. On top of this, Pfizer says there are "insufficient stocks" of the newly licensed Comirnaty vaccine.

The medicalisation of childhood is one of the most depressing features of Anglo-American child rearing. Year by year, it's getting worse.

The problem of mental health is fast becoming synonymous with childhood. Unfortunately, the medical establishment is more than happy to solve the problems of children by shoving drugs down their throats. This alarming trend was highlighted by new NHS figures published at the end of last month that showed that prescriptions for antidepressants given to British children aged 5 to 16 has risen by 22% during the past five years.

Predictably, the prescribing of antidepressant drugs has spiked since the lockdown. The tendency to medicalise children's behaviour has intensified since the outbreak of the coronavirus and sedating them is frequently regarded as the most effective way of dealing with their problems.

During the course of my studies into the subject of childhood and parenting for more than 25 years, I have noticed the proliferation of alarmist reports alluding to the distressing state of the mental health of young people. Every year, the variety of psychological problems afflicting children continues to increase. The lockdown has been seized upon as an opportunity by the mental health industry to turn children into potential patients. But is it really the case, as the Royal College of Psychiatrists argued earlier this year, that school closures and the lockdown threaten to unleash a mental health crisis amongst young children, that can damage them for life?

Comment: Medicating children needlessly for 'mental health' does not prevent it in later life...it assures it.

A shocking story claimed that an Oklahoma hospital had to turn away gunshot victims because so many people had overdosed on "horse dewormer" in a bid to treat Covid-19 themselves. The sensation was destroyed by lack of proof.

As it turns out, the story was horse s**t from top to bottom. When podcast host Joe Rogan announced he was treating his own case of Covid-19 with a cocktail of medications including ivermectin, the establishment commentariat went into overdrive, describing the drug - a Nobel Prize-winning anti-parasitic widely used around the world - as a dangerous substance used in the treatment of livestock.

Comment: The coordinated campaign against one of the safest, most prescribed medications in the world should raise red flags with everyone. UPDATE 05/09/2021: Fox News reports:
Rolling Stone was forced to issue an update to their viral story about Oklahoma hospitals being overwhelmed by patients who overdosed on the drug ivermectin after the doctor they cited was contradicted by the hospitals he referenced.

On Friday, the liberal magazine published testimony from Dr. Jason McElyea who told a local news station that hospitals were being overrun from patients overdosing on ivermectin which resulted in other patients waiting for treatment. McElyea claimed the situation was so bad that gunshot victims were being neglected.

The story, which originally appeared in Oklahoma's KFOR-TV news, was widely shared by reporters including MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow.

Fellow MSNBC left-wing anchor Joy Reid also promoted the story during her show on Friday, repeating McElyea's claims.

Independent journalist Glenn Greenwald tweeted
"The only reason Rolling Stone is calling this an 'UPDATE' as opposed to what it so plainly is -- a RETRACTION -- is because liberal outlets know that their readers don't care at all if they publish fake news as long as it's done with the right political motives and goals."
"Rolling Stone misspells 'CORRECTION' or 'RETRACTION,'" Fox News contributor Joe Concha tweeted.

Covid-19 vaccines for healthy children aged between 12 and 15 are not being recommended by the Government's vaccine advisers.

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) has announced that it is widening the so-far limited rollout to more children in this age bracket who have underlying health conditions.

But it is not recommending mass vaccination of children aged between 12 and 15.

The programme is being extended from what had been considered the most at-risk children, to include children with chronic major heart, lung, kidney, liver and neurological conditions.


Comment: Completely backwards. Anyone with the above conditions might do better to avoid these vaccines as they seem to appear to cause more problems than they fix.


It means about 200,000 more children will be invited for vaccines.

EU reviewing risk of rare inflammation after COVID-19 vaccinations

Europe's medicines regulator said on Friday it was reviewing if COVID-19 vaccines caused a risk of a rare inflammatory condition, following a report of a case with Pfizer/BioNTech's shot.

The safety panel of the European Medicines Agency is looking into Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome (MIS) after the condition was reported in a 17-year-old male in Denmark, the agency said.

The teenager has fully recovered. This condition has also been reported after some other COVID-19 vaccines, the regulator said.

MIS has also been previously reported in people following the COVID-19 infection, the agency said. However, the Danish teen had no such history.

The syndrome is a serious but rare condition in which different body parts become inflamed, including the heart, lungs, kidneys, brain, skin, eyes, or gastrointestinal organs.

US states that saw some of the country's worst Covid-19 case rates over the past week also reported the highest number of new vaccinations per capita, data published Thursday by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows.

Tennessee, which reported the country's worst Covid-19 cases rate, had the sixth-best rate of new vaccinations per capita in the US over the past week. The state's hospitals are "under increasing strain from the highly contagious Delta variant," Tennessee's health department wrote on Twitter Thursday, adding in a statement that the strain was continuing to fuel an increase in infections.

"Many hospitals are experiencing capacity constraints unlike we have seen during the pandemic," the department said, urging residents to get their shots and adding that most cases and hospitalizations are among the unvaccinated.

Comment: Is it a coincidence that we're seeing increasing Covid numbers in conjunction with increases in vaccinations? Could correlation be pointing in the direction of causation?

Television and film actress Kirstie Alley, 70, revealed on Twitter that she used Ivermectin and a cocktail of other drugs, popularized yesterday by podcast legend Joe Rogan, to treat her COVID-19. Alley says she recovered fully in 12 days, with most symptoms subsiding in two days.

Sharing a video in which Joe Rogan described how he treated his COVID-19, Alley revealed she used similar drugs to massive success, despite being in a higher risk age group. "I did almost the same protocol when I got it," wrote Alley. "It sucked for two days then I was just tired [with] no sense of smell or taste for 10 more days."

Comment: It's amazing how quickly the liberal press moves in to maintain the Covid narrative when anyone steps out of line and promotes a protocol that doesn't involve vaccinations. Rogan has been ridiculed for using 'horse dewormer', despite the fact that Ivermectin has been a medication used for humans for decades. But the more lies and smears spread on popular celebrities who dare to exercise their health freedom, the more fans will see the blatant disconnect between what the press is saying and what is coming directly from these personalities themselves. The narrative only suffers as a result.

New cases of the West Nile virus, spread through bites from infected mosquitos, were recorded in Massachusetts and Arizona. Officials urged people to take precautions and raised the risk level for the potentially fatal infection.

At least three cases of the West Nile virus (WNV) have been officially confirmed in Massachusetts, with the state Department of Public Health (DPH) having raised the WNV risk level from 'low' to 'moderate' in dozens of areas, including the Greater Boston area.

"We are seeing significant expansion of virus activity in mosquitoes," health officials warned on Thursday, adding that the risk won't lessen until the weather changes. "Risk from West Nile virus will continue until the first hard frost," the DPH statement said, urging people "to remember to continue to take steps to avoid mosquito bites."
