At least 64 people have died in the US after the country's northeastern states were battered by record-breaking rainfall brought by Storm Ida.
The deaths include at least four people who died from carbon monoxide poisoning in Louisiana, two dead in Mississippi after torrential rain caused a highway to collapse, and a number of people killed after their cars were swept away by floods - one of them a Connecticut state trooper.

A buffalo gave birth to a rare two-headed calf in Rajasthan's Pura Sikrauda village of Dholpur district. The newborn calf has two necks, two mouths, four eyes and four ears.
As soon as the calf was born it became the centre of attraction in the village as locals flocked to take a look at the animal themselves.
Veterinarian Gudde Singh said the buffalo gave birth to the calf without the help of any specialist. He added that the calf is completely healthy and is being taken care of in a normal matter. However, the villagers are still regarding it as a curious specimen.
Stranding Coordinator for the Marine Mammal Stranding Program Allison Lui told the Outpost that the female, subadult whale was reported to be dead when it first washed up on the beach Tuesday evening.
"We were able to conduct an external exam and collect samples yesterday," Lui said. "Sample analysis takes some time so the results are not available just yet, but we will be coordinating with our partners at the West Coast Marine Mammal Stranding network to confirm our findings in the near future."
Two Rohingya men were killed and three others injured in a lightning strike in Ukhiya upazila of Cox's Bazar.
The incident took place at Camp 17 of Balukhali refugee camp on Thursday morning.
The deceased were identified as Md Harej, 35, son of Jamal Hossain of Balukhali Camp 2 and Nazimul Hasan, 25, son of Md Hashem of Camp 8.

The agency also said that at least 26 residents in Inerie village in Ngada district were forced to leave their houses following the disaster, and no less than five residential houses were reportedly washed away by the floods.
"This phenomenon was triggered by high-intensity rains on Saturday morning, at 00.00 local time," the agency's acting spokesperson Abdul Muhari said on Saturday.
Local authorities are currently searching for the missing person in the accident.
Indonesia is entering the rainy season as announced by the country's Meteorological, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) late last month.

So far in 2021, there have been 282 flash flood warnings issued across the state. The 10-year average is just over 100 flash flood warnings issued annually, so this year has more than doubled and is close to tripling the "normal" number statewide. In 2012, a year with a rather extreme drought, there were only 62 flash flood warnings issued across the state. Inversely, the following year, 2013, saw a then-record 176 warnings.

Hundreds of homes were damaged or destroyed after heavy rain and floods in Santa Marta, Magdalena, Colombia.
Flooding struck in the city of Santa Marta and surrounding areas after more than 75 mm of rain fell in a few hours from late 30 August 2021. According to city officials 5,223 families were affected by the severe weather, including 3,487 in the inner urban area of Santa Marta.
Several water bodies around the city broke their banks, including the Manzanares and Gaira rivers in the city and the Guachaca River in Guachaca district.
The falling snow has raised the hopes of hoteliers, who expect higher footfalls to Rohtang pass and other tourist destinations in the state. As most visitors head to the hills to see snow, hoteliers believe Manali will witness a surge in tourist inflow after snowfall at Rohtang pass. However, apple growers in Lahaul are worried as fruit harvesting season in the valley starts in October.
Meteorological centre, Shimla, has predicted rain in mid and low hills and snowfall in high hills of the state in the next seven days. There is heavy rain warning with thunderstorms in mid and lower parts of the state.
