Massive waterspout filmed in Muğla, Turkey

A massive waterspout has emerged off the southwestern coast of Turkey.

The breathtaking sight was reportedly captured from a town called Mugla that borders the Mediterranean Sea.

The waterspout, which is a twisting column of air and water mist, appeared after a rainstorm passed through the area.

Earlier this year a waterspout appeared off the coast of Taranaki, with one local saying it "lasted around a minute or so" before hitting land and disappearing.

MetService meteorologist Lewis Ferris described waterspouts as "a weaker version" of a tornado.

Northern beaked whales are rarely seen this far south of the Arctic.
A 7.6-meter (25-foot) whale died on a beach in northern France on Monday, hours after being discovered washed up and alive but wounded, authorities said.

Experts had hoped the rising tide would come in time to help the cetacean back on its way, but the animal died as it struggled to reach the water.

"It probably drowned" during its efforts, said Jacky Karpouzopoulos, head of CMNF, an association for the protection of wild mammals in northern France.

The appearance of this type of beaked whale, a northern bottlenose, this far south is rare.

SOTT Earth Changes Summary - October 2022: Extreme Weather, Planetary Upheaval, Meteor Fireballs

ecs102022
Record rains and devastating floods hit at least 19 countries across West and Central Africa killing thousands and displacing tens of thousands. Over one million acres of cropland have been destroyed worsening the burgeoning hunger crisis. This has been considered one of the deadliest disasters in the region.
"The rainfall this year is exceptional. There have been sustained rains since the beginning of the season, since August, September, and even until October now, it continues to rain," said Kousoumna Libaa, a climate specialist.
Nigeria experienced its worst floods in a decade, taking the lives of at least 600, while tens of thousands of livestock were lost to the waters and waterborne diseases. 18 of Nigeria's 36 states were affected.

In Cameroon, flood waters caused significant damage in the northern region, destroying crops and houses, and Chad's government declared a state of emergency after the floods affected more than 1 million people.

Some farmers have lost close to 75% of everything planted this year, a new factor that will worsen food prices as inflation rates are already at record highs.

As the attack continued, the boat eventually began to crack because of the force of the orca's jaws and the ruthless killer whales ripped a hole in the hull of the 40-foot boat
This is the astonishing moment seven orcas destroyed a sailing yacht and sank it in 45 minutes, with the terrified crew fleeing for their lives on a life raft near Portugal.

Footage from November 1 shows the orcas circling and bumping the vessel, called Smousse while crew members Elliott, Augustin, Roman and Corentin were on board.

Augustin said that when they heard the boat shaking and a loud noise at the back of the yacht, they realised they were surrounded by orcas.

As the attack continued, the boat eventually began to crack because of the force of the orca's jaws and the killer whales ripped a hole in the hull of the 40ft boat.

Augustin went to the back of the boat and realised it was fast filling with water and the men had to flee.
