A rare weather event caused spontaneous snowballs to form near the town of Picabo, Idaho.
Thousands of snowballs rolled in a flat central Idaho field look like the work of hundreds of ambitious kids — except there are no human tracks.

A rare weather event caused the spontaneous snowballs at the Nature Conservancy's Silver Creek Preserve and surrounding fields near the tiny town of Picabo.

Preserve manager Sunny Healey spotted the cylindrical shapes up to 18 inches high on Jan. 30 following an overnight windstorm. They created long lines in the snow as they moved.

"You could see the tracks that they made, and I thought that was really curious," Healey said. "I had to stop a couple times. Then, along Highway 20, there were thousands of them."

So-called snow rollers are so rare and fleeting that the precise weather conditions needed to form them are not defined, said Jay Breidenbach, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. Snow rollers up to 18 inches are especially rare.

"Those are some pretty big rollers," Breidenbach said. "I've seen some small rollers, but never that big."

A big iceberg was spotted off Job's Cove on the Bay de Verde Peninsula on Feb. 10.
You can usually time the welcome of icebergs by the arrival of summer and the tourism season, but this year the mighty bergs seem to be hugging the coastline early.

Icebergs usually show up off the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador in May and June, and draws large swaths of people to the province each year.

It was captured in Bridgeport, Connecticut on February 15, 2016. Any ideas?

I believe this is a real video since the sound gets louder as the recorder gets out of his home. But I really cannot pinpoint the cause and origin of this creepy noise.

Moreover many other viewers recorded the same noise at the same time:

And here again:

There is really something coming from above. And these noises are signs of the iminent catastrophe we are heading to. Stop?

Comment: No one knows for sure what these sounds really are, but they seem to be occurring more frequently. For more details, see:

Mysterious shrieking sound leaves Oregon residents baffled

A mysterious shrieking sound has left the residents of one Oregon neighborhood seriously perplexed.

Dave Nemeyer, fire marshal of the Forest Grove Fire and Rescue in Forest Grove, Oregon, told ABC News that he first learned of the strange noise after a local resident recorded and shared a video of it on the city's Facebook page.

"It's definitely a horrendous noise," Nemeyer said. "I have no idea what the noise is. [The resident] described to us that it was coming from the middle of the street. To me, it sounds like the sound of train tracks, that metal screeching sound, but there are no train tracks near her home ... so that's obviously ruled out."

Neighbors are trying to determine what is causing a loud alarm-like sound to randomly ring near Gales Creek Road.

Paula Lynch tells KOIN she first heard the noise about two weeks ago. Since then, she's heard it four other times. Her neighbor has heard it three times.

Both Lynch and her neighbor, who asked that her name not be used, describe the sound as loud and like a warning alarm.

"It's hard to identify what angle its coming from because it just kind of encompasses the area," Lynch said. "We're just hoping somebody might be able to identify it so we can report it and have it stop happening."
