Footage posted on X/Twitter by @SunsetGirlJane captured the moment lightning struck as the band began playing "Master of Puppets" from the 1986 album of the same name.

"A thunderstorm happened and it made for the coolest f***ing intro of all time," the X/Twitter user said.


Georgetown Lake hit with a foot of snow during spring storm in Montana

Here in the Georgetown Lake area they are dealing with about a foot of snow, the really wet and heavy kind that's accumulating on all the branches, causing limbs to break and fall on powerlines. It's led to power outages, here and all over the state.

"Well, I think it's a little crazy, I just came back up from the south where it was nice and warm. I was hoping for spring, but apparently it's not coming today," said Georgetown Lake resident Joe Thomas.

Much of southwest Montana was hit with steady morning snowfall. NorthWestern Energy had crews responding to isolated power outages from Missoula to Bozeman.

"The heavy, wet snow is creating conditions for tree limbs to break or bend into power lines," said Jo Dee Black of NorthWestern Energy.

A 9-year-old boy was found dead near his bicycle after being attacked by a pack of "feral dogs," South Dakota authorities say.

The boy's body was discovered on May 18 in Eagle Butte, the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe said in a news release. Eagle Butte is a roughly 170-mile drive northeast of Rapid City.

Investigators said the child had suffered injuries "that may have contributed to his death," but the exact cause was initially unclear. Three days later, tribal police confirmed the boy was fatally mauled "by several feral dogs," officials said.

"Our hearts are heavy and our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends that have suffered this tragedy," Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement said in a May 21 news release. "Family has contacted CRST Law Enforcement and has asked us to share his cause of death; With heavy hearts, we confirm that this Wakanyeja lost his life due to an attack by several feral dogs."

In Hempstead County, a herd of 19 cows were discovered dead after storms blew through the area.

According to The Hempstead County Office of Emergency Management, the cows were huddled under a tree when lightning struck a little after 5 p.m.

The cows were being kept on Highway 371 east of Blevins.

Lightning struck a football field during training on Thursday, May 23, in the evening, killing a man in his thirties in Courrières, near Lens (Pas-de-Calais), reported the prefecture and the relief. The tornado hit the community of Bassin-Bleu on Tuesday, leaving more than 300 families homeless, according to the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

The office noted that at least 10 people are seriously injured, with local media reporting they were hospitalized.

The office said Haiti's civil protection agency and the Red Cross were the first responders and are evaluating the damage.

The civil protection agency said heavy rain is expected for most of Haiti, including the area hit by the tornado, warning of possible flooding and landslides.
