The El Mirage Police Department said two 14-year-old boys were playing with friends in a park near El Mirage and Cactus roads.
The pair was running toward a ramada when they were struck.
Witnesses started CPR before first responders arrived, police said.
The village of Grugnay in the municipality of Chamoson in Valais, southwest Switzerland, was struck by a gush of sediment, triggered by a series of heavy rainfalls on Tuesday. The mudslide rushed through waterways and roadways, overcoming crash barriers and pouring out onto the asphalt as panicked local residents looked on.
Videos were filmed by François Voeffray and Nathan Coudry. There were no injuries reported but some streets were blocked off as the clearing-up process began, according to Swiss broadcaster RTS.
Mote Marine staff has been working long hours responding to reports of dolphins. manatees, sea turtles and other marine life that has been killed or sickened by red tide in southwest Florida. They do not think the red tide problem is going to end anytime soon.
Mote Marine Laboratory will be conducting autopsies on the dolphins with the hope of learning what killed them.

"It could be one of the greatest environmental emergencies we have had in recent times," Ernesto Zazueta, president of the Association of Zoos, Breeders and Aquariums of Mexico told El Universal newspaper.
On May 18, residents of the municipality of Bitzales found a lifeless manatee floating in the water. They assumed it was an isolated incident, or that the animal had been sick. But in the weeks the followed, more and more dead manatees were found in the state's waterways. Fishermen reported that suddenly they weren't catching anything, and dead fish also began floating to the surface.
"That's the closest lightning bolt I had ever seen in my life," Brody Lee told WBTV just hours after he shot the video.
Lee was standing right by his home's front window when - boom! - he got the scare of his life.
"I was like freaking out because it was legit, maybe a couple of meters away from our house," he said.
A couple from Milan was reported to have died after the landslides, caused by storms in the Val Ferret area close to the Swiss border at the foot of Mont Blanc.
Their car was one of several swept away by mud after one of the landslides flooded a small side valley close to the town of Planpincieux.
The body of the man, 71, was recovered on Monday evening and firefighters were on Tuesday working to recover his wife's body, which they had identified as trapped under the vehicle, Corriere della Sera reported.

A German man in his 70s, who was helping supervise children at a campsite in south-east France, was missing on Thursday after being swept away by floodwaters, police said.
The 75-year-old man was accompanying a group of around 100 German children who were evacuated from a campsite in Saint-Julien-de-Peyrolas, some 60km (37 miles) north of Avignon in the Gard region.
Trapped by a muddy, fast-flowing torrent after the Ardeche river burst its banks he sought shelter inside his caravan, but the vehicle was swept away.
It was later found "empty and in pieces" near the river, police said.
He was the only person unaccounted for after a rescue operation at three campsites in the area, where a heatwave ended abruptly this week in storms that caused flash flooding.

Vice President Fuat Oktay and Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu on Aug. 8 visited the Black Sea province of Ordu where torrential rains have caused massive flooding.
Oktay travelled to the Ünye and Fatsa districts of Ordu to inspect the damages the flooding caused in the towns. He also visited a hospital in Ünye to meet with people who were injured in the disaster.
"At the moment, we don't have any casualties or citizens who are in need or whose needs have not been met. The climate has been changing [...] and so we also need a change of mindset," Oktay said.
