Beijing has seen a sharp temperature drop, with temperatures recorded 13 degrees Celsius lower than Tuesday, accompanied by rain and snow since Wednesday morning, the municipal meteorological bureau has said.
Snow has hit mountainous areas in the suburbs of Beijing, with the highest daily temperature dropping to 10.7 degrees Celsius from Tuesday's 23.2 degrees Celsius.
The average precipitation in Beijing was 2.6 millimeters between 5 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
Flooding from the Jari river has affected thousands of people in communities in the state of Amapá in northern Brazil.
Levels of the Jari river increased after heavy rainfall in the region over the last few weeks. The Amapá state government said the river reached 3.01 metres on 26 April, the highest level of the year so far.
According to officials, communities in the municipalities of Laranjal do Jari and Vitória do Jari have been affected by the flooding since mid-April. As of 26 April, the state government reported 16,152 people affected in Laranjal do Jari and 8,340 in Vitória do Jari. Federal government sources said over 220 families have been displaced.
State and federal government agencies are providing aid and relief supplies to communities in affected areas.
At least 20 people have died after heavy rain caused floods and landslides in areas of Rwanda and neighbouring parts of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo) over the last few days.

Local media quoting Ministry of Emergency Preparedness (MINEMA) said at least 11 people died and 13 were injured after heavy rain on 23 April caused flooding and landslides in several districts of the country. Damage to homes, roads and crops was also reported.
Affected areas included the districts of Nyamasheke (7 fatalities), Kicukiro (2), Gasabo (1), and Ngororero (1). Areas of Kayonza district suffered damage but no fatalities were reported.
A two-year-old boy died, allegedly after being attacked by a pack of street dogs at Golconda on Tuesday night.
The victim, Ahmed a resident of Bada Bazaar, was playing near his house when the pack of dogs attacked him. Locals scared away the dogs and rescued the boy, who sustained injuries on the neck and other parts of the body.
He was rushed to Niloufer hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. Locals pointed out that the stray dogs had attacked locals in the colony earlier too.
Locations in Casper received 9.5 inches of snowfall from this weekend's spring storm, according to the final report from the National Weather Service in Riverton.
Lander got nearly 11 inches of snowfall, while Meeteetse got 11.5 inches. The NWS said many areas were too warm for the snow to stick.
Casper Mountain received 16 inches of snowfall between Friday and Saturday night, placing the area at or above median snowpack, according to the state climate office.

It only took a matter of hours before power was knocked out and highways were closed, as a snowstorm rolled in to the Riding Mountain National Park area Saturday night.
The parkland area was hit hard with a second Colorado low in just two weeks. It brought strong wind gusts and thick heavy snow.
Electricity at the Elkhorn Resort was out when guests woke up Sunday morning, a disappointment for Toni Hayes.
"A lot of us came and thought, okay we're going to have a storm and it's going to melt or whatever," Hayes told Global News.
The weather had other plans for her, as she planned to head home to Minitonas on Sunday.
A combination of ugly weather has left at least 19,000 people in western North Dakota facing days without power and thousands of residents along the Red River that separates that state from Minnesota dealing with flash flooding.
A blizzard over the weekend that included a mixture of snow, rain, ice and strong winds snapped hundreds or thousands of power poles in the western part of the state, leaving damage that a spokesman for a 100-year-old utility company called the worst ever in its system.
At the same time, Minnesota sent National Guard members to help sandbag in Crookston, about 30 miles (48 kilometers) from the North Dakota border, due to heavy rains. The National Weather Service originally warned of a record crest on the Red Lake River but the river peaked Monday at about 27 feet. The record high water mark was 28.4 feet in 1997.
Multiple wildfires continue to tear through several states across the west in an early start to fire season. The flames turned deadly with Nebraska authorities announcing a retired fire chief was killed and at least 15 others injured while battling the blaze.
