A domestic helper named Yayan, 35, was mauled to death on Friday night when trying to feed her employer's pet dog in Cipayung district, East Jakarta. The dog belongs to TV presenter Bima Aryo, who hosts popular adventure program My Trip My Adventure.

Bima owns three dogs in his house, two Belgian Malinoises named Sparta and Doby and a poodle.

Yayan, who had only been working for Bima's family for two weeks, was tasked with feeding one of the dogs. She reportedly refused the request at first out of fear of being attack by the dog, but one of his employers, a 72-year-old woman identified only as TD, assured her that it was safe to open the dog's cage.

As soon as the cage was opened, one of the dogs brutally attacked Yayan. Despite rescue efforts, the worker died on the way to Kramat Jati Hospital.

Space station image of Hurricane Dorian captures storm’s monstrous eye

Landfall in the Carolinas has become more likely, with storm surge flooding, high winds and heavy rains the key threats

Hurricane Dorian is lashing the east coast of Florida with tropical storm conditions, and is now forecast to come very close to making landfall in the Carolinas between late Wednesday and early Friday, spreading its arsenal of high winds, storm surge flooding and heavy rains to at least four more states.

As of Tuesday night, tropical storm conditions had reached Florida's Space Coast. Although Dorian is no longer the Category 5 powerhouse it was on Labor Day, it has grown in size, and it's capable of moving more water toward the shore than a smaller storm of similar intensity. As it moves parallel to the Florida coast, its expanding swath of tropical storm and hurricane force winds will push north, into coastal Georgia, while driving dangerously high surf toward the shoreline, resulting in coastal flooding and beach erosion.

Now a strong Category 2 storm, Dorian slammed into the northwestern Bahamas over the weekend with the historic full fury of its 185-mile-per-hour winds and 23-foot storm surge. Video and images emerging from the Bahamas show a toll of absolute devastation on Great Abaco and Grand Bahama Islands, two locations where the eye of the storm made landfall.

Sunday night was quite a show for Albertans, as a massive thunderstorm rolled through the area. The Alberta thunderstorm was so bad it was even reported that lightning was striking every few seconds. It even struck a house in Calgary, the residents of which managed to escape uninjured.

The intense storm moved through Calgary and nearby regions, lighting up the sky throughout the night. A severe thunderstorm warning was put in place for the area by Environment Canada throughout the night but was lifted around midnight as the storm started to pass through.

With the storm lasting most of the evening, residents were able to get some amazing footage of the lightning that was striking down. It was even reported by the Calgary Herald that during the peak of the storm, lightning was striking every few seconds, making the storm the ultimate light show.

Videos show the night skies lighting up with multiple lightning strikes every few seconds. While there seems to be an abundance of strikes, it is still unclear exactly how many strikes hit the ground across Alberta throughout the night.

One Twitter user even stated, "Nothing beats a late-season nocturnal light show in Alberta."
