A large sinkhole and fissure appeared in Krabi's Khao Phanom district on Saturday, which a local believes may have been caused by an earthquake.

The sinkhole, measuring 20 by 20 metres, and a long fissure spanning more than four rai, were discovered behind the Theppitak chicken farm. In the chicken coop area, cracks were found in the floor at two locations, and a beam had subsided by approximately one centimetre.

Initially, the Moo 10 village headman, Thanapol Rampoey, cordoned off the danger zone and prohibited villagers from entering the area.

The owner of the chicken farm, identified as Suwit, 52, said that villagers had alerted him to the appearance of the sinkhole. He explained that the hole was initially not very wide, but it gradually expanded until two three-year-old oil palm trees were completely submerged, with even their tops no longer visible.

Woman dead, man hurt in bison attack in North Bengal, India

mmmmmmm
A 62-year-old woman, Deomani Baraik, was killed, and another man, Shahjahan, sustained injuries on Sunday after they were mowed down by a bison that had strayed out of Baikunthapur forest along with another Indian Gaur (bison). Later, one of the bison died after two tranquillising teams from Gorumara and Sukna darted the animals.

The other bison will be released into the forest after treatment. The bison had entered Raipur tea estate on the outskirts of Jalpaiguri town on Sunday morning. One bison had even entered the Rangdhamali Bazaar. The sight of bison straying into the village was new to the garden dwellers. As people gathered to see the bison, the animals started running nervously in the garden.

Since the place of occurrence was barely seven to eight km from Jalpaiguri, it was important to net the animals before they could enter the densely populated town.

Shahjahan is now undergoing treatment at Jalpaiguri Medical College and Hospital.

Flood warnings, which suggest that a flood is occurring or is imminent, were in place across Oklahoma.

The National Weather Service said on Sunday that severe thunderstorms were expected from east Texas into far southeast Iowa and Illinois, while the potential for strong tornadoes and damaging winds would exist from central Arkansas into central Missouri.

"This was a historical weather event that impacted roads and caused dozens of high-water incidents," police in Moore, Oklahoma, about 18km (11 miles) south of Oklahoma City, said in a statement on Sunday.

"One of [the vehicles] left the roadway and was swept under the bridge. At the time of the incident, all but two occupants were rescued. It is with great sadness that we report that two individuals, an adult female and a 12-year-old male, were later located deceased," the police said.
